U.S. says China realizes limited time to negotiate with North Korea

China has realized it has limited time to rein in North Korea's nuclear program through negotiations and is open to further sanctions against Pyongyang, a senior U.S. State Department official said on Friday.

Susan Thornton, the acting assistant secretary for east Asian and Pacific affairs told a news briefing in Beijing that China understood that the U.S. viewed the North Korea situation as an urgent "time-limited problem set".

"So they know now that they don't have, I think, as much time to try to bring the North Koreans to the table to get their calculus changed and get them to the negotiating table," she said. "And I think that has lent some urgency to their measures."

Pyongyang has conducted dozens of missile tests, the most recent last Sunday, and tested two nuclear bombs since the start of 2016, in defiance of U.N. Security Council resolutions. It says the program is necessary to counter U.S. aggression.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation; China, and the world, are being groomed by the US government for a US pre-emptive strike against North Korea.

There have been credible sources indicating that Chinese President Zi Jinping, upon visiting Mar-A-Largo in April, asked President Trump for 100 days to get the problem sorted with North Korea.

Report: Xi Jinping asked for '100-day grace period' on North Korea

The end of that 100 days comes roughly at the end of next month; and June starts this coming Thursday.

The question of whether President Xi will get his 100 days rests very squarely on the degree to which he can persuade Kim Jung Un not to continue his missile and nuclear tests before that time has ended.

And yesterday, the US military has just sent a 3rd carrier group to the Korean Peninsula:

US military sending a 3rd carrier group to the North Korean peninsula

It looks like the excrement is about to hit the ventilation system on the North Korean peninsula; I hope to heck I am wrong on this, but the continued movement of personnel and materials into this region bode ill for any substantive peace talks getting held in order to ratchet down tensions here.

US PLANS FIRST TEST OF ICBM INTERCEPT, WITH NKOREA ON MIND

Preparing for North Korea's growing threat, the Pentagon will try to shoot down an intercontinental-range missile for the first time in a test next week. The goal is to more closely simulate a North Korean ICBM aimed at the U.S. homeland, officials said Friday

The American interceptor has a spotty track record, succeeding in nine of 17 attempts since 1999. The most recent test, in June 2014, was a success, but that followed three straight failures. The system has evolved from the multibillion-dollar effort triggered by President Ronald Reagan's 1983 push for a "Star Wars" solution to ballistic missile threats during the Cold War - when the Soviet Union was the only major worry.

North Korea is now the focus of U.S. efforts because its leader, Kim Jong Un, has vowed to field a nuclear-armed missile capable of reaching American territory. He has yet to test an intercontinental ballistic missile, or ICBM, but Pentagon officials believe he is speeding in that direction.

Webmaster's Commentary:

But what is the US military actually able to do about the interceptor's miserable failure rate?!?

This will do absolutely nothing unless it is completely accurate in its interception process, and it looks to me as though it is going to need far more intense engineering, and time, to get these units fully operational.

SYRIA - TRUTH SLIPS THROUGH IN THE NEW YORK TIMES - NATO PREPS TO FIGHT IRAN AND RUSSIA

The Islamic proxy forces of the "west", al-Qaeda under its various disguises, Ahar al-Sham and even ISIS are mostly done. The latest especially is no longer a capable military force but is reverting to guerilla levels of operation. Its final defeat will take a long time but it must and will be achieved by local forces.

Despite that the U.S. pressed on NATO members to let the NATO organization join its "fight against ISIS". The single NATO members were already part of the U.S. coalition. But NATO as an organization brings large scale command and control capabilities as well as additional resources. (All under U.S. control.)

Webmaster's Commentary:

A larger, regional, if not world war, is coming; we have been in the opening phases of that war for some time now, even though few will acknowledge it.

I am reminded of the second Sherlock Holmes movie, "A Game of Shadows", where the evil Moriarty makes the observation that war is coming, and he has the "lock" on both the bullets and the bandages: so it is with the West's military/industrial complex, which has metaphorically punctured President Trump's throat; swallowed whatever morality President Donald Trump ever had before he took his Oath of Office, and replaced it with the pure, immoral venom of war.

That President Trump has thrown America's lot in with Saudi Arabia, coupled with the huge arms deal he just signed off on, is appalling to me, on every possible level.

This, for a country where its human rights record makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate in comparison?!?

There is utterly no doubt in my mind that some of those arms will be used to finish the Saudi's on-going genocide in Yemen, then be used against Iran, which is both Saudi Arabia's and Israel's "alleged existential threat" in the region.

And why?!? Because, since the revolution in 79, it has become a moderate, flourishing constitutional Islamic republic, where the rights of religious minorities are protected, and its people are succeeding.

Oh, and don't forget; Israel's government got a little "antsy" over the Saudi deal, so President Trump has just OK'd another $75 million dollars more for "Israeli defense", over and above the $38 billion dollar, 10 year deal deal, signed in December of last year.

PM says US agreed to boost Israel military aid amid concern over Saudi deal

So I give you President Donald "Moriarty" Trump, who firmly believes war is good for business, because our weapons are the only things people from other countries want to buy; and so, war is what he shall have.

Never mind that the US and its allies may well not win this war, particularly against Russia, because this country doesn't have the weaponry; the money, the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a victory in a conventional war against Russia.

Secretary of Defense James Mattis’s Iraq “War Crimes”

March 1, 2017

Retired Marine General James Mattis, a man who has served over forty years in the Marine Corps, was sworn in as the US Secretary of Defense in January 2017. Before his confirmation, he was under public scrutiny—for instance, for his controversial comments on “political Islam” at the Heritage Foundation in 2015—but, Dahr Jamail reports, the bigger concern is that Mattis “is clearly responsible for carrying out and/or aiding and abetting in several war crimes.”

The November 2005 Haditha massacre was well documented and received international attention, even if Mattis’s role in it has been largely forgotten. After a roadside bomb attack on a Marine convoy, a group of American soldiers rounded up 24 unarmed Iraqi civilians—including women, children, and elderly people—and shot them numerous times at close range. When the Marines were brought to trial, Mattis was the authority that dismissed the charges against them.

‘TRUCKLOADS’ OF US ARMS AND AMMO REACH KURDISH MILITIA IN SYRIA – REPORTS

Over 100 trucks loaded with US armaments and ammunition, including heavy mortars and anti-tank missiles, have reached the Kurdish controlled northern Syrian city of Hasakah over the past weeks, Turkish and Kurdish media report.
The US arms shipment was reserved for the multi-ethnic Syrian militia known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) dominated by Kurdish YPG units, according to the media reports.

The SDF is fighting Islamic State (IS, former ISIS/ISIL) and is preparing to launch an offensive on the city of Raqqa, considered to be the self-proclaimed capital of IS in Syria.

The trucks carrying the arsenal crossed into Syria from northern Iraq through the Simelka border crossing on two separate occasions on May 15 and May 20, Turkey's Daily Sabah reports.

The convoys reportedly moved to Hasakah and later headed to the Raqqa region where the SