CHEMICAL WEAPONS USE IN SYRIA AND DECLINE OF INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

When it comes to the two verifiable uses of sarin or sarin-like substances in Syria, namely the 2013 Ghouta attack and the 2017 Khan Sheykhoun attack, nearly all the available evidence points to them being used by the rebels. An MIT study of the Ghouta attack that examined the ballistics of the rockets used to deliver chemical agents concluded that they came from areas at the time held by the rebels. When it comes to Khan Sheykhoun, even the photos and videos made available by the rebels put into doubt the claim the munitions were delivered by Syrian aircraft, as there is no evidence of air-delivered munitions and moreover the symptoms displayed by the victims and the behavior of the first responders suggests exposure to a toxic industrial chemical rather than a highly lethal agent like Sarin.

Neocon Nikki Haley’s Anti-Iran Rage: Prelude to War?

Neocon Nikki Haley is Trump’s leading administration antagonist, notably on North Korea and Iran. Her hostile early September address on the Islamic Republic before the hawkish American Enterprise Institute preceded Trump’s decertification of the JCPOA nuclear deal – an international treaty the president defied by his action.

Haley’s address was a deplorable litany of beginning-to-end Big Lies. On Wednesday during a Security Council open debate on the Middle East, she was at it again.

Her remarks included a long laundry list of long ago discredited canards.

Washington, Israel, and its sinister AIPAC lobby resent Iranian sovereign independence, its military strength solely for defense – an obstacle to Israeli regional dominance, along with America’s presence.

Were Haley’s hostile Wednesday remarks prelude for initiating diabolical Trump administration plans ahead, including naked aggression against the country – nuclear deal decertification a starter for what’s to come?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am sure that Haley's strongest qualifications for the job as Bimbobassador to the UN, was her unswavering, slavish affection for Israel, allowing her to believe that this country can do no wrong, and an absolute, nearly pathological inability to look at facts, and make intelligent conclusions from a review of the facts.

A thinking Ambassador to the UN would be loathe to be condemn both North Korea and Iran for trying to defend their countries, and would be condemning Israel's flagrant collective punishment of the Palestinians; unfortunately, that is not what we have in Ambassador Haley, and the world may suffer terribly from this.

Taliban Destroys Afghan Army Base in Kandahar

A major Taliban attack in Afghanistan’s Kandahar Province has resulted in the destruction of an entire Afghan Army base, and the deaths of at least 58 Afghan soldiers. The toll is expected to rise with others wounded and six still missing.

The attacks began with the Taliban detonating two armored vehicles full of explosives, causing massive damage. Other Taliban swooped into the base and destroyed everything that was left.

“Unfortunately there is nothing left inside the camp,” the Afghan Defense Ministry confirmed. “They have burned down everything they found inside. This is the latest of several major attacks on Afghan security forces in the past few days

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec Def Mattis, a word please: if the current US/NATO "Surge" is working, why, please, are these Taliban attacks escalating by the day?!?

You have to know that the US government is paralyzed by a fear of appearing as having failed in Afghanistan.

Wise Presidential leadership with any small grasp of the history of this part of the world would never make the mistake of engaging Afghanistan militarily in a heartbeat.

But what we had, in 2001, was the horrifically polar opposite from wisdom, feebly illuminated in the person of one George W. Bush, scion of a wealthy Texas oil family which believed, as a matter of personal dogma, that it had a "divine right" to rule the White House, via the second most criminal and skewed election in America's history.

Adept speech writers, and highly scripted photo ops, could only barely mask the innate lack of intelligence Bush possessed, so he could be easily railroaded into military misadventures which had abosolutely zero chance to be successful in either the short run or long run.

Bush and his unholy enablers, Cheney and Rumsfeld, cheerled the idea, when the money the Taliban wanted for use of their oil pipelines was far more than US oil companies were willing to pay, plus you had the instability issue in the country here.

The result of the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan has been a collosal strategic failure, bought at catastrophic cost in blood and money. You, as a military professional who is highly respected, and in fact, some say, revered by your troops, understand this.

You and President Trump's team have been very "agitated" about what the international community may think about the US and NATO leaving Afghanistan; but it is high time you paid just a little attention, please, to the folks who worked, against all odds, to put Trump into the White House: I, sir, count myself as one of those people.

What is logical, sir, after 16 years on, is to have US and NATO troops leave this country as quickly as safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government is left standing in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

This could not possibly cost anywhere near as much as the current, and coming, complement of troops, on a daily basis, that the US and NATO are forking out right now for military operations.

I would like you to share your military wisdom with President Trump, about picking this country's battles more wisely than it has in the past; the current American sabre rattling against North Korea and Iran do not bode well in regard to an intelligently rational relationship with either country.

What the American people want is peace; the right and opportunity to work, and support their families; and to end these wars of conquest which are, generally, going so badly for this country.

Sec Def Mattis, you know what the right, moral thing to do here in Afghanistan should be; I am asking you, to have the moral courage to tell your Commander in Chief that this war is not winnable, without a hugely major, and quick, uptick in troop strength, which the American military, at this point in its history, cannot fulfill.

6 YEARS AGO TODAY, THE US HELPED MURDER GADDAFI TO STOP THE CREATION OF GOLD-BACKED CURRENCY

Six years ago today, the West took it upon itself to use NATO to overthrow Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi — not for any humanitarian threat to civilians as had been repeatedly claimed — but because his planned roll-out of a new currency to be used across Africa posed a palpable existential threat to central banks at the heart of the Western financial and political system.

Long theorized to be the actual vehicle for Gaddafi’s downfall, the gold dinar-based, pan-African currency motive came to light in nascent 2016 in one of more than 3,000 of Hillary Clinton’s emails released by the State Department — conveniently timed with the New Year’s holiday to abate outrage or repercussions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"We Came, We Saw, He Died!!" Thus cackled Clinton upon hearing of Ghadaffi's execution.

And we can see just how stabizing THAT was for Lybia, now factionalized in a bloody civil war, which is tearing the country apart, 6 years on.

State Department admits Al-Nusra affiliate using chemical weapons in Syria

The US Department of State admitted that militants linked to Al-Nusra Front are carrying out terrorist attacks using chemical weapons in Syria. Russia’s defense ministry says it’s the first admission of its kind.

The assertion was made in the latest Syria travel warning issued by the State Department on Wednesday. It also mentions Islamic State [IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL].

Webmaster's Commentary:

IRGC vows enhanced Iranian missile power in face of threats

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has sharply denounced the US president’s hostile policies and insults against the Iranian nation, vowing that the country will speed up its conventional missile program and regional role in response to enemy threats.

In a Thursday statement, the IRGC stressed the Guards’ resolve to defend the Iranian nation’s security and emphasized that it will not waver in its resolve to stand against the global “hegemonic system” and “the vicious network of international Zionism.”

The elite Iranian force further stressed that the Islamic Republic’s regional influence and missile program, which came to fruition under tough sanctions, will incessantly continue to expand.

The IRGC statement slammed the “rogue” and “lightheaded” president of the US, Donald Trump, for insulting the Iranian nation and paving the way for cruel sanctions against Iran’s Guards in his mid-October speech.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Look, if you had a powerful foreign leader PUBLICLY threaten your country at the UN with the possibility of a war and national extinction against your people, wouldn't you take the precise same steps as Iran and North Korea are doing?!?

Logic says, HELL YES!!

Unfortunately, these statements from the IRGC are going to play right into Trump's and Netanyahu's plans to further demonize Iran, as a prelude to a war against it.

But Americans had better wake up to the stark reality that the costs of this war, which may well include war with Russia, whose leadership have long pledged military support of Iran should it be attacked, will only be paid in American blood and American money.

Putin on North Korea Crisis: Don’t Back Kim Jong Un Into a Corner

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Thursday that North Korea must not be "backed into a corner" and urged dialogue to end its nuclear standoff with the U.S.

Tensions have increased between Pyongyang and Washington in recent weeks, with President Donald Trump promising in August that North Korea would be met with "fire and fury" if it threatens the U.S. and calling Kim Jong Un, the North's leader, "rocket man" in a speech at the U.N. last month.

Putin did not mention the U.S. specifically on Thursday, but warned of the growing possibility of conflict and pointed out that North Korea is a "sovereign country."

"Problems should be solved in dialogue, and North Korea should not be backed into a corner," Putin said in a speech to the elite of Russia’s foreign policy establishment and foreign guests at a meeting organized by the Valdai Discussion Club near the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin is thoroughy correct on this, which means President Trump will not listen to a word he has said, and will continue to provoke until North Korea either does something rash, or has it done for them, courtesy of a US-invoked false flag.

Russia urges US to destroy chemical weapons

After destroying the remainder of its chemical weapons in September, Russia is now calling on the United States and other countries in possession of such weapons to immediately “follow suit” and do away with their stockpiles.

Speaking at a meeting of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, Deputy Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Department for Nonproliferation and Arms Control Vladimir Yermakov blasted the US for undermining the international treaties banning chemical weapons.

“We call on all other countries still possessing chemical weapons to follow Russia’s lead without delay,” he said. “That concerns, first and foremost, the country that initiated the convention, which has always been the most active proponent of its ideas when it came to other countries and now, for some reason, it continues to be the largest possessor of chemical weapons."

Saudi Airstrike Kills Six Civilians, Mostly Children, in North Yemen: One Child Survived, But Critically Wounded in Home's Destruction

The latest in a long line of disastrous airstrikes by Saudi warplanes across Yemen, officials reported an airstrike on Tuesday night in the northern Jawf Province, destroying a single civilian home, killing six civilians and critically wounded another.

The civilians killed were an entire family. The slain included the parents and four of their daughters. The lone survivor, who was injured, was their only son. Saudi officials gave no indication why the house was destroyed.

Locals in the district, however, reported that the house was directly targeted twice, initially hit with airstrikes that destroyed the building, and then minutes later as rescue workers got close to the site. Officials say no rescue workers were injured, as they had yet to reach the wreckage.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The assassinations of women and children seems to be a major specialty of the US-enabled Saudi military in Yemen.

Mr. President, I do not know what your Unholy Triumverate of Kelly, Mattis, and McMaster are telling you about these murders of innocents, coupled with the massive deaths from malnutrition, due to US-assisted Yemeni port blockades, and the deaths from (potentially weaponised) cholera, but the US government and military, under your watch, have been colluding in Saudi war crimes in Yemen; there is no "nice" way to say this, sir.

The government of my country is guilty of war crimes, period, end of discussion; and Mr. President, as an American who supported your candidacy over that of Clinton in the last election, I am profoundly morally uncomfortable with your choices here.

Yes, those weapons manufacturers who have been selling bombs to the Saudis have made a "killing", both literally and figuratively; but at what cost to the soul of this nation, sir?!?

That is a question I have to ask, and respectfully request that you answer.

And one more thing, President Trump; your newest BFF, Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman, has many honorifics, which go with his position in the Royal House of Saud; however, there is one title which is going to follow him, and curse him to his grave and beyond; that of the Butcher of Yemen.

China's leadership reshuffle 2017HOME XI'S AGENDA RISING STARS APPOINTMENTS BIG PICTURE ALL ARTICLES OPINIONChina has the world’s biggest military force. Now Xi Jinping wants it to be the best

Laying out his ambitious plan for the People’s Liberation Army in a report to the Communist Party’s national congress on Wednesday, Xi said the PLA must modernise by 2035 and become a top-ranked military by 2050.

“A military force is built to fight. Our military must regard combat readiness as the goal for all its work and focus on how to win when it is called upon,” Xi said.

He said technology was at the core of combat strength and the PLA needed to apply information technology and modern warfare strategies to advance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government, military, and particularly our weapons manufacturers, need to be paying attention to this.

The culture of American weapons manufacturers has become avaricous; professionally sloppy in output; and has had a consistent track record of of not delivering what our military needs, and gouging the taxpayer for it, big-time.

One of the greatest debacles in weapons manufacturing in the 21st century, has been the F-35, courtesy of Lockheed Martin, which still cannot function as advertised.

Please do not get me wrong here; as a Christian Pacifist activist, I am constantly exhorting my government to resolve its geopolitical disputes with methods other than warfare.

But when war happens, I want our military to absolutely have the best possible weapons in their arsenals; there should not be one soldier in the field who gets wounded or dies from shoddy weapons manufacturing, or shoddy "value engineering".

And toward that end, weapons manufacurers should be forbidden, as a class, from contibuting to any political candidacies, period, end of discussion; it is through those contributions that they buy their immunity, and their ability to create crud which doesn't work, is wretchedly over-priced, and is causing problems for our military's response capabilities.

the Russians and Chinese are recieving far more bang for their weapons development buck than is the US military: that has got to stop, right the heck now.

Major Taliban Attacks Kill at Least 74 Across Afghanistan

Major Taliban attacks were carried out in both the Paktia and Ghazni Provinces on Tuesday, killing at least 74 people, mostly police. The attacks targeted police compounds and other government sites.

The largest attack hit a police compound in the Paktia capital of Gardez, killing 41 people, and wounding 158 people, including 110 civilians. The attack involved two car bombings, and five other attacks with suicide belts.

Among the slain were several civilians, but also the Paktia provincial police chief Toryali Abdiani. The large number of wounded civilians were mostly students there to pick up university ID cards.

Taliban attackers in Ghazni used major armored vehicles full of explosives to attack police near the capital building

Webmaster's Commentary:

I weep at this state of perpetual destruction, chaos, and carnage which has become Afghanistan; this country has not been named "the graveyard of empires' without good reason.

And Sec Def Mattis, please don't tell me that the "surge" is working, not with tactics and numbers like this.

IF Kelly, Mattis, Mc Master, and President Trump had two brain cells to rub together, they would realize the utter hopelessness of this occupation, cut their losses, get the US and NATO troops out of there just as quickly as safely possible, and negotiate with whatever government was left standing in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

That... would be logical, and infinitely cheaper than what the US government is shelling out for daily military activities in Afghanistan.

But those in the Bowels of Power, in the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika will not allow that to happen, because of the perception that a "loss" in Afghanistan will make the US look militarily weak and incapable.

But our civilian government's not picking its fights intelligently and well, is making the military of this country already appear to be weak and incapable; and it appears that President Trump is going to double down on not picking his fights intelligently, potentially attacking both Iran and North Korea.

ISRAEL IS HIDING THAT ITS STATE-OF-ART F-35 WARPLANE WAS HIT BY SYRIAN S-200 MISSILE - REPORTS

According to the available information, the Syrian Defense Forces used a S-200 missile against the Israeli warplane. This Soviet-made missile is the most advanced long range anti-aircraft system opearated by the Syrian military. Even in this case, it’s old-fashioned in terms of the modern warfare. Despite this, the Syrian Defense Ministry said in its statement that government forces responded to the violation of the airspace and “directly hit one of the jets, forcing [Israeli aircraft] to retreat.”
It looks that the Israeli “demonstration of power” during the recent visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has turned into a total failure.

On October 16, Shoigu arrived Israel for meetings with Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The sides were reportedly set to discuss the situation in the region, including Syria, the fight against terrorism as well as military and technical cooperation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I expect the IDF to lie to their collective teeth as to whether or not the F-35 got hit; but unfortunately, the F-35, that Frankenstinian monster created by Lockheed Martin has never worked properly, and is neither an air-worthy, nor agile.

US ARMY IS PREPARING FOR DECADES OF HYBRID WARS

Released on Monday, the US Army’s Training and Doctrine Command, or TRADOC, drafted a new strategy for how US ground forces will operate, fight, and campaign successfully across multiple domains—space, cyberspace, air, land, maritime—against all enemies in the 2025-2040 timeframe.

The new strategy calls for “super-empowered individuals and small groups”, who are mobile and can simultaneously fight in every domain of warfare, which will replace the conventional large units like today.

Since the end of the Cold War, US and Joint Forces have enjoyed considerable amounts of freedom across all domains. The purpose of this new concept is to prepare the US for an increasing number of actors who challenge US global hegemony.

The reported titled “Multi-Domain Battle: Evolution of Combined Arms for the 21st Century, 2025-2040?, repeats one key point over and over again according to Defense One.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So we are looking at perpetual, global war to maintain economic hegemony, no matter the moral and financial costs to this country?

Beam me up, Scotty; no intelligent life here!!

FBI Uncovered Russian Bribery Plot Before Obama Administration Approved Controversial Nuclear Deal with Moscow

Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.

Scott Adams: The North Korea Reframe

North Korea is building nukes and ICBMs to prevent the United States from attacking. Meanwhile, the United States does not want to attack North Korea. And yet we find ourselves at the brink of nuclear war while not actually having a root problem on which we disagree. They don’t want to be attacked and we don’t want to attack them. Doesn’t that seem solvable?

The problem, as I see it, is psychology more than weaponry. As long as North Korea sees the United States as a military threat, expect North Korea to keep upgrading their nuclear arsenal.

So what would it take to “reframe” the situation from two mortal enemies on the brink of war to something less dangerous?

North Korea wants parity before diplomacy.

U.S. Evacuation Drills in South Korea Heighten Fears of Military Action

The United States military said on Monday that it would practice evacuating noncombatant Americans out of South Korea in the event of war and other emergencies, as the two allies began a joint naval exercise amid heightened tensions with North Korea.

It has conducted similar evacuation exercises for decades. But with fears rising in the South that the United States might be preparing for military action against the North, the American military issued a rare news release on Monday stressing that the noncombatant evacuation exercise was a “routinely scheduled” drill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were I a non-combatant American in South Korea, understanding that this kind of drill was taking place, in and around the other drills being performed, I would definitely be more than a little antsy also.

Despite Campaign Promises, Arms Shipments to Saudis Skyrocket Under Trump

Before President Donald Trump flouted longstanding tradition by choosing Saudi Arabia as the destination of his first foreign visit as president, where he was lavished with gifts and reportedly struck a record-setting arms deal with the kingdom (after his administration called the CEO of Lockheed Martin to get a cheaper deal for the Saudis); before he took part in the male-only sword dance in Riyadh; before he ramped up support for the widely criticized Saudi-led war in Yemen; before he undermined his own secretary of State’s position by siding with the Saudis in their alarming diplomatic row with the Qataris—before any of this, Trump actually castigated Saudi Arabia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The sad reality here is, no political candidate for President, no matter their protestations on the campaign, is any less bought than their rivals by the corporations which own them, and have been placed into a position of high power to do their bidding.

That is the truth; and in the most profoundly disappointing way possible, President Trump has proven this once again.

Saudi Arabia is one of the wealthiest, but most socially backward countries in the Middle East; the practice of any religion other than the very severe Wahabi interpretation of the Koran, is forbidden; young women are still routinely gentially mutilated; and most of the population lives in abject poverty, while the monied and titled live in a degree of splendor very hard to comprehend by people who have not witnessed it.

President Trump has acted as though he believes that war is "good for business".

The only problem with this, vis a vis Saudi Arabia, is that the Saudi government and military, with US military assistance, are waging a genocidal war against the Yemeni people.

Toddlers and children are routinely killed and maimed in Saudi bombing strikes; together, with US Naval assistance, Saudi military has blockaded Yemeni ports, so no food can get in, leaving children dying from the complications of malnutrition; and now (possibly a weaponized strain of) cholera has taken hold of Yemen, in the worst outbreak in recorded history.

These, folks, are war crimes; and I am not someone who wants to be a citizen of a country complicit in war crimes. Unfortunately, Mike and I are too old, and too broke, to move to a country which doesn't indulge in this massively uncivilised behavour.

Yes, the American Merchants of Death are having a field day, with these sales of bombs, fighters, and bullets to Saudi Arabia, and their bottom lines look incredibly terrific; but at what moral cost to the soul and spirit of this country?!?

This is a question no one in the US government, including President Trump, seems to dare to want to ask, but I have to.

And in terms of President's Trump's new BFF in the Middle East, Prince Salman, who has orchestrated this brutal asault on the Yemeni people; you may have many honorifics which come with your royal title. However, there is one title which will soon haunt you to your grave and beyond: that of The Butcher of Yemen.

US Deploys Special Forces "Decapitation" Team To South Korea

Today, the South Korean and U.S. navies kicked off massive combined drills off the coast of the Korean peninsula amid heightened tensions, a training exercise which North Korea has warned may prompt another ballistic missile launch potentially to coincide with the launch of the Chinese 19th Party Congress on October 18. The two allies plan to continue the Maritime Counter Special Operations Exercise (MCSOFEX) through Friday in the East Sea and the Yellow Sea.

As reported over the weekend, the drill involves the U.S. 7th Fleet's aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) and two Arleigh Burke-class destroyers - the USS Stethem (DDG-63) and the USS Mustin (DDG-89). The carrier strike group will train with South Korean warships and other defense assets, such as the Sejong the Great Aegis ship and P-3 Orion anti-submarine aircraft in the East Sea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

While the info reported from Yonhap might be true, why blab it to the world, and lose the element of surprise?!?

Do they think that such a rumor is going to get Kim Jung Un to back down from his defense of his nuclear missile program?!?

Are they trying to provoke him into an attack by letting this info get out?!?

The ultimate reason for such a statement about the decap strike team to get made public like this is...very cloudy and occult right now.

Joint US and South Korean Navy Drills Kick Off Around the Korean Peninsula

The joint week-long navy drills of the US and South Korean fleets have kicked off. About 40 vessels, including the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, are taking part in maneuvers in the waters around the Korean Peninsula.

The naval drills are aimed at exercising a possible strike against the key military sites of Pyongyang in case of an emergency situation on the Korean peninsula, the YTN TV channel said on Monday

US submarines USS Tucson and USS Michigan are also currently in the ports of South Korea, the media said.

On Thursday, the US 7th Fleet issues a statement, saying that US aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan and Arleigh Burke-class destroyers USS Stethem and USS Mustin will also take part in the drills.

The exercises come against the backdrop of escalating pressure on Korean peninsula over Pyongyang’s missile and nuclear tests.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, these exercises only last for one week, then the "window" for a false flag/decap strike, is very small.

And that statement in the 2nd paragraph of the article, stating "The naval drills are aimed at exercising a possible strike against the key military sites of Pyongyang in case of an emergency situation on the Korean peninsula, the YTN TV channel said on Monday." is very worrisome.

That "emergency situation" will most likely come, courtesy of a US false flag.

It appears that those in the bowels of power in DC have gone deaf, dumb, and blind, to the Chinese government's statement that if the US attacks first, they will support North Korea.

In light of the fact that Mike and I are sitting on a first-strike target which China can actually target - and obliterate - color us more than a little nervous for the next week or so.

There is one resource I look at on a consistent basis, regarding North
Korea, and that is the website 38north.org: I encourage you to bookmark it.

This research group, under the auspices of John Hopkins University, is a pretty sober and sane evaluation of actions going on in North Korea, regarding their weapons program, and the information is done via satellite tracking.

Unfortunately, the last posed article is datemarked Friday. And on Friday, there was no mention whatsoever of movement of North Korean missiles as a prelude to a launch; and getting missiles to their launch sites does require preparation.

IRAN'S TOP GENERAL MEETS WITH KURDISH PRESIDENT BARZANI AS U.S. NEOCONS PUSH FOR WAR

In an unexpected diplomatic turn of events which underscores the seriousness of escalating tensions between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), the head of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard (which last week were designated by the US as a terrorist organization), General Qassem Soleimani, arrived in Erbil on Sunday and met with Kurdistan regional president Masoud Barzani to discuss the growing crisis at a moment when Kurdish Peshmerga forces are blocking Iraqi Army access to Kirkuk oil fields and military installations.

Major General Qassem Soleimani reports directly to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, and his elite force provides training and weapons to Iraqi paramilitary groups (PMU or Popular Mobilization Units) backing the Baghdad government. The meeting comes just after President Trump announced his new policy against Iran on Friday that includes designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) a foreign terrorist organization.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What I am seeing here, from the US State Department, White House, and Pentagon, is foreign policy via dartboard, with no cohesive, top-down overview whatsoever.

And from yesterday, courtesy of zerohedge.com, we have the very much expected headline:

The Deep State’s Bogus ‘Iranian Threat’

Thursday we identified a permanent fiscal crisis as one of the quadruple witching forces arising in October 2017 which will shatter the global financial bubble. Today the Donald is on the cusp of making the crisis dramatically worse by decertifying the Iranian nuke deal, thereby reinforcing another false narrative that enables the $1 trillion Warfare State to continue bleeding the nation’s fiscal solvency.

In a word, the whole notion that Iran is a national security threat and state sponsor of terrorism is just as bogus as the Russian meddling story or the claim that the chain of events resulting from the coup d’ etat fostered by Washington on the streets of Kiev in February 2014 is evidence of Russian expansionism and aggression.

Likewise, it’s part of the same tissue of lies which led to Washington’s massive, destructive and counterproductive interventions in Syria and Libya – when neither regime posed an iota of threat to the safety and security of the American homeland.

Webmaster's Commentary:

False narratives are those engineered to favor the agendas of the Deep State, which are, these days, generally war-centric activities, in order to create regime changes; expropriate resources to which American companies, and their international subsidiaries, have absolutely no moral right; and to insure those resources are only sold with American approval, and in American dollars; it is just that simple.

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in origin, he was absolutely correct.

This nonsense that Iran poses any real "threat" to Americans is just that; nonsense, engineered to demonize the Iranian government and the Iranian people to the point where the US government believes the American people will be ready to fight in a war against it.

There is only one industrial strength problem here; the US government has lied the American people into numerous previous wars, and the American people understand this.

They are not war-ready, or war-centric; they are war weary, and war-sceptical.

They understand the concept of how false flags are used as a tool of American statescraft, to create wars, and this goes back to our current understanding of how the Japanese were "tricked" into bombing Pearl Harbor, to get this country into World War II by what FDR's administration had done.

Pearl Harbor: Hawaii was surprised: Roosevelt was Not

I have posted an earlier article today about totally some totally unconfirmed reports that Pyongyang was going to test another missile next week.

I am frankly hoping and praying that DC is not planning to have Oahu play the part of the "sacrificial lamb" again by way of a false flag aimed at this island, to be blamed on North Korea, as the "justification" for an all-out attack against it.

US Commander: More Embedded Troops Will Break Afghan Stalemate

Gen. Joseph Votel, the head of Central Command, expressed confidence at the ongoing US escalation in Afghanistan, saying he is “seeing some positive trends” in the war, and thinks the US is on the right track, some 16 years into the war.

Votel cited the increased number of US troops embedded with Afghan forces, nominally as “advisers,” as an important part of the move to “break the stalemate” in Afghanistan, which he was confident would happen.

The “stalemate” conceit is something Pentagon officials have claimed for a long time, explaining that the war isn’t being won because it’s in a stalemate. In reality, US-backed forces have been losing ground for years, and hold less territory than at any time since the 2001 invasion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

General Votel, a word please; we are not leaving Afghanistan because the US government and military are collectively terrified that we are losing yet another war we had no business getting into in the first place.

Afghanistan is not characterized as "the graveyard of empires" for no good reason; the British, and later the Russians found that out.

It is time, sir, for the American miilitary and politicans to cut their losses here, and bring US and NATO troops home as quickly as safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government is left in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

You do, sir, understand that it was the disagreement on payment for the pipeline rights, coupled with the instability of the Taliban government which got the US military in Afghanistan in the first place, RIGHT?!?

As reported by globalresearch.ca in June, 2010:

B. What Was the Motive for the Invasion? This conclusion is reinforced by reports indicating that the United States had made the decision to invade Afghanistan two months before the 9/11 attacks. At least part of the background to this decision was the United States’ long-time support for UNOCAL’s proposed pipeline, which would transport oil and natural gas from the Caspian Sea region to the Indian Ocean through Afghanistan and Pakistan.15 This project had been stymied through the 1990s because of the civil war that had been going on in Afghanistan since the Soviet withdrawal in 1989. In the mid-1990s, the US government had supported the Taliban with the hope that its military strength would enable it to unify the country and provide a stable government, which could protect the pipeline. By the late 1990s, however, the Clinton administration had given up on the Taliban.16 When the Bush administration came to power, it decided to give the Taliban one last chance. During a four-day meeting in Berlin in July 2001, representatives of the Bush administration insisted that the Taliban must create a government of “national unity” by sharing power with factions friendly to the United States. The US representatives reportedly said: “Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs.”17 After the Taliban refused this offer, US officials told a former Pakistani foreign secretary that “military action against Afghanistan would go ahead . . . before the snows started falling in Afghanistan, by the middle of October at the latest.”18 And, indeed, given the fact that the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon occurred when they did, the US military was able to mobilize to begin its attack on Afghanistan by October 7. It appears, therefore, that the United States invaded Afghanistan for reasons far different from the official rationale, according to which we were there to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.

General Vogel, your statements here are tantamount to what can best be characterized as "magical thinking"; your troops, and this country, deserve far better than this!!

Israeli defense experts warn against dropping Iran nuke deal

JERUSALEM — If President Donald Trump moves to scuttle the landmark 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, Israel’s nationalist government can be expected to be the loudest — and perhaps only — major player to applaud.

But the true picture is more complicated than what Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might portray: There is a strong sense among his own security establishment that there are few good alternatives, that the deal has benefited Israel, and that U.S. credibility could be squandered in the turbulent Middle East in ways that could harm Israel itself.

US Military Sends Troops to Russian Border

The U.S. has sent troops to within 100 miles of the border of Russia’s military enclave of Kaliningrad to bolster a NATO outpost in Poland, Newsweek reported.

The news did not sit well with Russia, which claimed the move threatened its security and warnd it would consider adding nuclear-capable Iskander ballistic missiles on its side of the border as a deterrent to the U.S., the magazine stated.

Why U.S. and Saudi Arabia Back Rohingya in Myanmar

Demonstrations, protests and online petitions have appeared worldwide to defend the struggle of the Rohingya people who have been driven from Myanmar into exile. What is of concern is that political forces with no history of or interest in defending the rights of these oppressed people, including the U.S. and Saudi regimes, have joined this effort.

While he was threatening People’s Korea, Iran and Venezuela in his United Nations speech, U.S. President Donald Trump also demanded that the U.N. Security Council take “strong and swift action” to end violence against Myanmar’s Rohingya population.

U.S. government officials, including U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Vice President Mike Pence, have called for immediate action and delivery of humanitarian aid to the Rohingya.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One could not help but note the intense irony of this Administration's policy on Myanmar and their treatment of the Rohingyas; but it reminded me, again, of Karl Marx's observation that all wars are economic in their origin, and how completely correct that assessment remains, even in the 21st century.

In blocking arms to Yemen, Saudi Arabia squeezes a starving population

Late last year, the Kota Nazar, a Singaporean ship with 636 containers of steel, paper, medicine and other goods, set sail to Hodeida, the largest cargo port in war-torn Yemen.

It never got there. Like dozens of other ships carrying food and supplies to Yemen over the past 30 months, the Kota Nazar was stopped by a Saudi Arabian warship blocking Yemen’s ports on the Red Sea.

Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies have been stationing naval forces in and around Yemeni waters since 2015. Western governments approved the show of military force as a way to stop arms reaching Houthi fighters trying to overthrow Yemen’s internationally recognized government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

There's one very real fact that Reuters is omitting with great impunity here: the US government and military have been the primary enablers of Saudi's genocide against the Yemeni people, by providing both the weapons and "guidance" for their bombing runs.

Take a good, hard look at the image of that emaciated child its mom is holding up; now, imagine that was your kid. How would you feel, knowing the that it was the OUSSA (The Occupied, Unhinged States of America) contributing to that child's slow death, through malnutrition, by supporting the Saudi military here?!?

Folks, this is what is being done in Yemen with your tax dollars and in your name.

We need to have a quiet, peaceful, Quaker-like conversation, nationally, about this, then peacefully petition the US government to stop our involvement in this genocidal war against Yemen RIGHT THE HECK NOW!!!

US Army Shifts Focus to Fighting Technologically Advanced Near-Peer Foes

After nearly 20 years of combat operations in South Asia and the Middle East, the Pentagon has updated its fighting manual in the event that the US goes to war with a large military boasting high-tech capabilities like the ones featured in the US arsenal, Stars and Stripes reports.
The new manual, called "[Field Manual] 3-0 Operations" is intended to prepare US warfighters for confronting opponents with drones, cyber-attack abilities and sophisticated conventional equipment such as tanks and artillery, the newspaper said.

WHO: Cholera spreading at record pace in Yemen amid Saudi war

The World Health Organization says the rapidly spreading cholera in war-ton Yemen has exceeded 800,000 cases. Charity organization, Save the Children, says there has not been a faster outbreak since records began in 1949. Aid groups have denounced the Saudi war for fuelling the epidemic in impoverished Yemen.

Cholera has been used as a biological weapon in the past and I fear it is happening again, which explains the rapid increase in the number of cases!

Armed Robots Could Soon Be Seen in Ukraine Conflict

Are we on the verge of entering the age of robotic warfare?

Russian-backed troops in Ukraine could soon be facing armed ground robots in battle. Ukrainian military leaders proudly displayed their Phantom robot at the Association of the U.S. Army annual meeting in Washington, D.C. on Monday, Defense One reports. The robot is currently in an experimental phase, but reportedly could be used in combat in Ukraine as early as next year.

Depending on the terrain, the Phantom (also spelled Fantom) can be outfitted with treads like a tank or wheels. It can also be armed with anti-tank weapons, grenade launchers or machine guns.

The Phantom is also equipped with a backup microwave-communication link, which allows it to continue operating even if its connection with the operator has been jammed or hacked.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Is this article telegraphing that the Government of the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of America will be at war with Russia in Ukraine the biginning of next year?!?

I sincerely hope not!!

US Nuclear Upgrade Began Before Trump

President Trump is denying a report he has sought a massive expansion of US nuclear weapons. NBC News reported Tuesday that this summer, Trump asked top officials for a nearly tenfold increase of the US nuclear arsenal. Trump was shown a chart of the US stockpile over 70 years and he is said to have pointed to a part of the chart showing the arsenal's highest point, about 32,000 warheads in the late 1960s. Trump apparently "told his team he wanted the US to have that many now," officials said, according to NBC.

On Twitter today, Trump called the NBC report "pure fiction," but Trump is no stranger to making alarming statements about nuclear weapons.

How do intelligence agencies coerce people who do not fit the profile to do their criminal activities? They use drugs like scopolamine and captigon to totally eliminate their free will. Critical to consider during any false-flag and terrorist attack; assailants should be tested for traces of these drugs.

Iran Vows "Decisive, Crushing" Response If Trump Designates Its Elite Guards As Terrorists

On Sunday, in its most explicit warning to Donald Trump not to revise the terms of the Nuclear Deal - something the US president is expected to do over the coming days - Iran warned the United States that U.S. regional military bases "would be at risk" if further sanctions were passed. "The Americans should know that the Trump government’s stupid behavior with the nuclear deal will be used by the Islamic Republic as an opportunity to move ahead with its missile, regional and conventional defense program," Iran Revolutionary Guards’ commander Mohammad Ali Jafari said, quoted by Reuters. He then threatened US presence in the region, warning that “if America’s new law for sanctions is passed, this country will have to move their regional bases outside the 2,000 km range of Iran’s missiles."

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would politely suggest that President Trump take Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qasemi at his word.

The following article is very illuminative in describing what the Iranian government may do, should such a US decree be issued:

Iran to declare US Military a Terrorist organisation in a tit for tat response

On 24 September of this year, President Trump accused Iran of collusion with North Korea on its nuclear program, which is certainly not helping ratchet down the tensions with either country:

President Trump accuses Iran of Colluding with North Korea on its nuclear program

The US decertification is going to happen Sunday 15 October, this coming Sunday; South Korean/US military exercises are going to happen around 20 October.

I am sincerely hoping and praying that the Unholy Quartet of "President Whisperers", consistingof McMaster; Mattis; Kelly; and Netanyahu have not convinced President Trump that he could handle wars against both countries simultaneously and victoriously; such an attack would demonstrate, and create, the failing of the American empire in its last death throes.

US Warship Approaches Korean Peninsula for Drills with South Korea

The USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier along with a guided-missile cruiser and a nuclear-powered submarine are on their way to the Korean Peninsula to prepare for a potential war with North Korea, while Pyongyang reportedly plans new missiles tests.

As of Friday afternoon, the USS Ronald Reagan, with nearly 80 aircraft on board, was in the South China Sea on its way to the shores of US ally South Korea.

The two allies will conduct joint drills to detect, track, and intercept ballistic missiles, in addition to anti-submarine warfare training, Yonhap News agency reported, citing an unnamed South Korean official.

The official said the military exercises will likely be held around October 20.

The drills are to prepare the US military to defend its allies as well as maintain stability in the area, Rear Admiral Marc Dalton, commander of the USS Ronald Reagan’s strike group, told the South China Morning Post.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...maintain stability", MY ASTROLABE!!

Kim Jung Un is many things; but stupid is not one of them.

He will see this precisely for what it is; an hostile threat to his government, perhaps leading to a military assault against the country.

These exercises are supposed to start 20 October one week from this Friday; but one thing I have not been able to find, on any blog, is an end date to these exercizes, which is pretty unusual, and might well be telling in the context of what this exercize is actually engineered to do.

So I have to speculate; is this exercize to be open ended, and perhaps wind up the "sacrificial lamb" to make it look as though North Korea fired the first shot, even if that first shot may well be a false flag?!?

False flags have been tools of US Statescraft for some time now; so I frankly would not bet against it, were I a betting woman.

Women Against Military Madness, a Partner of ICAN, the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize Winner

Twin Cities-based Women Against Military Madness (WAMM) is honored to be one of 25 U.S. organizations that are partners in the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), which was awarded the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize on October 6. (There are 456 partner groups in ICAN in 101 countries around the world working to abolish nuclear weapons). ICAN was given the award for its international advocacy in helping to bring about the historic UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

In its Nobel acceptance speech, ICAN credited grassroots participation of activists like those in WAMM with recognition of “the tireless efforts of many millions of campaigners and concerned citizens worldwide who, ever since the dawn of the atomic age, have loudly protested nuclear weapons…By harnessing the power of the people, we have worked to bring an end to the most destructive weapons ever created — the only weapon that poses an existential threat to all humanity.”

Trump sends lieutenants to Pakistan with tough message

President Donald Trump will dispatch his top diplomatic and military advisors to Pakistan in the coming weeks, turning up the heat on a nuclear-armed ally accused of harboring terror groups.

Weeks after Trump angrily accused Islamabad of providing safe haven to "agents of chaos," Secretary of State Rex Tillerson plans to depart for Pakistan late this month.

He will be followed by Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, according to US and Pakistani sources.

The one-two punch is designed to drill home Trump's message that Pakistani state support for jihadist groups has to end, according to officials briefed on the visits.

Washington has long been frustrated by Pakistan's willingness to offer cross-border safe havens to Taliban factions and armed Islamist groups fighting US troops and their Afghan allies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The level of corruption in both the Pakistani military and civilian leadership is making for absolute chaos in the US foreign policy decisions regarding that country.

Historically, "regime changes" have come from within the Pakistani military.

The least disruptive thing the US government could do here right now, is to nurture some of the leadership in the Pakistani military who are Western-centric, and see what tools they could give them to ascend to a position of power and influence over governmental decisions, like not providing safe havens for the Taliban or armed Islamist groups, if in fact these charges are true.

But the Pakistani economy is on the ascendent right now In what has become a major victory for the Pakistani economy, U.S.-based Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) reclassified Pakistan as an emerging market after categorizing it among frontier markets for the past nine years.

As the benchmark KSE-100 index skyrocketed 400 points to reach 52,700 level at the open earlier this week, a new all-time high, the MSCI upgraded the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) to Emerging Market status. That paved the way for foreign investors that track the index and have between $1.4 trillion and $1.7 trillion available.Pakistan Economy CPEC

The most important thing which needs to come from this, is to benefit all Pakistanis economically, with greater participation in the country's economic growth, so that turning to radicalism will not be so attractive as it might have been in the past.

Cholera death toll rises to 2,151 in war-torn Yemen: WHO

The death toll of the Cholera epidemic in war-ravaged Yemen has risen to 2,151 since it broke out in late April, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Saturday.
A total of 800,626 people from 22 provinces out of total 23 have been infected, WHO said in a statement distributed to the local media.
The death toll has increased by 24 comparing with the WHO report a week ago, while the suspected cases have risen by 33,102.
Most of the deaths were reported from the northern province of Hajjah, while most of the infected cases were reported from the northwestern port province of Hodeidah on the coast of the Red Sea, both under control of Shiite Houthi rebels.
Last week, the International Committee of the Red Cross expected the epidemic to hit one million by the end of the year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We cannot tell whether this cholera was weaponised; it has, historically been done before.

Cholera has been weaponised

And can anyone tell me, please, where Prince Salman's alleged contribution to the UN to combat cholera in Yemen actually went?!? Because if the rate of infection is this high, it is obvious that the aid never actually got to Yemen.

And here is why, reported at WRH in June of this year:

President Trump and The Butcher of Yemen, AKA Prince Salmon, ought to be completely proud of themselves for the continuing growth in the spread of cholera in Yemen; they both adore big numbers!!

Marvel drops Northrop Grumman tie-in after Comic Con fan rebellion

The Marvel comic company dropped a partnership with the defense industry giant Northrop Grumman and canceled a launch event scheduled for New York Comic Con on Saturday, after plans for a special series featuring branded superheroes alongside the legendary Avengers characters met with fierce opposition.

Some fans had planned to protest at the Comic Con event, after Marvel announced via social media that it would launch the limited edition series at its booth at the Jacob K Javits Conference Center on the western side of Manhattan. On Saturday, many attendees welcomed the cancellations.

“I think it was a terrible idea to begin with to try to merge these two worlds,” said Nick Greer from Groton, Connecticut, who was dressed as the Marvel character Nick Fury. “They saw the backlash and they shut it down.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Marvel, you did the absolutely morally correct thing here; colluding with an American Merchant of Death, which makes weapons which kill and maim, many times completely innocent victims (like the deaths of Yemeni infants and, courtesy of Saudi air strikes) is a form of "normalizing" war and destruction for younger, impressionable kids, many of whom make up the fan base for Marvel films and merchandising.

I am very glad you rethought this: Good on ya!! :-)

US Bomb Tests and Bidding Wars Herald New (Unlawful) $1.5 Trillion Nuclear Weapons Complex

While much of the world pursues the abolition of nuclear weapons – embraced by the adoption July 7 by 122 nations of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons – the militarized Trump White House is pursuing plans for a trillion-dollar rebuild of the entire US nuclear weapons complex. The enormous, extravagant program is designed to produce 80 new nuclear warheads every year, including three new warhead types, a new $20 billion nuclear-armed Long Range Standoff (LRSO) weapon, a new $12 billion B61 nuclear gravity bomb, a new fleet of nuclear-armed submarines, and a new $100 billion intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) system.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This last paragraph's characterisation of the Trump administration concerns me very deeply.

As a Christian Pacifist Activist, I am constantly, peacefully and rationally, exhorting my government to resolve its geopolitical issues with moral, hard-won negotiations rather than bombs and bullets.

It unfortunately feels to me, and to many peole who think the way I do, that I am absolutely on the right side of an absolutely losing proposition with Trump's administration.

I am thinking, very intensely now, about the speculation positied by Albert Einstein, when he said "“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”, indicating that the world would be brought back to the stone age, courtesy of a massive nuclear exchange.

And with all the nuclear armed countries at this point in this world's history, including India; Pakistan; UK; the US; China; Russia; and Israel, his comments may well prove prophetic here.

The Chinese Dream in Peril: Xi Jinping and the Korean Crisis

With tensions escalating rapidly again on the Korean peninsula, the attention of the world invariably has returned to the question of whether or not the solution to the crisis lies in Beijing. After months of continuing missile tests by North Korea despite sanctions and global condemnation, Kim Jong-un’s regime claims to have tested a hydrogen bomb and once again launched an intercontinental ballistic missile over Japan. North Korea’s march toward wielding a nuclear arsenal against its neighbors and far off enemies, like the United States, is nearing completion. For Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), North Korea’s obstinate drive toward becoming a nuclear force has dealt Beijing a critical challenge at a moment when the party would prefer to focus on other matters seen as as essential to its rise as a regional and world power.

LONGEST WAR IN US HISTORY TURNS 16 TODAY – THOUSANDS DEAD, NO END IN SIGHT & IT’S GETTING WORSE

On this day 16 years ago, less than one month after 9/11, President George W. Bush delivered a televised address from the White House announcing the beginning of the Afghanistan War.

“On my orders, the United States military has begun strikes against al Qaeda terrorist training camps and military installations of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan,” he said.

What Bush did not say was the fact that the War in Afghanistan would become the longest war in United States history. Thousands of American lives and billions of taxpayer dollars would be wasted at the expense of the U.S. war machine, and the “War on Terrorism” would only create more terrorism as a result.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origin, he was - and continues to be- from a rational point of view, completely correct.

The war in Afghanistan was never about the then Afghan government not giving up Osama Bin Laden, the labeled terrorist allegedly ultimately responsible for 9/11.

And please remember: President Bush had business ties to the Bin Laden Family through the scandalous BBCI, in the creation of Arbusto Energy.

President Bush and the bin Laden family have been connected through dubious business deals since 1977, when Salem, the head of the bin Laden family business, one of the biggest construction companies in the world, invested in Bush's start-up oil company, Arbusto Energy, Inc. James R. Bath, a friend and neighbor, was used to funnel money from Osama bin Laden's brother, Salem bin Laden, to set up George W. Bush in the oil business, according to The Wall Street Journal and other reputable sources. Through a tangled web of Saudi multi-millionaires, Texas oilmen, and the infamous Bank of Credit and Commerce International, Bush was financially linked with the bin Laden family until Salem met an untimely end in a freak flying accident near San Antonio in 1988. The infamous BCCI was shut down in 1991 with some $10 billion in losses.

So one has to ask: did the "freak flying accident" which killed Salem Bin Laden a true "accident", or "wet work" (i.e., an assassination) to get him out of the way because he knew too much about the financial world of the Bush family?!? Understanding, as we now do, that the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika collectively use assassinations as a routine tool of statescraft, it certainly is not beyond the realm of possibility.

But getting back to Afghanistan, and the reason the OUSSA is still there; it's about controlling the pipelines; controlling the embarassment of riches in minerals, fattening the bottom line of the military-industrial complex and making absolutely certain that the opium continues to flow, for those OUSSA alphabet-soup agencies' off the shelf operations over which Congress has utterly zero oversight.

These are the reasons that NATO and the US are still occupying Afghanistan; the reasons, most likely, they will never leave Afghanistan, no matter how many of our service members get killed and maimed for life, not to mention the innocent Afghanis who will suffer the same fates.

This war has never been about "protecting America's way of life"; honor; bringing democracy to the Afghani people: it is all about the money, and the corporations who profit from this war, period, end of discussion.

Jimmy Carter: What I’ve learned from North Korea’s leaders

Over more than 20 years, I have spent many hours in discussions with top North Korean officials and private citizens during visits to Pyongyang and to the countryside. I found Kim Il Sung (their “Great Leader”), Kim Yong Nam, president of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly, and other leaders to be both completely rational and dedicated to the preservation of their regime.

What the officials have always demanded is direct talks with the United States, leading to a permanent peace treaty to replace the still-prevailing 1953 cease-fire that has failed to end the Korean conflict. They want an end to sanctions, a guarantee that there will be no military attack on a peaceful North Korea, and eventual normal relations between their country and the international community.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What President Carter is saying, is completely logical.

But on this issue, President Trump has backed himself into a rather intense geopolitical corner, and it's going to be a hard one to get out of.

All during his campaign, Trump swore that he would never allow North Korea to develop nuclear weapons; at this point, it is very likely that North Korea is either close to, or has developed, nuclear weapons.

They are also developing missles which can fly a longer trajectory than ever before, and are coming close to staging accurately, which means that they can hit at what they are aiming.

The following article is a very interesting history about a 72 year relationship between North Korea and the US government, and how the US broke its promises to North Korea, beginning in the Bush era:

What is Really Behind North Korea's nuclear provocations.

I absolutely agree with Preisident Carter, that what is desperately needed here, rather than bullets or bombs flying, is a quiet, good-faith conversation between the US; North Korea; South Korea; and Japan, to replace the armistice with an iron clad peace treaty, which guarantees open, unsanctioned trade; a guarantee of non-intervention by the US militarily; and the quid pro quo would be the cessation of North Korea's nuclear program.

Unfortunately, however, President Trump has dug his own hole on this, and has stepped up the rhetoric, doubling down on threats aganst North Korea.

And now with the coming US decertification of the P5+1 treaty, Kim Jung Un, and the world, will recognise that the US government is pathologically incapable of respecting its treaties, and keeping its geopolitical promises.

I am concerned that shooting war is coming here, as completely ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid as the justification for that war might be.

Chinese officials have stated that if the US military strikes the first blow, it will come to North Korea's defense; so from the American Military's perspective, it must appear that North Korea struck first.

One can never predict exact timing on such an event, but the Radioactive USS Ronald Regan is steaming through the South China Seas, to dock in South Korea for war games, and on the 10th of October, comes a very important national holiday for North Korea.

Kim Jong Un likes to pair national holidays with his rocket launches.

I would therefore suggest that we might be looking at a rocket launch which (courtesy of a US false flag) might go horribly wrong, and hit an American asset, or ally, very hard.

This, then, would be the "justification" for a US Alliance attack against North Korea, and the estimates for lives lost in such an operation, are staggering.

Trump Threatens as Iran Says Missile Program Not Up for Negotiation

Following up on yesterday’s report that President Trump is going to decertify the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran on the grounds it is “not in America’s interests,” he is stepping up threats against Iran, promising a “broad strategy” to punish Iran for all of its bad behavior.

Decertification would lead to a vote in Congress, which Trump appears to believe will lead to the US withdrawing from the P5+1. This isn’t going to take place until next week, however, which has fueled speculation Iran might be coerced into making new concessions to placate him.

Iran, however, says that this is not the case. Noting that they’re complying with the nuclear deal as it is, Iran has denied reports they’d be willing to negotiate on their conventional missile program, saying they believe demands for more concessions are a violation of the UN Security Council resolution on the nuclear deal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I mentioned yesterday, a US decertification of the P5+1 deal, would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid decision the Trump administration could make, at this point.

Of course, with President Whisperer, Israel's Benyamin Netanyahu constantly cheerleading for "regime change" in Tehran, the purpose of the decertification is to leave the US open to attempt a regime change by force.

I would like to strongly caution President Trump that Israel fully expects the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika to do this for him, but primarily at the costs of American blood and American money.

And Mr. President, I would like to politely remind you that Russian diplomats and chief military officers have consistently stated, that if Iran is attacked, Russia will come to its aid miilitarily.

Do you, sir, really want a war with Russia over regime change in Tehran?!?

I would suggest, sir, that if Mattis, McMaster and Kelly are being painfully honest with you, they will urge extreme caution, and tell you to your face that this is one hell of a lousy option, no matter how much Netanyahu screams at you on the phone that you MUST do it, to destroy its existential enemy, Iran.

I would also like to politely remind you, that Iran has not initiated a war in over 200 years.

U.S. approves possible $15 billion sale of THAAD missiles to Saudi Arabia

The U.S. State Department has approved the possible sale of a THAAD anti-missile defense system to Saudi Arabia at an estimated cost of $15 billion, the Pentagon said on Friday, citing Iran among regional threats.

The approval opens the way for Saudi Arabia to purchase 44 Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) launchers and 360 missiles, as well as fire control stations and radars.

“This sale furthers U.S. national security and foreign policy interests, and supports the long-term security of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region in the face of Iranian and other regional threats,” the Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation agency said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Of course, the Pentagon is keen to close this deal, and quickly, as Saudi Arabia's King just inked a deal with Russia for their fighter-killer s-400.

Saudi Arabia agrees deal for Russian S400 missile defense systems

The Pentagon clearly understands that it may well be the last US big weapons deal with Saudi Arabia for quite some time, due to the mediocracy, and extravagant costs, of US weapons systems, as opposed to huge strides in both Russian and Chinese weapons systems which come at significantly less expense than do their US competitors.

And as to the alleged "Iranian threat"; Sec Def Mattis, a short, pop quiz, please; when, in the last 200 years, has Iran initiated a war?!?

Sir, I hate to burst your bubble on this, but the short answer is, NEVER!!

REVEALED: U.S. Tested Carcinogenic Chemicals On Unknowing Canadian Civilians During The Cold War

By Aaron Kesel

The U.S. Army secretly tested carcinogenic chemicals on unknowing residents of Canada in Winnipeg and Alberta during the Cold War in testing linked to weaponry involving radioactive ingredients meant to attack the Soviet Union, according to classified documents revealed in a new book Behind the Fog: How the U.S. Cold War Radiological Weapons Program Exposed Innocent Americans by Lisa Martino-Taylor, an associate professor of sociology at St. Louis Community College.

The incidents occurred between July 9, 1953 and Aug 1, 1953 when they sprayed six kilograms of zinc cadmium sulfide onto unsuspecting citizens of Winnipeg from U.S. Army planes. The Army then returned 11 years later in 1964 and repeated the experiments in other parts of Canada including Suffield, Alta. and Medicine Hat, Alta., according to Martino-Taylor, National Post reported...

The U.S. Congress Is Trying to Give the F-35 a Pass for All Its Problems

The $700-billion defense authorization bill for 2018 contains a number of provisions that are likely to increase the risk of cost overruns for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program and undermine the ability of Pentagon officials and Congress to assess the combat suitability of new weapon systems in the future.

One of the central debates for the F-35 program is whether it will be more combat-capable than the systems it is replacing. The most controversial of these claims has been that the F-35 would be an acceptable close air support replacement for the A-10 — which even Air Force officials eventually backed away from.

Webmaster's Commentary:

WOW, I wonder how much, per Congressional representative, did Lockheed Martin have to pay for the language in this Defense Authorization Bill?!?

It must have cost them a bundle.

Trump Will Declare Iran Nuclear Deal ‘Not in the National Interest’

Officials familiar with the situation say that President Trump is intending to “decertify” the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran ahead of the October 15 deadline. With no evidence Iran is violating the deal in any way, he is going to instead claim it is just “not in the national interest of the United States” to honor the deal’s terms.

This has much the same effect as falsely claiming Iran to be in violation, as it would put the nuclear deal up for a vote in Congress. Though Congress has long expressed opposition to the deal, it’s likely to be controversial to cancel it years after its implementation for literally no reason.

President Trump is to give a speech surrounding the matter, expected next Thursday, and will lay out a broad strategy of confronting Iran, trying to blame them for all Middle East instability and terrorism. This would both be aimed at justifying the decertification, and setting the stage for another flurry of sanctions and threats to attack Iran

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please: walking away from the P5+1 deal will probably go down as the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid decision ever to be made by your administration so far.

To blame Iran for the instability in the Middle East, when it is the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of America which are generally responsible for creating the arc of instability (not to mention insanity) in the Middle East, moving Westward toward Russia, and Eastward toward China and Asia, appears, to most sane observers, to typify the behaviour here as that of the head of an empire which is on the desperate, utter brink of collapse.

Iran, as you should know, has not started a war in over 200 year; the same can hardly be said for either Israel, or the US, unfortunately.

IF you force the US to walk away from this deal, do you think that any leader of any country on the planet will believe that the US government can ever negotiate in good faith again?!? Mr. President, the short answer is, HELL, no!!

Walking away from this deal will probably translate into Iran getting back into their nuclear weapons program, because, like North Korea's Kim Jung Un, President Rouhani will realize that the only way to avoid an outright invasion from the US is to have a credible deterrent against it.

The P5+1 program is working; and the guys and gals at the IAEA have continued to certify, since the deal went into effect, that Iran is complying.

And Mr. President, I need to ask: what country's "national interests" are "injured" by the US complying with the deal?!?

You need to take a good, careful look at your key advisors, that unholy triumverate of "president whisperers" consisting of Kelly, Mattis, and Mc Master, who seem to believe that the only solutions to US geopolitical problem are more wars, and wars only; but there is a fourth, and we both know that is one Israeli Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu.

I feel compelled to strongly caution you that although Netanyahu and Tel Aviv have cheerled for regime change in Tehran for decades, they fully expect that outcome to be purchased primarily at the costs of American blood, and America money.

Also, sir, there is that "6000 lb gorilla in the living room" snoozing on the Bosendorfer on the issue of an attack against Iran; the name of the 6000 lb Gorilla is Russia. Russian military and civilian politicians have sworn, consistently, that should Iran be attacked militarily, Russia will come to its aid.

Mr. President, this country is broke; its military does not have the weaponry; the troop strength; the manufacturing; or the money to successfully engage militarily with the Russians in Iran.

I therefore respectfully, and sincerely, ask you to reconsider this decertification; this decision will, unfortunately, most likely, lead this country into a world war.

SAUDIS ROCK US ALLIANCE, SAY THEY’LL BUY RUSSIA’S TOP PLANE KILLER, S-400

That rumble under your feet you sensed this morning was the earthquake caused by the decision of one of America’s closest allies, Saudis Arabia, to join Turkey in buying Russia’s vaunted S-400 surface to air missile system.

The announcement carried extra diplomatic weight as Saudi King Salman was visiting Russia when the Saudis made the announcement.

Former NATO and European Command leader, retired Adm. James Stavridis, called the sale “a step backwards in US foreign and defense policy.” Since World War II, when President Roosevelt agreed with King Faisal that we would guarantee Saudi sovereignty in return for access to their oil, the kingdom has been one of our closest allies, notwithstanding the 911 attacks led by Saudi citizens.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Retired Adm. James Stavridis, a word, please.

It is very simple; the Russian weapons systems work as advertised, as demonstrated by the incredible performance they have given in Syria; right now, American weaponry is in a state of utter shambles, courtesy of lousy engineering and huge cost overruns at the public's expense, which the US military and Federal government simply allow to continue, courtesy of overt and covert "contributions" to political campaigns, and other causes near and dear to various movers and shakers in the Bowels of Power in the government of the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of America.

The entire culture of the weapons manufacturing industry has to change, and quickly, in order to fix this; otherwise, the US military will continue to be technologically gapped behind other weapons manufacturers in countries like Russia and China.

And that snit about the Saudis and 9/11: 9/11 was an inside job, co-facilitated by Israeli intelligence.

SYRIA - RUSSIA ISSUES THIRD WARNING AGAINST U.S. COOPERATION WITH TERRORISTS

The Syrian Army was on its way across the Euphrates river to liberate the oil- and gas-fields east of Deir Ezzor city. The U.S. countered the move. It sent a small forces of Arab tribal mercenaries who were earlier allied with the Islamic State (ISIS). These proxy forces came from a northern direction and moved through Islamic State held areas without fighting and casualties up to the walls of Deir Ezzor city.

The Syrian army was about to win the race when it started to cross the Euphrates. But it suddenly was surprised by a large al-Qaeda attack in southern Idleb province. That area had been quiet for months. 29 Russian troops who were supervising a deescalation zone there were nearly encircled by al-Qaeda forces. They only escape after an emergency relief operation had cut through al-Qaeda lines. The Russian Ministry of Defense accused the U.S. of having communicated the position of the Russian platoon to al-Qaeda.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears as though the Deep Staters in the Bowels of Power in the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika, have decided that a shooting war against Russia in Syria is a brilliant idea.

What Can Be Done?

Despite clear evidence that Washington has chosen the path to conflict with Russia and China, European governments have not objected. Poland, Ukraine, and the Baltics even seem to demand more conflict or a quicker path to conflict. The European peoples themselves have not elected leadership that is willing to repudiate vassalage to Washington and conduct a rational foreign policy toward Russia.

Xi Jinping tells Chinese defence firms to aim higher and catch up on weapons technology: Documentary aired on state television reveals push to develop supercomputing, ballistic missile defence and satellite navigation systems

President Xi Jinping has ordered Chinese defence firms to speed up weapons development and aim to do better than the world’s most powerful militaries, a documentary aired on state media revealed.

His list of areas to work on included supercomputing, ballistic missile defence and satellite navigation systems, according to one of eight episodes in the Powerful Military series shown on state broadcaster CCTV on Monday.
China has also been cultivating young scientific talent specialised in advanced military hardware as it tries to modernise the People’s Liberation Army, according to the documentary.

Dozens of advanced warships went into service last year as China stepped up its weaponry hardware to meet its goal of having a blue-water navy capable of operating globally.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Would that President Trump was giving the same pep talk to the US's weaopns developers.

The problems and failures with current US weapons, coupled with their exorbitant costs, have to be remedidied before this country's military can truly be completely battle-capable and battle ready.

As those of you know who read this blog, I abhor military conflict as the only way of resolving geopolitical differences; that being said, if our military needs to fight, I want them equipped with the best tools the US government can provide.

And right now, we're not there, in terms of weaponry which performs brilliantly and consistently.

CIA Official Predicts North Korean Provocation on Columbus Day

A top CIA official for the Korean Peninsula warned Wednesday that the U.S. should be ready for a new provocation by North Korea on Columbus Day on Oct. 9, which coincides with the anniversary of the founding of the political party that governs in Pyongyang.

"Stand by your phones," Yong Suk Lee, deputy assistant director of the CIA's Korea Mission Center, said while speaking at a conference organized by the agency at The George Washington University.

Lee added that Pyongyang historically has been controlled by its fear of the Chinese abandoning its support for the Hermit Kingdom, or that the U.S. would carry out a military strike. Kim Jong Un no longer has those fears, Lee said.

"There's a clarity of purpose in what Kim Jong Un has done," Lee said.

He added, however, that the likelihood remains low of North Korea purposefully starting a war with the U.S. or its allies like South Korea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's see; we have the radioactive USS Ronald Regan headed toward South Korea, for joint war games with the South Korean military; what could possibly go wrong here, with just the kind of activities Kim Jung Un finds an anathema?!?

My sense is that IF Kim Jong Un does not give the US military the provocation those in the Bowels of Power in the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika want, as an excuse to hit Noko militarily... one may well be provided for him, courtesy of a US false flag.

To attempt to guarantee China's neutrality, the US has got to make it look as though North Korea struck the first blow.

Historically, wars have been great for bringing this country out of the economic doldrums twice before; but what those Deep Staters in the Bowels of Power in DC refuse to recognise is, that was long before multiple countries had atomic weapons, such as Russia, China, Pakistan, and India.

Because all the military communications eastward into Asia come through Oahu, and living on a first strike target the Chinese can definitely obliterate, you can color Mike and me somewhat nervous about any conflict over North Korea in which the Chinese may believe they must engage on North Korea's side.

US Dominated Security Council Tightens Savage Sanctions on North Korea, Intentional Provocations to War

One can take passages from “The Pentagon Papers” and simply replace the name “North Vietnam” with “North Korea,” and we have an exact description of United States aggression toward North Korea today; this juxtaposition, on page 580 of the Bantam Edition of “The Pentagon Papers,” would read as follows:

“There may be a limit beyond which many Americans and much of the world will not permit the United States to go. The picture of the world’s greatest superpower trying to pound a tiny backward nation into submission on an issue whose merits are hotly disputed, is not a pretty one. It could conceivably produce a costly distortion in the American national consciousness and in the world image of the United States—especially if the damage to North Korea is complete enough to be ‘successful.’ The most important risk, however, is the likely Russian, Chinese and North Korean reaction to intensified US air attacks, harbor-mining, and ground actions against North Korea.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Any US first strike against North Korea will almost assuredly bring in China in North Korea's defense.

This country has morphed into an international bully, for the benefit of the bankers, war mongers, and munitions makers. None of this belligerence can possibly be comprehended as good for We the People. And if the following information is correct, we may well be looking at World War III sooner rather than later. As reported last month by rt.com:

US aircraft carrier group to be dispatched to Korean Peninsula amid rising tensions

The article goes on to state: "A US carrier group led by the USS Ronald Reagan will join US-South Korean naval drills that will take place near the Korean Peninsula in October, Japanese media report, citing the South Korean Defense Ministry.
On Monday, the ministry revealed its plans in a report it submitted to the National Assembly, Japan’s Asahi Shimbun reports. According to the report, Seoul asked Washington to send the USS Ronald Reagan from the US Navy’s 7th Fleet, based in the Japanese town of Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, to join the exercises scheduled for October."

This is confirmed by an article, dateline yesterday, from americanmilitarynews.com:

Report: US sending USS Ronald Reagan nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to Korea for military drills

Oh, and there is one, very specific problem with the USS Ronald Regan:
Contamination of the USS Ronald Regan from the Fukishima nuclear response, was vastly under-reported.

So what better "target" could the Occupied Unhinged Surveilled States of Amerika possibly provide, than a radioactive ship it cannot completely decontaminate as the "sacrificial lamb" for a false flag against it, to be blamed on North Korea?

Oxfam: Yemen cholera outbreak nearing largest in recorded history

Yemen's massive cholera outbreak could infect more than one million people by the end of the year, experts believe.

The World Health Organization's Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean reported 745,205 suspected cholera cases and 2,119 associated deaths in the country as of Wednesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Cholera has been used as a biological weapon as far back as WW2, when Japan dropped cholera cultures into Chinese wells. Like most biological weapons, cholera has a low secondary communicability, meaning that transmission from one human to another is very low. The primary means of infection is by eating and drinking food and water contaminated with the cholera bacteria. Cholera as a bioweapon is ineffective in modern industrialized nations as cholera can be cured, but is still effective against poorer nations that lack resources for treatment. The paid spread of cholera in Yemen (and for that matter in post-quake Haiti) has caused many to suggest that the outbreak is in fact a biological attack.

North Korea Seen Moving Missiles As US Admits For First Time It Is In "Direct Contact" With Pyongyang

Separately, on Saturday Secretary of State Rex Tillerson acknowledged for the first time that the US is in direct communication with the government of North Korea over its missile and nuclear tests – a stunning revelation considering that administration officials have until this point insisted that there has been only limited, indirect contact between the White House and the Kim regime. According to the New York Times, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson revealed as much during a speech at the residence of the US ambassador to Beijing after a meeting with Chinese leaders. Tillerson is in China on Saturday for what the NYT described as a “brief visit.”

“We are probing, so stay tuned,” Tillerson said when pressed about how he might begin a conversation with Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader, that could avert what many government officials fear is a significant chance of open conflict between the two countries.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a "fingers crossed for the even remote possibility here of a diplomatic coup", rather than war on the Korean Peninsula.

North Korea seen moving missiles from development center: report

Several North Korean missiles were recently spotted moved from a rocket facility in the capital, Pyongyang, South Korea’s Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) reported late Friday amid speculation that the North was preparing to take more provocative actions.

The report cited an unnamed intelligence source saying South Korean and U.S. intelligence officials detected missiles being transported away from North Korea’s Missile Research and Development Facility at Sanum-dong in the northern part of Pyongyang.

The report did not say when or where they had been moved.

The missiles could be either intermediate range Hwasong-12 or intercontinental Hwasong-14 missiles, according to the report, though the missile facility at Sanum-dong has been dedicated to the production of intercontinental ballistic missiles.

A source from South Korea’s Defense Ministry said he could not confirm details of the report or whether there has been any unusual activities in the area mentioned.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although unsourced, and I cannot find any mention of this movement at 38north.org, an organisation which studies the actions of North Korea primarily via satellite images, if, in fact, King Jung Un is going to be flinging missiles into the air, the next logical date for that to happen, in light of the fact that he loves to pair these launches with national holidays, would be Tuesday, 10 October, a major national holiday for North Korea.

Spectre of N. Korean atmospheric nuclear test prompts emergency plans in Seoul & Tokyo

South Korean banks and utility companies are drawing up plans to construct shielding and potentially move operations overseas to protect against North Korea as further provocation from Pyongyang is expected on October 10.
South Korean banks and vital infrastructure facilities, including nuclear power plants and government ministries, have reportedly been hacked by Pyongyang in the past. And as tensions in the region escalate, many now fear the North Korean regime will conduct an atmospheric nuclear test to coincide with the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea on October 10.

The South Korean government warned Thursday that its northern neighbor was "highly likely" to continue military provocations in the build up to the October celebrations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

10 October is one week from this Tuesday.

I really hope and pray that Kim Jung Un has the horse-sense not to do this, but one can never really know what his agenda may be.

He may well feel that he has no choice but to test something, as a reminder to the US and the West, that he is developing his nuclear energy program to defend against regime change in North Korea.

And with all of the vitriol and bluster from President Trump, Japan, and South Korea, at this point, who can blame him?!?

A war between the US and North Korea is 'now a real possibility,' an influential British think tank warns

The British think tank RUSI believes that a US-North Korea war is "a real possibility."

The war could be started by either side. It "will not be surgical or short," the think tank said, and there would be "scenes of carnage."
Even without nuclear weapons, such a war could kill hundreds of thousands of people in a week, produce millions of refugees, and wreck the global economy.
The UK should refuse to unconditionally support the US in this war, RUSI said.
An acclaimed British defence think tank has warned that war between North Korea and the United States is "now a real possibility" and that peaceful talks may no longer work to bring down tensions.

In a report Thursday, the Royal United Services Institute said a war could start in two main ways: Either Pyongyang could strike if it believes the US is planning a surprise attack, or Washington could strike if North Korea fires test missiles near Guam or California.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We have been told that there have been some "back channel" communications between representatives for North Korean and American Governments; but looking at the larger picture, it is difficult to imagine what those negotiations have actually acheived toward ratcheting down tensions here.

Tillerson is in Beijing right now, in discussions with his Chinese counterpart; I hope they are making some headway in dealing with Kim Jung Un, but these discussions are very very.....guarded, so it is hard to know what is going on. I would like to hope that when Tillerson gets back to the US, that there will be some progress to report.

THE US MILITARY IS QUIETLY BUILDING SKYNET

The US’s military leaders have agreed on a strategy to guarantee the US military retains its global dominance during the twenty-first century: Connect everything with everything, as DefenseOne describes it. The result? An unimaginably large cephapoloidal nervous system armed with the world’s most advanced weaponry, and in control of all military equipment belonging to the world’s most powerful army.

Sound familiar? It should...

A networked military – an extreme take on the “internet of things” - would connect everything from F-35 jets to the Navy’s destroyers to the armor of the tanks crawling over the land to the devices carried by soldiers – every weapon would be connected. Every weapon, vehicle, and device connected, sharing data, constantly aware of the presence and state of every other node in a truly global network.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What happens when one of the pieces of networked code in this 21st century Rube Goldberg contraption starts making autonomous decisions about how evil humankind has become, and decides to "cure the problem"?!?

Gee, what could go wrong?!? (other than everything)?!?

Patriotism Is A Two-Edged Sword — Paul Craig Roberts

On the Russian and Chinese side what can be done is a tri-party mutual defense pact between Russia, Iran, and China that is made public. If this is not a deterrent, then Washington and Israel are lost to evil, and life on earth is ended.

US Promises to Deploy ‘Strategic’ Military Assets Near Korean Peninsula

South Korean National Security Office chief Chung Eui-yong says that the US has committed to deploying more “strategic” military assets around the Korean Peninsula. Such deployments are to start later this year.

Details are scant, but Chung suggested the deployment was meant to show that there wasn’t “any crack” between the US and the South Korean government amid mounting US tensions with North Korea.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has insisted that he will not allow any US deployments of nuclear weapons into South Korea. This likely rules out a lot of such assets, though “strategic” assets could still include aircraft carriers and heavy bombers.

The caveat that the deployments will be “near” the Korean Peninsula could mean the US is planning buildups in Guam and Japan as well.

Netanyahu convenes security cabinet to discuss Iran missile threat

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday called a special meeting of his security cabinet following Iran’s testing of a ballistic missile that can reach Israel over the weekend.

The missile test, along with efforts to get world powers to cancel or fix the Iran nuclear deal, were the top priorities at the meeting, Israel Radio reported.

Netanyahu also planned to brief the body on his meetings last week in New York during which he held discussions with US President Donald Trump and separately with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that Iran gave Netanyahu a gift with this missile test; now, he has something else to talk about other than the corruption trial, coming up soon!!

US long overdue destroying its chemical weapons, Putin says as Russia completes disposal (VIDEO)

Unlike Russia, the US is not observing its own pledge to dispose of its chemical weapons arsenal, the President Vladimir Putin said ahead of the destruction of the last batch of Russian chemical weapons on Wednesday.

“Russia strictly complies with its international obligations, including those related to non-proliferation and reductions of weapons of mass destruction,” Putin said.

“Historically Russia was one of the largest holders of chemical weapons and the US remains one. Unfortunately the US is not observing the deadline for disposing of its chemical weapons. They have pushed the date back three times, citing a lack of funding. This, frankly, sounds strange,” he added.

US Joint Chiefs Chairman: Iran Honoring Nuclear Deal

US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joe Dunford offered an unusually stern rebuke of the push to withdraw from the P5+1 deal with Iran. Testifying to the Senate Armed Services Committee, he noted Iran was complying with the terms of the deal.

More importantly, Gen. Dunford warned that a US move to unilaterally withdraw from the deal would have huge ramifications internationally, raising global questions about America’s treaty obligations, and reliability as a partner in future negotiations.

After the ISIS Caliphate, Rojava

While the Syrian Arab Army, the Russian aviation and Hezbollah are preparing to finish off Daesh, the Pentagon is planning a new war against Syria, this time with Kurdish troops. Just as the mission of the Caliphate was to create a Sunnistan straddling Iraq and Syria, so the mission of “Rojava” is to create a Kurdistan straddling the two states, as the Pentagon has been publicly stating for the last four years.

According to US grand strategy, as defined by Admiral Cebrowski in 2001, and published in 2004 by his assistant Thomas Barnett, all of the Greater Middle East must be destroyed except for Israël, Jordan and Lebanon.

Consequently, the imminent victory against Daesh will change nothing of the Pentagon’s intentions.

Donald Trump has composed his administration of ex-senior civil servants from the Obama administration, a number of opportunistic politicians, many improvised representatives, and very very few trustworthy personalities.

Trump at War with Dissent

Trump continues finding ways to disgrace himself, the latest episode Friday evening, criticizing legitimate dissent.

It’s the highest form of patriotism, the comment attributed to Thomas Jefferson, whether or not he actually said it.

In 1961, The Use of Force in International Affairs publication used the phrase, asking

“(i)f what your country is doing seems to you practically and morally wrong, is dissent the highest form of patriotism?”

During the height of the Vietnam war in 1969, New York Mayor John Lindsey said

“(w)e cannot rest content with the charge from Washington that…peaceful protest(s) (are) unpatriotic…The fact is that this dissent is the highest form of patriotism.”

The late Howard Zinn and other distinguished figures said the same thing in similar or identical language.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As a Christian pacivist activist, I dissent from the OUSSA's official narrative, engineered to continue to legitimize the wars it fights; to continue the outsourcing of American jobs; and continue its general attitude of bullying, both at home and around the world.

I do it peacefully, never advocate violence, and always do my best to speak the truth.

While I would probably not kneel during the playing of the national anthem (at 68, I'd probably need a tractor to pull me up to vertical again!), I sincerely believe that individual professional athletes do have the right to dissent peacefully in this manner.

President Trump should not have invested at all in this argument, as he has bigger fish to fry, both domestically, and internationally right now; this is a major distraction from the real issues he is confronting.

In fact, it almost reminds me of the "missing Chandra Levey" case, featuring Congressman Gary Condit as the alleged bad guy, in the summer of 2001, right before 9/11.

So I have to wonder; from just what, please, is the OUSSA trying to distract us at this moment?!?

US Provides Military Assistance to 73 Percent of World's Dictatorships

Today, of course, we are told that we should support insurgents in Syria because Bashar al-Assad is an evil dictator, and we must repeatedly rattle our sabers at North Korea's Kim Jong-un and Russia's Vladimir Putin because they, too, are evil dictators.

This is part of the larger, usually unquestioned mainstream corporate media narrative that the US leads the "Western democracies" in a global struggle to combat terrorism and totalitarianism and promote democracy.

I set out to answer a simple question: Is it true? Does the US government actually oppose dictatorships and champion democracy around the world, as we are repeatedly told?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Not only is the Occupied Unhinged Surveilled States of America supporting the world's dictators; they are also committing war crimes, for example, with the OUSSA aiding and abetting Saudi genocide in Yemen.

I don't know about the rest of you; however, I am very morally uncomfortable being a citizen of a country which routinely indulges in war crimes with impunity, because the OUSSA can get away with these kinds of actions.

I would love for Mike and I to become citizens of a country which does not participate in these immoral and unethincal acts; somewhere picturesque, perhaps, like the Municipality of Andorra; unfortunately we are both too broke, and too old, to make this happen.

Death of Russian general in Syria is result of US hypocrisy – Moscow

The death of Russian Lieutenant-General Valery Asapov in Syria is the price Russia was forced to pay for hypocritical US policy, according to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.

“The death of the Russian commander is the price paid with blood for the hypocrisy of American policy in Syria," Ryabkov said on Monday.

General Asapov was serving as one of Russia’s military advisers in Syria. On Sunday, the Russian Defense Ministry said he was fatally wounded by an exploding shell in a sudden mortar attack by IS terrorists.

The deputy minister said Moscow wants Washington’s statements on fighting terrorism not to be at odds with its actions on the ground.

Meanwhile, the Russian and US militaries maintain “intensive” contacts at different levels, Ryabkov said.

On Sunday, the Russian Ministry of Defense published aerial images which they say show US Army special forces equipment located north of the Syrian town of Deir ez-Zor, where IS militants are deployed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am sensing that, in spite of all the intensive contacts between Russian and US military reps, those in the Bowels of Power in the Occupied, Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika may well find an "excuse" for engaging with the Russians directly in Syria, in order not to appear to be losing yet another military misadventure in the Middle East.

I hope to heck I am absolutely wrong on this; but looking at the messes the US has made of Afghanistan; Somalia; Iraq; and Libya, one can understand why the US government doesn't want the optics of the US attempt at "regime change" in Damascus to appear as another epic fail to the world.

Trump Accuses Iran of Cooperation with North Korea After Missile Test Launch

US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Iran was cooperating with Pyongyang following the latest Tehran's ballistic missile test.

"Iran just test-fired a Ballistic Missile capable of reaching Israel. They are also working with North Korea. Not much of an agreement we have!" Trump posted on Twitter.

On Saturday, Iranian media reported that the country had successfully carried out the test launch of a new ballistic missile, dubbed Khorramshahr, with a range of 2,000 kilometers (1,242 miles).

The new Iranian long range missile Khoramshahr (front) is displayed during the annual military parade marking the anniversary of the outbreak of its devastating 1980-1988 war with Saddam Hussein's Iraq, on September 22,2017 in

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, please think for a moment; if you were Iran's President Rouhani, and listening to American, Israeli, and Saudi authorities all screaming in unison about regime change in Tehran, would you not be wanting to be creating, and manufacturing, the best, and longest-range missiles your scientists could create?!?

Of course you would!!

And sir, where is your proof that North Korea is assisting Iran in its missile program?!? Wouldn't the situation actually be the converse, with Iran assisting North Korea, because North Korea's guidance and staging of their missiles needs much to be desired before they can actually target something successfully?!?

And please remember: As of October 17th, 2014, irandaily.com carried the following comment:

Iran argues that it has rejected nuclear weapons as incompatible with Islam and cites a fatwa of Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as proof. American and European officials remain skeptical, however, that the issue is really governed by Shia Islamic principles. They have relied instead on murky intelligence that has never been confirmed about an alleged covert Iranian nuclear weapons program.

But the key to understanding Iran's policy toward nuclear weapons lies in a historical episode during its eight-year war with Iraq. The story, told in full for the first time here, explains why Iran never retaliated against Iraq's chemical weapons attacks on Iranian troops and civilians, which killed 20,000 Iranians and severely injured 100,000 more. And it strongly suggests that the Iranian leadership's aversion to developing chemical and nuclear weapons is deep-rooted and sincere.

Can a Nation Be Mentally Deranged?

Apparently so. America is Exhibit A, run by recklessly dangerous lunatics no matter which right wing of its duopoly governance holds power. Clear proof is overwhelming.

Madness defines US policy. The nation is permanently at war on humanity, naked aggression by any standard, smashing one nonbelligerent nation after another, threatening others, responsible for millions of casualties, more daily, endless mass slaughter and destruction in multiple theaters, exploiting its own people viciously, serving its privileged class exclusively at the expense of most others.

America is on a slippery slope toward unthinkable nuclear war - North Korea, Iran, Russia and China prime targets.

Pentagon Greenlights $700 Million Program To Combat Commercial ISIS Drones

The Pentagon is throwing $700 million at a rapidly progressing program to combat the threat of commercial drone use by the Islamic State, The New York Times reports.

The program has commissioned U.S. defense contractors to begin attempting to find solutions to the drone threat, including using lasers to shoot them out of the sky. The technology is in its infancy and has yet to yield any significant results. ISIS has pioneered the use of relatively cheap commercial drones as airborne improvised explosive devices, for surveillance, and propaganda purposes.

The Pentagon program comes as it increases the number of U.S. troops in Syria to assist training for the Syrian Democratic Forces in the fight against ISIS. The Pentagon reportedly worries that its bases could be vulnerable to ISIS drone attacks, and it sees the broader trend in warfare.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly don't think that it is only commercial drone use by Isis the Pentagon is attempting to counter; please note that, to date, the US military has been unable to shoot any Korean test missiles out of the sky.

Enough Already With All The Bombast

Behind all the hysteria over North Korea lies the basic question: why would rather small North Korea embark on a nuclear war with the United States? Its leadership, however zany and eccentric, is in no mood to commit suicide. US nuclear weapons would vaporize North Korea before any of the missiles it might fire at North America could detonate. Having nuclear-armed missiles does not necessarily make one’s nation a public menace that must be destroyed. India has them. So do Pakistan and Israel, China and Russia. Add France and Britain. We don’t keep threatening to invade them and overthrow their governments. That’s why they are not threatening us.

DEEP STATE ADMITS THEY’VE FINALLY “GOTTEN A GRIP ON TRUMP” LIKEN HIM TO GEORGE W. BUSH

It is official. The deep state has admitted that Trump is now under their control and it is now business as usual — just like it was under Bush and Obama — and just like it would’ve been under Hillary.

For those who don’t remember, with the help of mainstream media—from The New York Times to Fox News—after 9/11, Americans were duped into accepting endless war by George W. Bush thanks to a constant bombardment of lies sold to the masses under the guise of “protecting freedom.” All one needs to do to realize no freedoms were protected by these wars, in which thousands of Americans died and hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians were slaughtered, is look around today.

US nuclear carrier conducts naval drills with Japan as N. Korea threatens H-bomb test

The 100,000-ton US Navy supercarrier ‘Ronald Reagan’ has conducted drills with Japanese warships south of the Korean Peninsula, Japan's military said. Pyongyang, meanwhile, has threatened a further “hydrogen bomb test” over the Pacific.
The Japan Maritime Self Defense Force said in a statement on Friday that the Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier ‘Ronald Reagan,’ based in the Japanese town of Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, and its escort ships have been holding drills with Japanese Navy vessels in waters south and west of Japan's main islands since September 11. The strike group is also set to stage a separate drill with the South Korean Navy in October, the Defense Ministry added.

Indian, Pakistani Armies Hold Cross-Border Talks Amidst Deadly Shelling

After a week of heavy cross-border shelling between Indian and Pakistani forces, the directors general of military operations (DGMOs) of both armies held a crucial meeting on Friday.

That meeting unfortunately made no headway, as both sides accused each other of violating the ceasefire. Pakistan alleged that shelling by Indian troops resulted in the death of six Pakistani civilians and injured 30. The Indian side vehemently denied having deliberately fired at civilians.

"DGMO-level talks on behest of Pak DGMO was held on September 22. During the talks the Pak DGMO raised the issue of targeting of Pakistani civilians opposite the Jammu sector," the Indian Army said in a statement on Friday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dear Russian Ambassador Sergei Lavroff: I know you are desperately trying to get North Korea and the US out of each other's faces; but if you have a spare moment, could you please talk India and Pakistan (both nuclear armed nations) out of creating mutually assured destruction by using such weapons against each other?!?

Because sir, if the excrement hits the ventillation shaft here, at warp speed, we are looking at the nightmare sceenario of India fighting with its ally, the US, against Pakistan, and potentially China.

Thank you.

"We Will Not Seek Permission": Defiant Iran Unveils New Ballistic Missile

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani delivered another snub to the Trump administration on Friday when he said that Iran would continue its missile program in defiance of US sanctions, and to underscore the determination, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard unveiled its newest long-range ballistic missile during a military parade in Tehran.

The new missile that was introduced at the parade is capable of reaching much of the Middle East, including Israel, with a range of 1,200 miles. It's also capable of carrying several warheads. The parade in Tehran commemorated the 1980s Iraq-Iran war. Though Iran has long boasted of having missiles in the same range in its arsenal, it was the first time that the new Khoramshahr missile was displayed in public, the AP reported adding that in February, Iran test-fired the same medium-range type of missile, prompting Trump to say that the United States is "putting Iran on notice."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Look, with the US, Israel, and Saudi Arabia collectively breathing down Iran's neck, in terms of screaming "regime change" at Tehran, if you were Rouhani, wouldn't you be looking at producing the best weapons possible, as a deterrent to that regime change?!?

Of course you would!!

China Fears "Vicious Circle" On Korean Peninsula, US Sees "Tipping Point" If Kim Tests H-Bomb Over Pacific

In a considerably more aggressive, and less diplomatic, 'story' in China's government mouthpiece Xinhua, writers warn:

"It is not hard to tell that the situation has become a vicious circle where more missile tests trigger more sanctions, while more sanctions trigger more tests..." urging the double-freeze solution once again, saying that "the parties concerned need to respect each other's security concerns."

However, following last night's less than veiled threat from North Korea that the next escalation will be to test a hydrogen-bomb over the Pacific:

North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho suggested leader Kim Jong Un was considering testing “an unprecedented scale hydrogen bomb” over the Pacific in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat at the United Nations to “totally destroy” the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I fully expect that either North Korea is going to haul off, and test some kind of a bomb, (or the US will create a false flag to make it appear that he has done so), and relatively soon.

The North Korean holiday, Party Foundation Day, comes up on 10 October, and Kim Jung Un likes to "couple" missile tests with national holidays: he may decide to do such a test then, or perhaps sooner.

But Youtube has just done something completely, thoroughly, amazingly idiotic, realtive to North Korea; as reported at 38north.org, a program run by Duke University to track what North Korea is doing via satellite.

Thanks to YouTube, North Korea Has Just Become Even More Opaque

The article goes on to state:

"YouTube’s decision to delete North Korean YouTube channels has served to highlight the sometimes-unintended consequences of sanctions and the absolute power enjoyed by Internet companies over their users. In doing so, the company has cut off a vital supply of video used by open source researchers, which means there is now less visibility into what’s happening in North Korea. The Western world’s understanding of North Korea is limited to begin with, cutting off access to these few windows into North Korean thinking and life further hampers our knowledge of the country.

On September 8, some in the open source intelligence community logged on to YouTube to find the “Uriminzokkiri” (우리민족끼리) channel was gone.

The only explanation from Google was a simple notice: “This account has been terminated for violating YouTube’s community guidelines.” At about the same time, the same message appeared on the “StimmeKoreas” YouTube channel."

Could the timing possibly have been any worse, in this very dangerous moment when it appears that the US and North Korea appear to be closer to actual military conflict than they have for years ?!?

I think not.

Never Forget: The US Government Has A Known History Of Using False Flags

When it comes to 9/11, there are two groups of people: those who don’t know exactly what happened, and those who orchestrated it.

Nearly everyone on earth belongs in the former category, but a lot of folks like to pretend they have a rock solid understanding of the events which transpired on that fateful day in 2001. Scoffing mainstream adherents like to pretend they’re confident that the official narrative is accurate, but they aren’t. A lot of hardcore conspiracy analysts like to pretend they know the real story, but they don’t.

There’s simply not enough publicly available information for anyone to be certain exactly how things went down that day; all we can know for sure is that (A) the official story is riddled with plot holes, and (B) the American power establishment has an extensive and well-documented history of using false flags and propaganda to manipulate the public into supporting evil acts of military interventionism.

U.S. DEFENSE SECRETARY JIM MATTIS WEIGHS USING “KINETIC WEAPON” ON NORTH KOREA

U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis hinted at using a kinetic weapon on Tuesday while discussing tensions with North Korea when he made a Freudian slip.

Mattis was asked whether there was “any military option the US can take with North Korea that would not put Seoul at grave risk,” Mattis responded, “Yes, there are, but I will not go into details.”

Later during the press conference, another reporter questioned Mattis and caught him off-guard:

“Just to clarify, you said that there were possible military options that would not create a grave risk to Seoul,” a reporter asked. “Are we talking kinetic options as well?”

“Yes, I don’t want to go into that,” Mattis responded.

Previously, Mattis stated that a war with North Korea would “involve the massive shelling of an ally’s capital, (South Korea) which is one of the most densely packed cities on earth.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

But can this weapon prevent the deployment of heavy conventional artillery, as is commonly known to be dispersed in bunkers all over North Korea, and aimed at South Korea?!?

That is a question I wish some reporter would ask Sec-Def Mattis, and soon.

F-35 Ejection Seat to Kill, Wound 22 US Pilots - Government Watchdog

The F-35 Joint Program Office has skimped out on spending a few million dollars to conduct more thorough testing of the fifth-generation plane’s potentially lethally flawed ejection seat despite its generous $400 billion budget.

Given how much flight time the US military plans to use the F-35 for, 22 pilots are projected to suffer injuries or be killed over the lifetime of the plane’s use because of insufficient testing, according to the report first obtained by CQ Roll Call.

The internal report created by the Technical Airworthiness Authority said the failure to implement extra safety tests is bound to prove “catastrophic,” the Stripes report states. “No less than $1 million” and 9 to 12 months of testing could lower the risk of pilot injury or death from 22 to zero, TAA said in its report dated May 1.

Strongest attacks on Syrian Army come from where opposition & US forces stationed – Russian MoD

The Syrian Army liberating the Deir ez-Zor region from terrorists is facing strong resistance and massive fire from areas where armed opposition groups and US forces are stationed, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The Syrian Army continues to liberate the Euphrates valley to the east of Deir ez-Zor with the help of the Russian Air Force, the statement from the ministry says, adding that the government forces have already retaken more than 60 square kilometers on the left bank of the Euphrates from Islamic State (IS, former ISIS/ISIL).

The Syrian Army, however, faces resistance not only from jihadists, but also apparently from US-backed armed opposition groups, according to the statement

Dangerous Words of Escalation: Trump Threatens to Abandon Iran’s Nuclear Deal as Israeli Officials Call for Action Against Iran

Once again, the annual United Nations General Assembly is taking place in New York City with U.S. President Donald Trump set to take center stage as he is expected to focus on the North Korean Crisis and the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

As the Western media’s attention has been focused on the North Korea crisis (which is also another very serious matter), another development has been taking place in Tel Aviv, as calls for action by Israeli officials against Iran’s Nuclear Program although it’s not a new development (it’s been going on for many years). Channel 2 on Israeli TV reported that Mossad chief Yossi Cohen is calling on the Israeli government to take action against the Iranian government. The Times of Israel reported that

“Channel 2 on Sunday paraphrased Cohen as asserting that “Today’s Iran is the North Korea of yesterday, and so we need to act now so that we don’t wake up to [an Iranian] bomb.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to politely point out that Israel was not a signatory to the P5+1, therefore has utterly no business in attempting to get the US from walking away from this treaty.

I would also like to politely point out that Iran has signed the NNPT: Israel has not.

I would also like to politely point out that Iran hasn't started a war in over 200 years.

IF President Trump has any horse-sense left, he will not allow Netanyahu to "charm" him into another Middle Eastern war, where the outcomes of US military intervention have not quite been stellar; think Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, and Syria, and you will catch my drift.

IF both Israel and Saudi Arabia believe that a war against Iran is in their best interests, as both consider Iran their "existential enemy", let them fight it; such a war is definitely NOT in the interests of We the People, and I do hope President Trump understands this.

ISRAEL AND US OPEN FIRST AMERICAN MILITARY BASE IN ISRAEL

Israel and the U.S. inaugurated the first American military base on Israeli soil on Monday, which will serve dozens of soldiers operating a missile defense system.

The move comes at a time of growing Israeli concerns about archenemy Iran's development of long-range missiles. Together with the U.S., Israel has developed a multilayered system of defenses against everything from long-range guided missile attacks from Iran to crude rockets fired from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.

The base's opening is largely symbolic and isn't expected to bring operational changes. But the Israeli military says that along with other measures, it sends a message of readiness to Israel's enemies.

"It's a message that says Israel is better prepared. It's a message that says Israel is improving the response to threats," said Brig. Gen. Zvika Haimovich, the commander of Israel's aerial defense.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although this didn't make it to the presstitute corporate news outlets in this country, this base makes a joint Israeli/US strike against Iran far more potentially feasible, and nearer in schedule than it might have been before.

US-Kiev rejection of Russian initiative proves more war in store for Donbass —

Ukraine’s and the United States’ refusal to work on the text of Russia’s draft resolution on deploying a UN contingent in Donbass to ensure security of the OSCE mission reveals their real plans to realize a kind of the Croatian scenario, Denis Pushilin, the chief negotiator for the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic at the pace talks in Minsk, said on Monday.

"Ukraine’s and the United States’ refusal to work on the text of the Russia-initiated draft resolution on a UN mission in Donbass reveals the real motives of the Western partners. Such actions openly show what [Ukrainian President] Pyotr Poroshenko and his American friends really want," the Donetsk News Agency quoted him as saying.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At this moment in its history, the government of the Occupied, Unhinged Surveilled States of Amerika, appears to be pathologically incabable of resolving its geopolitical differences in any way other than war.

The country I thought I knew, as a kid growing up, seemed to be much more intellectually, and morally capable of getting its way through hard-won, intelligent negotiations; but perhaps I was just fooling myself in that assessment, even back then.

DEFENSE CONTRACTORS ON CLOUD 9

The Senate is expected to pass by a wide margin a $700-billion defense bill today. When it comes to extravagant military spending, Congress is relentlessly bipartisan, and all bickering stops, as long as the bacon gets spread to every district and state.

“The 1,215-page measure defies a number of White House objections, but Trump hasn’t threatened to veto the measure,” the Washington Post mused. “The bill helps him honor a pledge to boost military spending by tens of billions of dollars.”

So who gets this money?

It’s going to get spread around, but defense contractors are going to get a chunk of it, and they’ve been on cloud 9 all year. Their shares – fired up by plenty of saber-rattling – have mostly soared from all-time high to all-time high.

These are some of the biggest defense contractors and their shares year-to-date as of this morning:

Rockwell Collins (COL), to be acquired by United Technologies: $130.90, up 40.6% YTD

Webmaster's Commentary:

An absolutely staggering amount of your tax dollars get devoted to killing, and the technological refinement of killing, world wide; that is what this defense budget is about.

And these are some of the examples of what these weapons do: (warning: graphic images).

Over 160 children reported among US drone deaths

Images: Afghani funeral, US drone strike

US drone strike kills Afghani children

Images: US/Saudi bombing slaughters Yemeni children; massive malnutrition in Yemeni children; cholera sweeping Yemen

And this bugdget has been approved b "our" Senate while:

Fires blaze out of control in the Western US, while floods and storms ravage the South and West because the American infrastructure has been allowed to rot; homeless Vets sleep rough in our streets; homelessness and disease ravage this country; our alleged education system is simply a system of inidoctrination only; and jobs continue to be offshored and outsourced, destroying what was left of the middle class.

So do not believe, for one moment, that your "alleged Congressional Representatives" really represent you; at this point in this country's history, they represent only the interests of those corporations like those corporations named above, and this budget is to keep them financially flush, and well fed, just as they keep overt and covert campaign contributions "flowing" to the members of Congress who approve budgets like this.

In "Warning To Pyongyang", B-1B Bombers, F-35s Hold Mock Bombing Drills

Both Haley and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson appeared on the Sunday talk shows to stress – using language that’s ringing increasingly hollow - that the administration wouldn’t hesitate to authorize a military response to the North should diplomacy fail.

And to demonstrate that, four US F-35 stealth fighters and two B-1B bombers conducted another round of "mock bombing exercises" over the Korean peninsula on Monday, according to Reuters. The US aircraft, which were joined by four South Korea F-15K fighter jets, returned to their bases in Japan and Guam after the exercise, but the latest demonstration of western capabilities likely assures that Kim Jong Un, who views such exercises in the same way the international community views his missile launches, will seek to retaliate with his own show of force.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unless President Trump is willing to kill millions of South Koreans, courtesy of North Korea's conventional arms poised against it, there is precious little he can do, militarily, against the country.

North Korea Warns More Sanctions Will Only Accelerate Its Completion Of A Nuclear Force

In the ongoing game of escalating verbal ping-pong, North Korea responded on Monday to the latest condemnation by the UN Security Council which responded to Pyongyang Friday missile launch with a harsly worded verbal rebuke, and warned that the more sanctions pursued by the US and its allies, "will only increase our pace towards the ultimate completion of the state nuclear force,” KCNA reported, citing ministry of foreign affairs.

The latest sanctions represent “the most vicious, unethical and inhumane act of hostility to physically exterminate the people of the DPRK, let alone its system and government,” a foreign ministry spokesman said, as cited by Reuters.

The North Korean statement also said that “it is a foolish dream to hope that the sanctions could work with the DPRK while the sanctions have failed to stop it from becoming a full-fledged nuclear weapons state and making rapid progress in the building of an economic power for more than half a century.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is not a question of what Kim Jung Un says he is going to do; it is a question of what he is willing to do.

And understanding that Mike and I live on a first-strike target the Chinese can actually hit, that makes us....more than a little nervous.

Bangladesh warns Myanmar over border amid refugee crisis

Bangladesh has accused Myanmar of repeatedly violating its air space and warned that any more “provocative acts” could have “unwarranted consequences”, raising the risk of a deterioration in relations already strained by the Rohingya refugee crisis.

Nearly 400,000 Rohingya Muslims from western Myanmar have crossed into Bangladesh since Aug. 25, fleeing a Myanmar government offensive against insurgents that the United Nations has branded a “textbook example of ethnic cleansing”.

Bangladesh said Myanmar drones and helicopters had violated its air space three times - on Sept. 10, 12 and 14 - and it had called in a top Myanmar embassy official in Dhaka to complain.

“Bangladesh expressed deep concern at the repetition of such acts of provocation and demanded that Myanmar takes immediate measures to ensure that such violation of sovereignty does not occur again,” the ministry said in statement late on Friday.

“These provocative acts may lead to unwarranted consequences.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

From an east/west forum article, created in 2013, we find the following information:

The military governments fought long running wars against ethnic armed groups struggling for self-determination and independence. These conflicts inflicted a heavy toll, both in terms of casualties and the creation of large refugee populations. The armed conflicts have held back development in ethnic minority areas.

Myanmar is heavily dependent on natural resources and for decades the military governments exploited natural resources with almost complete disregard of the socio-economic impact on the local population. Concessions were granted to unethical international partners to extract timber, jade and mineral resources without even basic transparency of earnings. Due to this poor record, the Revenue Watch Institute ranked Myanmar as having the worst resource governance among 58 countries studied.

Resource rich ethnic states have been targeted for predatory resource extraction, which has served to perpetuate the animosity towards successive military governments. While the latest 2010 estimate puts the national poverty headcount at 26 per cent, rates are far higher among many of the minority groups. It is noteworthy that three out of the four poorest areas are ethnic minority states. The incidence of poverty in Chin State alone is almost three times the national average. This suggests a vicious cycle whereby conflict holds back development and under-development in itself feeds a sense of relative deprivation.

So I have to speculate: what about the natural resources existing in the Rakhine state?!? Are they worth the creation of a texbook ethnic cleansing campaign against the Rohingya people, in order to clear them out, before some natural resouce can be revealed and extracted for its monetary value to the Myanmar state, from which the Rohingya will never be allowed to profit?!?

UN Security Council Resolution 2375 on North Korea: Preparation for War?

This formula begins with sanctions under Chapter VII of the UN Charter: approximately eleven sanctions have been inflicted upon North Korea, and four presidential statements. The sanctions are, in themselves aggressive action, intended to weaken and demoralize the intended nation-targeted victim, and ultimately destroy the will, the spirit and unity of the nation. The now twelve sanctions on the DPRK are reminiscent of the words Richard Nixon used for the CIA engineered destruction of the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende in Chile:

“Make the economy scream!!”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US position, over decades, has forced Kim Jung Un and his predecessors into the only posture he believes will save his country; creating a creadible nuclear threat, in order to prevent regime change in Pongyang.

I cannot tell you precisely when this war will start; but China has already announced that if the US fires first, they will stand with North Korea.

That means that we are most likely looking at either a US/ South Korean decap strike against Kim Jung Un, or a false flag, to be blamed on North Korea, to get a military strike against it justified.

But either way, my sense of this is that it will come relatively quickly; within the next couple of months, perhaps.

What the US government dares not wait for, is for Kim to actually acquire or develop the nuclear weapon he wants to use as a threat against US intervention, so my sense is that the action will come sooner rather than later.

How NBA star Dennis Rodman came to stand between the world and nuclear war

Earlier this year Rodman’s agent said that his client helped convince North Korea to release American college student Otto Warmbier before his death. Now, nearly everyone else involved with Warmbier’s release has denied that Rodman had much to do with it, but the mere fact that he was in position to take credit is proof enough that he has become the unlikely face of US-North Korean relations. As North Korea expert Ken Gause said to Time that “he’s not the best ambassador we could have but it’s who we have.”

In just about any other situation, Gause would be correct in describing Rodman as an utterly inappropriate ambassador – as the man himself admits “[Kim and I] ride horses, we hang out, we go skiing, we hardly ever talk politics and that’s the good thing.” Rodman also fundamentally lacks the tact and restraint required in most diplomatic situations, and has a tendency to make events all about himself.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, we are past the point where Rodman could possibly do any real good, and as of 1 September, Americans are forbidden from going there; it appears that the Deep State of the Occupied Unhinged Surveilled State of Amerika is utterly ready to declare war on both North Korea...and the world.

North Korea Preparing For ICBM Launch: Japan Press

Gold spiked and USDJPY tumbled as headlines from Japan's Nikkei newspaper confirmed US military officials' observations last night that North Korea is said to show signs of missile launch preparation.

According to the Nikkei, citing an unidentified Japanese government official, the missile is being prepared for launch has engine for liquid fuel, suggesting missile is an ICBM. It adds that the missile is said to be fueled already, ready for launch. As Japan's Asahi further notes, the North Korean missile prep may be for a Hwason 14 ICBM and adds that missile prep is said to have started on Wednesday.

The immediate reaction was a risk-off spike in the Yen and dollar.

 Sanction America, Not North Korea

Ideally, sanctions should be abolished, prohibited for any reasons.

They’re counterproductive, achieving pain and suffering alone for ordinary people in targeted countries, nothing else.

As long as they’re permitted, legally by Security Council members alone, illegal unilaterally, sanction America for its high crimes of war and against humanity, not North Korea, threatening no other countries - even though a US veto would block adoption.

A symbolic 14 - 1 statement would send a powerful message, especially if enough world community nations no longer are willing to put up with endless US wars on humanity.

The leadership of any country threatened by Washington would be foolhardy not to seek powerful weapons and munitions for self-defense.

Abandonment of powerful weapons programs by Iraq and Libya led to their rape and destruction by US-led aggression - a lesson well understood in Pyongyang.

The Pentagon's $2.2 Billion Soviet Arms Pipeline Flooding Syria

he defeat of Islamic State in Syria is reliant on a questionable supply-line, funnelling unprecedented quantities of weapons and ammunition from Eastern Europe to some 30,000 anti-ISIS rebel fighters.

Armed with AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades fresh from state-owned production lines and stockpiles of the Balkans, Central Europe and increasingly the former Soviet Union, these US-backed troops are spearheading the battle to reclaim Raqqa, the capital of the so-called caliphate, and liberate other areas of Syria held by ISIS.

But the flow of weapons to these Pentagon-backed militia depends on misleading official paperwork, an investigation by the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, BIRN, and the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, OCCRP, has uncovered.

The operation has been criticised by arms transfer experts and even worried officials in Berlin, who have seen large quantities of weapons passing through US military bases in Germany on the way to Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The "good reason" is the alleged fight against ISIS in Syria; however, the "real reason" for drowning these jihadists in Soviet-era weapons is, again, still, the American goal of regime change in Damascus.

I am having a Picard double-face-palm, at warp speed, upon reading this!!

It is just a matter of time before US and Russian forces tangle in Syria; and that outcome could get very nasty, and very quickly.

New U.N. Report Cites Terrorists, Blames Assad For Chemical Weapons With No Real Evidence

By Brandon Turbeville

The United Nations is marching ahead with its task of acting as the Anglo-Financier administrative arm of the world corporate-financier government structure with its recent “report” aimed at the Syrian government. According to Western corporate media outlets who are reporting the story with unconcealed glee, the United Nations “war crimes investigators” produced a report blaming the Syrian government for chemical weapons attacks at Khan Sheikhoun and nearly two dozen other incidents.

The United Nations team stated that there had been 33 incidents investigated; 27 were the fault of the Syrian government and perpetrators had not yet been identified in the other seven. In other words, all of the alleged chemical weapons incidents were the fault of the Syrian government except for the ones they have yet to determine.

However, there are many problems with the stance of the report, its methodology, and its purpose...

North Korea Threatens To "Sink" Japan With Nuclear Weapons, "Reduce The US To Ashes"

Less than a day after US officials observed North Korea moving mobile missile launchers and engaging in preparations for what appears to be another missile test, a North Korean state committee has stepped up its belligerent rhetoric, threatening to use nuclear weapons to “sink” Japan and reduce the US to “ashes and darkness” after the UN Security Council passed new sanctions against the isolated country earlier this week, Reuters reported. The North also accused the US of “cooking up” the latest restrictive measures against it and demanded that the US be beaten “to death as a stick is fit for a rabid dog.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The rhetoric, we're used to by now; the question is, what will Kim Jung Un actually do, and when will he do it?!?

38north.org had the following article in its blog yesterday:

North Korea’s Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site: Satellite Imagery Shows Post-Test Effects and New Activity in Alternate Tunnel Portal Areas

China is limited in what it can actually do to calm Kim Jung Un down, but the statement has been made that should the US attack first, China will defend North Korea.

So I have to wonder; what "sacrificial lamb" spot in the US has been chosen by those in the Bowels of Power in the Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika to make it appear that North Korea hit the US first, to give cover for a multi-pronged attack against it?!?

If Hawaii has been chosen, it would not be the first time that has happened, because of its remote location relative to the continental US.

The Case Against the Iranian Nuclear Deal Is One Big Lie

The latest round in their campaign was U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley’s disingenuous and falsehood-filled speech at the American Enterprise Institute last week. The speech is useful in one sense: it provides a handy summary of just about every creative and mendacious argument that die-hard opponents of the JCPOA have been cooking up since the agreement was signed. Unfortunately, it is neither an accurate guide to the agreement, to its current status, nor more importantly, to U.S. interests.

Among other things, Haley claimed — falsely — that the deal “gave Iran what it wanted up-front, in exchange for temporary promises to deliver what we want.” The truth is about 180 degrees from this claim: Iran gave up enriched uranium, destroyed 13,000 centrifuges, dismantled the Arak reactor, let the U.N. install monitoring devices, implemented the NPT Additional Protocol, and a host of other measures — all before the United States or anyone else began lifting sanctions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am deeply concerned that the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, Under President Trump's watch, are stumbling into a war against Iran after successfully pushing it out of the P5+1 Treaty.

This ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid move on the part of the USSA, may result not only in a war against Iran, in the name of "regime change", but also a war against Russia, which has consistently pledged to come to Iran's rescue, should it be attacked militarily.

And the greatest cheerleaders for such a war are none other than President Trump's BFFs in the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, and Saudi Arabia's Prince Salman.

So President Trump, let me please strongly caution you about the horrific, and dark, consequences for such initiating such a war, where the US will absolutely NOT be on the right side of history: both Netanyahu and Prince Salman are hounding you for regime change in Tehran, but only at the costs of American blood, and American money, and the costs will outweigh the benefits by too wide a margin to even be conceived as a rational plan.

Time to think this one through carefully, appreciate what the US DOES have as a signatory to the P5+1, and come up with a Plan B.

16 years ago, we began a “war on terror” that will never end

On the 16th anniversary of 9/11, a prescient Hunter S. Thompson column from the day after the attacks was shared on social media. Thompson wrote at ESPN on Sept. 12, 2001:

The towers are gone now, reduced to bloody rubble, along with all hopes for Peace in Our Time, in the United States or any other country. Make no mistake about it: We are At War now — with somebody — and we will stay At War with that mysterious Enemy for the rest of our lives.

Thompson couldn’t have been more right. More than a decade and a half since the attacks, the United States has led regime change in Iraq and Libya and is still bogged down in the longest war in American history in Afghanistan. During that time, Al-Qaeda has been diminished but remains. A group even more extreme that al-Qaeda, the Islamic State (also sometimes known as ISIS), has risen in the power vacuums created by U.S. interventions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Unhinged, Surveilled States of Amerika will most probably self destruct in one of two ways; either in a world war it has generated, but is unable to win for many complex reasons, including not being on the moral side of history, and not having the weapons, troop strength, manufacturing, or money to successfully see it through to its end positively, or ... through a complete economic collapse.

I wish I could come up with a third, positive, rosy view if what may be coming, but I honestly cannot.

Turkey Signs Russian Missile Deal, Pivoting From NATO

ISTANBUL — In the clearest sign of his pivot toward Russia and away from NATO and the West, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Tuesday that Turkey had signed a deal to purchase a Russian surface-to-air missile system.

The deal cements a recent rapprochement with Russia, despite differences over the war in Syria, and comes as Turkey’s ties with the United States and European Union have become strained.

It is certain to stir unease in Washington and Brussels, where officials are trying to keep Turkey — a longtime NATO member, and an increasingly unlikely candidate for European Union membership — from entering Russia’s sphere of influence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Too late on that last one; Turkey is now definitely "Under the influence" of Russia, as witnessed by this deal.

RAND PAUL PROPOSES DEFENSE BILL AMENDMENT TO REPEAL WAR POWERS

The U.S. Senate will hold a vote on an amendment to the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) tomorrow. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) presented an amendment seeking to sunset the 2001 and 2002 Authorizations for Use of Military Force (AUMF). This will be the first time the Senate has held a vote regarding the AUMF since 2002.

The amendment would not only repeal the 2001 AUMF, but would also repeal the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. The 2001 AUMF was passed in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, while the 2002 AUMF was passed in order to authorize the Iraq War.

The amendment would also require Congress to hold a vote to approve any future authorization of military force. According to Sen. Paul, most senators do not want to take any responsibility for America’s ongoing wars, and would rather refuse to vote on authorizing any future wars.

If passed, it would be six months before the amendment would go into effect.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although this bill is a nuanced and moral stand by Rand Paul, I frankly don't see its passing in the Senate.

the acceptance of money from Defense contractors, overt and covert, coupled with the absolute lack of taking any responsibility for the havoc and devastation these horrific American wars have cost this country and the world, is just too comfortable a place for most Senators to leave.

Congress has stopped representing We the People for quite some time now; the only entities they represent are those large corporations which pay them to do so.

They have become useless and irrelevant, for all the "Kabuki theatre" of the election process in this country.

UN Nuclear Watchdog Defends Iran Deal

The UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), is responsible for verification of the P5+1 nuclear deal with Iran. This means they offer monthly assessments, all of which have affirmed Iran is in total compliance with its requirements under the deal.

Monthly reminders of that fact are increasingly seen as insufficient, however, with the US government publicly attacking the pact and making wild accusations of unspecific Iranian violations. Now, IAEA officials feel obliged to publicly defend the concept of a deal, the nature of this specific deal, and Iran’s compliance all at once.

IAEA chief Amano Yukiya today defended the deal’s verification program as the “most robust” ever, noting that the IAEA has dramatically increased its number of inspections in Iran since the deal was signed, calling the pact a “clear and significant gain.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The above was posted at antiwar.com, accompanied by the very troubling headline below:

Trump to weigh more aggressive strategy on Iran

I would very strongly caution President Trump against taking a more martial posture against Iran, and will politely remind him of the following: his BFF in the Middle East, Israel's Prime Minister Beyamin Netanyahu, is constantly clamoring for regime change in Tehran; but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

His perspective on Iran is thoroughly clouded by as much anti-Iranian propaganda the Israelis, and AIPAC, can steer his way.

And then, there is the sure and certain reality that if hostilities escalate into a shooting war between the US and Iran, Russia will most likely come to Iran's aid militarily.

AT HOME IN GAZA

Wissam Nassar, a Gaza-born photojournalist who has worked in the coastal enclave for the past eight years, has seen it all. He lives a life surrounded by war and reconstruction but finds the most authentic images he makes as a photographer in the subtler moments of reprieve.

“My family and I are refugees,” Nassar tells TIME, as he recalls growing up in Gaza as one of eight children from what he calls a very “working class family.” Nassar was first inspired to begin documenting Gaza’s most turbulent times while in college. He began his professional career covering the past three Israeli-Hamas wars in 2008, 2012 and 2014.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please share these images with everyone you know, and ask them: why is the US government supporting a wretchedly apartheid Israel, a bristlingly nuclear and conventional weapons-armed nation, which persists in generating this open-air misery for the people of Gaza from which they cannot escape?!?

State Dept Approves $3.8 Billion Arms Sales to Bahrain

The US State Department has approved $3.8 billion in weapons sales to the tiny island nation of Bahrain. The Pentagon confirmed the approval and the State Department has notified Congress, who held up a similar sale last year over Bahrain’s many, many human rights problems.

The $3.8 billion sale is almost entirely going to Lockheed Martin, who will be providing 19 F-16V fighter jets, along with substantial upgrades to the nation’s existing fleet of F-16s. Raytheon will be selling 221 anti-tank missiles to go with it.

Sales to Bahrain were supposed to be suspended, as Sen. Bob Corker (R – TN) had threatened to hold them all up until they resolved tensions with Qatar. In the end, however, Congress is said to have signed off through normal channels.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having a "double Picard face-palm moment", at velocity, upon reading this.

It's truly ironic: the issue of "human rights", which the US government bandies about as "problems' for countries where it wants regime change, never seems to be an obstacle, when the State Department signs off on huge purchases of US weapons by some of the most revoltingly dictatorial regimes on the planet, such as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, due to what the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America get out of those relationships.

The Al-Khalifa monarchy, and its corrupt, violent crackdown on peaceful, democracy-centric protestors is well documented.

These people are thrown into prison, tortured into confessing to crimes they did not commit, then sentenced by kangaroo courts to huge amounts of prison time in the worst imaginable prisons on this planet.

But hey, because Bahrain is the home to the Navy's 5th Fleet, that makes the torture, and the vile suppression of human rights coupled with assassinations of the Country's Shia majority JUST PEACHY, in the eyes of my government.

So by the US government's obscuring Bahrain's in-your-face human rights crisis, it has now paved the way for huge defense corporations to be able to sell them weapons, isn't that just wonderful!

No, this is not "wonderful"; this transaction is a bloody stain upon the collective moral conscience of this country, if this country still even has something like this left, which I have to question.

US Assault Ship Loaded with Joint Strike Fighters Heads to North Korea

The USS Wasp is sailing from its homeport in Virginia to Sasebo, Japan, to join the US Navy’s 7th Fleet and bring Washington’s most advanced fighter jets to North Korea’s backyard.

The Wasp, an Amphibious Assault Ship and lead ship of her class, doesn’t have quite as much surface area for jets to take off and land as the larger Nimitz-class aircraft carriers, but the ship will still bring a new squadron of carrier-compatible F-35B aircraft to the 7th Fleet’s area of operations.

The F-35 B jets have the AV-8 B Harrier’s capability of taking off vertically, as a helicopter does, while also being able to operate in the air like fighter jets.

Placing the Amphibious Assault Ship in proximity to the Korean Peninsula “ensured that our most technologically-advanced air warfare platforms are forward deployed,” USS Wasp Cmdr. Andrew Smith said in an August 30 release.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This does not auger well for peace on the Korean Peninsula.

China detects rising radiation levels in areas close to North Korean nuclear blast site

Chinese scientists are considering whether a small but gradual increase in environmental radiation picked up by monitoring stations close to the border with North Korea is related to the nuclear test carried out over the weekend.

The changes could be down to environmental factors and unrelated to the nuclear test, but the trend was “worthy of attention”, said a scientist who sits on a panel that advises the Chinese government on emergency responses to radioactive hazards.

The radiation level in Changbai Korean autonomous county – the closest Chinese urban area to the Punggye-ri test facility – climbed gradually from an average of 104.9 nanograys per hour immediately after the test on Sunday to 108.5 on Tuesday, according to figures released by China’s environment ministry.

China Tips its Hand: How it Would Prevent a US Attack on North Korea

The unanswered question of the past several weeks is “What would China do to prevent a US attack on North Korea?” Well, the Chinese began to answer that question with military exercises and deployment of air defense forces designed to expand the roles of anti-missile units in size and scope of territory defended. RT News released an article on September 6 entitled China carries out live-fire exercise fending off ‘surprise’ overseas attack, and here is an excerpt:

Webmaster's Commentary:

The American military is singularly unprepared to fight a war against China over North Korea, because it doesn't have the weaponry; the money; the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a positive result in a war against China.

Haley Debuts Trump’s Case for Ending Iran Nuke Deal

While UN ambassador Nikki Haley certainly didn’t come to the American Enterprise Institute Tuesday to praise the nuclear agreement with Iran, she insisted she wasn’t there to bury it either.

But we think she doth protest too much. Because that is exactly what she set out to do.

“I’m not making the case for decertifying (the agreement),” she told her rapt AEI audience. “I’m just saying if he (president) should decertify, he has the grounds.”

Haley then warned for what would not be the last time that we shouldn’t just assume that the Iranians were “doing the right thing.”

“What if they weren’t doing the right thing?” Haley presupposed, “And when that 10-year (expiration) hits … they start a nuclear war?”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ambassador Haley, a word, please!

Your Wikipedia bio states the following:

"She graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor's degree in accounting."

I notice that in no part of your education, were you ever documented as having taken any courses in physics, nuclear technology, or nuclear weaponry.

Those highly trained and skilled member of the IAEA, who DO have the education and training to make an intelligent judgement in these matters, have certified Iran to be conforming to all aspects of the P5+1 , for the 8th time in a row, since the accord was reached.

And under what grounds can President Trump possibly claim decertification, when the IAEA claims that there are no grounds for his doing so?!?

Also, apparently you didn't get the following memo, or chose not to read it, appearing at sputniknews.com just two days ago:

Iran Condemns Pyongyang's Nuclear Tests

The article goes on to state:

"According to Iranian parliamentarian Morteza Saffari Natanzi, who is a member of the country’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Iran is against nuclear weapons tests by any country and strongly condemns Pyongyang’s latest test of an alleged hydrogen bomb, the Iran Front Page reported.
"Based on a religious decree by Iran's leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei], Tehran is totally against any production of weapons of mass destruction," he said in an interview.

"'Iran has a nuclear program that included a research reactor, uranium mines, uranium processing facilities and uranium enrichment plants. It maintained for decades that its nuclear program was purely peaceful and civil, but was slammed repeatedly with sanctions by the US and the UN, alleging that Iran was secretly trying to develop a nuclear weapons program.

The Iranian lawmaker voiced his concern over the growing number of nuclear weapons in North Korea, saying that North Korea's missile tests are Pyongyang's way of showing the United States that they are indeed powerful, especially since the United States has a history of interfering in world politics."

So, Ambassador Haley, THIS is the country from which the US expects a nuclear war, when they have initiated no wars whatsoever over the last 200 years?!?

Please, the world understands, very clearly, that Israel desperately wants regime change in Iran, but only at the costs of American blood and American money.

Whatever Tel Aviv is paying you to projectile-vomit this codswallop, it cannot possibly be enough!!

ISRAEL LAUNCHES AIR STRIKES ON SYRIA AND ASSAD'S "WAITING GAME"

Immediately after Israel's latest unprovoked strike on Syria we posed the question, did Benjamin Netanyahu just panic? The answer is yes, Israel is now acting from a position of desperation as it has failed in its goal of regime change in Syria. Overnight (Wed. evening/Thursday early morning), Israel attacked a Syrian military base near the town of Masyaf at about 3:00 a.m. which Syria has now confirmed in a statement that warns of "serious repercussions". Syria reported two troop deaths in the attack. It appears to have been a massive strike - grainy photos show a large fireball lighting up the night sky outside of Masyaf.

But this is the reason for Israeli media and defense officials quickly claiming that the strike at Masyaf was on a chemical weapons facility: they know the "humanitarian" angle sells in the West, especially when coupled with allegations of civilians being gassed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As reported in salon.com:

Seymour Hersh Casts Doubt on Reported Syrian Gas Attack

Right now, Netanyahu and his wife have been the targets of corruption probes in Israel. I do not know if these attacks are an attempt at "misdirection" of the national and international press, but the reputations of both of them havebeen irreparably damaged, making Netanyahu, geopolitically, a very wounded animal.

And nothing is more dangerous in this world than a geopolitically wounded animal, because it is impossible to know precisely where they will lash out, or why.

In his diminished emotional and intellectual state, Netanyahu may just haul off and attack Iran directly, expecting that the US will scream "We'll fight with you!" when a war against Iran most probably translates into a war with Russia, which the US military is thoroughly unprepared to successfully undertake.

Netanyahu is scheduled to address the UN on 19 September.

Benjamin Netanyahu to Address the UN the Same Day as does Trump

Look for more intense, mad-dog, foaming at the mouth histrionics, and more bashing of both the Palestinian leadership, and that of Iran.

Neocon Creep” and the Trump Administration

the urge to shape and control US foreign and war policies is strong in neoconservative circles. The critiques from the AEI stable of advisors and op-ed writers alone on a Presidency under constant attack from the domestic left and a generally neoconservative TV, radio and print media, can be very effective. The center and left leaning thinktanks in D.C. all embrace aggressive interventionism abroad, and advocate for it.

US Will Send 3,500 More Troops to Afghanistan

One week after the Pentagon announced an escalation of the Afghan War of an unspecified size, anonymous US officials are saying that the deployment will be about 3,500, bringing the total size of the US forces in the country to 14,500.

The Pentagon would officially neither confirm nor deny the figure, saying that they will not comment in any way on the numbers until there is an official announcement. This figure is roughly in line with expectations of the size of the deployment.

This is, however, expected to only be the first deployment in a much broader open escalation announced by President Trump last month. It’s not clear that subsequent deployments will be announced at all, with or without numbers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that the unholy triumverate of "President Whisperers", consisting of Mc Masters, Mattis, and Kelly, have collectively, solemnly, examined the sacrificial entrails, and then whispered into President Trump's ears "This time, it will be different, honest, we promise, Donald!"

I would like to very politely remind these gentlemen that doing something precisely the same way, over and over, and yet , somehow, miraculously, expecting a different outcome, is a classic definition of insanity.

This fear of being perceived as "failing to win" by the US military, 16 years on, has been the largest stumbling block to any rational, realistic thinking on Afghanistan.

What the government of the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America, and NATO, should be doing is evacuating their troops as quickly as is safely possible, then negotiating with whatever government is left standing in Kabul for the pipeline and mineral rights.

Of course, that...would be logical.

9 THINGS THE MSM DOESN’T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THE WAR IN YEMEN

About two and a half years ago, Saudi Arabia started bombing Yemen and began an occupation to prop-up the puppet government of Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi. The Saudi’s air strikes deliberately target homes. Tens of thousands have died. Millions are at risk of famine. The siege has triggered a globally-unprecedented cholera epidemic. And people can’t even flee the country because the airport is closed at the behest of Saudi Arabia.

Corporate media barely covers Yemen at all. Not only do they leave many key pieces of information out, they blatantly lie to reinforce their imperialist narrative. Here, Geopolitics Alert will attempt to debunk many of the most common myths and explain the truth.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The other things that MSM doesn't want you to know are as follows; and warning: the images used are highly graphic, but I have deliberately chosen them to bear Christian witness to what is happening here.

1. The US enables the Saudi genocide in Yemen by selling them the weapons, and providing "guidance" to their airstrikes. They strike homes, markets, hospitals, with absolute impunity. And here is the devastation those airstrikes create:

Images: Yemeni children murdered and maimed for life, courtesy of Saudi Airstrikes

Please remember; this genocide is created, in part, through your tax dollars and in your name.

2. Because Yemeni ports are being blockaded, through US/Saudi troops, no food can get in, so children are not dying from complications of malnutrition.

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition

And of course, with malnutrition comes disease: Yemen is now facing one of the most severe epidemics of cholera (and perhaps, a weaponised strain) with grownups and children dying in staggering numbers every day:

Images: Yemeni adults and children, stricken with cholera

And not content with that, the Saudi military has used depleted uranium weapons in Yemen. This poisons babies in the womb, and leads to massive birth defects; stillbirths; and massive cancers.

Images: Yemeni infants deformed through exposure to depleted uranium in the womb

And not content with THAT, Saudi soldiers have been using white phosphorous weapons in Yemen. These weapons burn flesh right though to the bone:

Images: Saudi soldiers using white phosphorous weapons in Yemen

The stark, hard reality here, is that the government of the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America have been colluding with the Saudis by partnering in war crimes with them; there is just no other way to say this, than to blurt it out.

I am profoundly, morally uncomfortable being a citizen of a country, and government, which indulges in war crimes, as though it is "no big deal"; unfortunately, Mike and I are too old, and too broke, to be able to immigrate to a civilised country which does not engage in war crimes.

But having colluded in the creation of war crimes in Yemen, both President Trump and Saudia Arabia's Prince Salman, the principal architect of these atrocities, now deserve new titles; for President Trump, it is Merchant-of- Death-in-Chief, and for Prince Salman, the principal architect of these atrocities, it is the Butcher of Yemen.

Putin Rejects More Korea Sactions, Warns US Risks “Global Catastrophe, Huge Loss Of Human Life”

After UN Ambassador Nikki Haley asked the security council to pass the “strongest possible” sanctions against North Korea which was “begging for war” following the isolated nation’s sixth nuclear test which took place over the weekend, Russia President Vladimir Putin has hinted that Russia may – and most likely will – use its Security Council veto power to stop any further sanctions from being implemented.

RUSSIAN MILITARY ADMITS SYRIA IS A TESTING GROUND FOR RUSSIAN WEAPONS

Confirming what many corporate media outlets have been saying for years, the Russian military recently admitted that Syria is a testing ground for Russia’s military capabilities, Russian-owned outlet TASS reports.

“More than 200 weapons have been tested during the special operation [in Syria], which demonstrated high combat effectiveness and proved to be mission-capable,” Chairman of the Military Science Committee of the Russian Armed Forces and Deputy Head of the General Staff Lieutenant General, Igor Makushev, said at the Army-2017 international military technical forum during a round table discussion on the Syrian experience last Friday.

“Special attention is paid to new arms models, including those that are undergoing state tests, in order to timely detect and quickly remove possible manufacturing and design defects,” Makushev also added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Do I happen to detect just a tiny soupcon of Russia-bashing here?!?

The Russians have tested their weapons in real-time environments, and found them working, and well. And look at the statement by General Staff Lieutenant General, Igor Makushev: “Special attention is paid to new arms models, including those that are undergoing state tests, in order to timely detect and quickly remove possible manufacturing and design defects,” Makushev also added.

Do US weapons get this kind of going over when they are field-tested, in real combat environments?!?

IF, in fact, that is true, why is the F-35 still such an horrific epic fail?!?

And I would like to politely point out the following: Russia has not been alone in selling weapons to dictatorships:

Rex Tillerson lifts human rights conditions on the sales of arms to Bahrain

Trump ready to approve weapons packages to Saudi Arabia

The human rights records of the above-mentioned countries almost makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate in comparison!!

Neocons Are About to Run Amok

#ISpeakforButhaina: Picture of girl in Yemen goes viral

Buthaina Mansour was the sole survivor of a bombing in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, that killed her entire family. An image of her trying to open her eyes despite her injuries has gone viral on social media as a symbol of solidarity with the people in the war-torn country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Congratulations to his Royal Highness, Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for whom the world can now add yet another honorific to his name: that of the Butcher of Yemen.

An image of one more innocent toddler, maimed for life, and bereft of any family whatsoever; one has to wonder as to the horrific extent of this man's bloodlust, in light of the fact that his Saudi military are killing innocent babies and toddlers; women; and the medically fragile elderly in Yemen, in addition to the Houthi Rebels.

Because the Yemeni ports are closed, so no food can get it, Yemeni children are starving, and dying from complications of malnutrition; and now, is experiencing one of the worst epidemics of cholera the world has seen.

You have allowed your troops in Yemen to use both depleted uranium weapons, causing massive spikes in birth defects, stillbirths, and cancers here, as well as white phosphorous, which burns to the bone, and for which there is utterly no remedy.

And President Trump, you, sir, have enabled this genocide as the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America has authorized billions of dollars in arms sales to this country;

US approves a $1.4 billion sales of weapons to Saudi Arabia

And by doing so, you have distinguished yourself as the Merchant-of-Death-In-Chief of your country: congratulations to you also, Mr. President!!

What we have in Yemen, with US government enabling, is the massive, full-blown, in-your-face commission of Saudi war crimes, with utter impunity, and zero morality, Mr. President: there is no other way to say this.

And every single respected expert on the Middle East consistently say that the resolution of the hostilities in Yemen must, ultimately, political, rather than military.

History will not judge either of you you kindly on this, Prince Salmon, and President Trump.

Prince Salman, you will be remembered as Saudi Arabia's War Crimes Prince"

And President Trump, you will not be remembered as a "War President", but as a "War Crimes President" for these atrocities, visited upon the people of Yemen.

Please understand: I am a Christian pacifist activist, who constantly exhorts her government to resolve its geopolitical differences through hard-won, moral negotiations rather than through war, and cannot, ethically, ever endorse violence.

But when my government refuses to listen to logic, I have a responsibility to witness, peacefully, to the horrors it is inflicting around the world, and shall do so until I draw my last breath.

Trump Quietly Promises Billions in New Nuke Contracts

The Trump administration has just announced that it is moving ahead with an Obama-era plan to modernize America’s nuclear arsenal, sprucing up the nuclear Triad with a new fleet of land-based missiles, missile-carrying submarines, and air-delivered nuclear weapons that will cost the American taxpayer well over $1 trillion in the coming years. The ostensible purpose behind this modernization effort is to maintain America’s nuclear deterrence capability for decades to come. The harsh reality, however, is that through this nuclear upgrade, America is simply repeating the mistakes of the past, building weapons whose precision and speed will trigger a new arms race with Russia and China as they seek to match this new American capability with weapons designed to sustain their version of nuclear deterrence.

China Is Main Target of ‘Pressure’ Against North Korea

As tensions with North Korea have risen, the US has been eager to impose new sanctions on them. Since the US doesn’t trade with North Korea in the first place, that has mostly boiled down to sanctions against Chinese companies that do.

The ease with which the Trump Administration has made sanctioning North Korea mean sanctioning China is coupled with a lot of angry blaming of China from US officials, who still expect them to solve North Korea unilaterally. China is unsurprisingly viewing itself as a target.

President Trump campaigned on trade with China being unfair, and many see that driving their actions against China as part of North Korea policy. Trump has presented North Korea’s continued tests as an “embarrassment” to China, and suggests the US could cut all trade with every nation that trades with North Korea, which covers a lot of nations, but especially China.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Such an act would be largely symbolic, as the only practical deterrent would be for President Trump to order the US Navy to board and physically inspect any and all cargo bound for North Korea; and this would be a logistical nightmare, not to mention the possibility of getting into a shooting war with either China or any other nation with the capabilities of defending itself with sophisticated weaponry.

South Korea’s defense minister suggests bringing back tactical U.S. nuclear weapons

South Korea’s defense minister on Monday said it was worth reviewing the redeployment of American tactical nuclear weapons to the Korean Peninsula to guard against the North, a step that analysts warn would sharply increase the risk of an accidental conflict.

As concern over Korea deepened following North Korea’s huge nuclear test Sunday, Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said the regime of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was “begging for war.”

Here in Seoul, the Defense Ministry warned that Pyongyang might be preparing to launch another missile into the Pacific Ocean, perhaps an intercontinental ballistic missile theoretically capable of reaching the mainland United States.

President Trump and his South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-in, spoke on the phone for 40 minutes Monday night, Korean time — some 34 hours after the nuclear test and more than 24 hours after Trump took to Twitter to criticize Moon’s “talk of appeasement.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Such a move will only escalate tensions in the region, and make it more possible that one stupid mistake, or one mis-communication, could set off the second Korean war.

And President Trump, a word, please: you do NOT criticise the behaviour of a foreign head of state in public, then naively, and stupidly, believe that they will conduct their country's foreign policy according to your dictates, sir.

If you have something negative to say about the policy of foreign leaders, please have the horse-sense to say it privately.

But your very public excoriation of President Moon on Twitter, is absolutely NOT "The Art of the Deal" behaviour; it is the behaviour one might logically ascribe to a megalomaniac, publicly yelling at a head of state, because he has not gotten his way.

China lodges representations to DPRK embassy over nuclear test

China confirmed on Monday its Foreign Ministry has lodged solemn representations to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) embassy in Beijing over its sixth nuclear test.

"The representations were lodged to the person in charge of the embassy," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said at a regular news briefing.
The DPRK Sunday detonated a hydrogen bomb that can be carried by an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), DPRK's Central Television announced. This was the sixth nuclear test the DPRK has undertaken.

"China's adherence to denuclearizing the Korean Peninsula and opposition to nuclear tests and missile development by the DPRK is well-known," Geng said.
China has proposed realizing denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula while establishing a peace mechanism. China has also expected the DPRK to suspend its nuclear and missile activities in exchange for the suspension of large-scale U.S.-ROK military exercises.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What China is proposing is an absolutely, completely reasonable mechanism for ratcheting down the tensions here.

Unfortunately, neither those in the bowels of power in DC, or Kim Jung Un appear to be listening; and this is leading the region to the very cusp of a regional war, which may result in a world war.

Trump agrees to lift limits on South Korean missile payloads

The U.S. and South Korea have agreed to lift limits on South Korea's missile payload capabilities following North Korea's hydrogen bomb test over the weekend, the White House announced Monday.

During a call between President Trump and South Korean President Moon Jae-In, Trump "gave his in-principle approval to South Korea’s initiative to lift restrictions on their missile payload capabilities,” the White House said in a readout of the call.

“President Trump also provided his conceptual approval for the purchase of many billions of dollars’ worth of military weapons and equipment from the United States by South Korea," the statement added.

A spokesman for South Korea’s presidential office confirmed the call Monday, describing the move to lift the limit on the payload of South Korean missiles under U.S.-South Korean guidelines as an "effective" countermeasure, the Yonhap News Agency reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Another move, demonstrating just how close the Unhinged, Surveilled, States of Amerika is moving toward war on the Korean Peninsula.

NORTH KOREA’S NUCLEAR TEST SITE AT RISK OF IMPLODING, CHINESE SCIENTIST SAYS

The single mountain under which North Korea most likely conducted its five most recent nuclear bomb tests, including the latest and most powerful on Sunday, could be at risk of collapsing, a Chinese scientist said.

By measuring and analysing the shock waves caused by the blasts, and picked up by quake stations in China and neighbouring countries, researchers at the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei, Anhui province, said they were confident that they were all carried out from under the same mountain at the Punggye-ri test site.

Webmaster's Commentary:

8 minutes after the shock wave from the H-bomb test there was a secondary event which has still not been explained.

SHOCK VIDEO: THE GOVERNMENT LOCKED THESE KIDS IN A GAS CHAMBER AND FILLED IT WITH DEADLY ORGANISMS TO TEST GAS MASK EFFECTIVENESS

A chilling video showing gas masks being tested on schoolchildren by government scientists using deadly organisms paints a disturbing picture of life in the Cold War.

The unsettling footage, which was taken in 1960, shows a classroom full of children no older than 10 being given a lecture about the biohazard safety devices by a visitor.

The youngsters, who are the children of soldiers, are then led into a chamber where the mask’s effectiveness is tested using a potentially deadly mix of microbial organisms.

The children stay in the chamber for 10 minutes before being removed, with the narrator noting that ‘a concentration much greater than could be reasonably expected during any biological attack’ is being tested on them.

World War 3? The United States And North Korea Stand On The Brink Of A Nuclear War

After North Korea successfully tested a hydrogen bomb on Sunday, U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis warned that the United States is more than capable of “the total annihilation of a country”. Unfortunately, the North Koreans may have already gotten to the point where they are capable of the same thing. Just a handful of North Korean nukes could kill millions of people and render the largest cities in South Korea or Japan completely uninhabitable, and so a nuclear war with the North Koreans should be avoided at all costs. Sadly, global events seem to be relentlessly pulling us in that direction.

Frankfurt starts defusing massive WWII bomb after evacuating 60,000

German explosives experts started to defuse a massive World War Two bomb in Frankfurt on Sunday after tens of thousands of people evacuated their homes. The bomb was discovered on a building site last week and around 60,000 people were ordered to leave their residences in what was Germany’s biggest evacuation since the war.

Why North Korea's Latest Missile Test Was Humiliating Blow to US Missile Defense

Commenting on the missile test, and Japan's response, RIA Novosti military observer Alexander Khrolenko wrote that Pyongyang's latest test has demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that all the sophisticated US missile defense systems in and around the Asian country are next to useless.

THE LATEST: NKOREA'S NEIGHBORS CHECKING RADIATION LEVELS

The North said the underground test site where it detonated what it described as a hydrogen bomb did not leak radioactive materials. If that's true, it will be difficult for outsiders to determine whether the device was indeed a thermonuclear weapon or a simpler nuclear bomb.

N Korea's 6th Nuke Test 'Much Larger Event Than the One From 2016 and Before'

Earlier in the day, Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera said that a nuclear weapon that was tested by North Korea on Sunday is preliminarily estimated to have a yield of up to 70 kilotonnes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More indications that the "expert" claim of a 6 kiloton yield was "in error."

Putin & Xi agree to ‘appropriately deal’ with N. Korea nuclear test – Xinhua

Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have agreed to “appropriately deal” with the recent nuclear test conducted by North Korea, Chinese Xinhua news reports.

"The two leaders agreed to stick to the goal of denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula and keep close communication and coordination to deal with the new situation," the report says.

The presidents met in the southeastern Chinese city of Xiamen for the ninth BRICS summit, which is scheduled for September 3-5.

Korea tested hydrogen bomb that can be mounted on ICBM – state TV
Earlier in the day, the Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the North Korean test, adding that in a situation like this, it is essential “to keep composure and to restrain from any acts, which may lead to further escalation of tensions.”

The test is “another example of Pyongyang’s outright disregard” of UN Security Council resolutions and international law, the ministry said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sounds great, Presidents Putin and Jinping, but, please, what are the concrete steps you are hoping to take to achieve your goal here?!?

A little more elaboration would have been...helpful. But perhaps, they believe they are getting closer to this goal of denukelearising the Koran Peninsula through closed door, private negotiations, which I certainly hope and pray are ongoing.

#NorthKorea ~~ ‘WASTE DEEP IN THE BIG MUDDY’

Pyongyang confirms its sixth nuclear test, after 6.3-magnitude tremor was recorded near nuclear test site.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Something does not add up here. We are being told that "experts" are saying North Korea's Hydrogen bomb yield was only 6 kilotons, yet here it is reported that the test produced a 6.3 quake. Going from the Kelly Kiloton Index, a Richter 6 quake indicates a yield closer to a megaton!

North Korea could 'basically vapourise' large parts of the South's population if Western allies attack warns Boris Johnson

North Korea could "basically vapourise" millions of South Koreans if the West attacks, even without nuclear weapons, Boris Johnson has warned.

Britain's Foreign Secretary sounded the stark alert to explain why he backs diplomacy, not military action, despite the rogue state's latest nuclear test.

State TV today claimed a hydrogen bomb ordered by leader Kim Jong-un was a “perfect success” and was a “meaningful” step in completing the country’s nuclear weapons programme.

US Treasury Department to Present to Trump New Sanctions Against North Korea

The US Treasury Department will submit to President Donald Trump a new package of sanctions against North Korea after the latest nuclear test by Pyongyang, the authority's secretary, Steven Mnuchin, said Sunday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The news about sanctions emerges after US President Donald Trump commented on the reports about the nuclear test, saying Pyongyang's "words and actions continue to be very hostile and dangerous to the United States."

"We have already started with sanctions against North Korea but I am going to draft a sanctions package to send to the president for his strong consideration," Mnuchin told the US Fox News broadcaster.

Mnuchin added that if other countries wanted to do business with North Korea, the United States would not engage in cooperation with them.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sanctions are most generally preludes to war.

It is very important to notice other countries beside North Korea against which the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America has placed sanctions; these countries include Russia; China; and Iran.

I cannot tell you precisely when, but something wicked this way comes, in terms of a very aggressive USSA war trajectory against so many countries, and all at the same time.

Please, as I have said so many times on this blog that I sound like a chipped CD; prepare; plan; and practice what will be necessary to do in the event of a national emergency. Have potable food; water; and extra medications on hand. Only have as much money as you need in the bank to pay your bills. Get your bugout kit ready, and have a plan to connect with your loved ones, should you be apart.

Right now, I counsel patience, preparedness, and taking care of yourself and those you care about with as much ease as is humanly possible, under such conditions.

North Korea claims its 'hydrogen bomb' can 'wipe out the whole US territory'

Experts are still gathering data and air samples that will permit them to determine precisely what happened at the Punggye-ri proving grounds on Jan. 6, but seismic evidence indicates the device had a yield of around 6 kilotons.

That would mean it fell well short of a thermonuclear device - which could be expected to have a yield around 100 times more powerful. The assumption among analysts is that it was a conventional nuclear bomb that was enhanced with fusion fuels, such as deuterium or lithium.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If the "experts" are not lying to us and the yield was only 6 kilotons, then it was a "fizzle."

However it is reported that the test produced a 6.3 quake. Going from the Kelly Kiloton Index, a Richter 6 quake indicates a yield closer to a megaton!

US, South Korea Consider ‘Effective Military Reponses’ to DPRK’s Nuclear Test

The top military officers of the United States and South Korea have discussed “effective military responses” that could show the military might of the allies in the wake of North Korea’s latest nuclear test on Sunday.

Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and South Korea’s Gen. Jeong Kyeong-doo discussed on phone the enhancemnet of military cooperation between Seoul and Washington and joint response to North Korea, the Yonhap news agency reported.

The news came after Pyongyang announced it had conducted a test of a hydrogen bomb, which was successful, as no radiation leakage took place in the process. The Japanese NHK broadcaster confirmed the test was successful, adding that no breaches of nuclear materials to the outside occurred.

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the top military officers of the United States and South Korea; how, please are you going to insure these 'effective military responses that could show the military might of the allies' are not perceived as a prelude to war against North Korea?!?

The short answer, gentlemen, is... you cannot.
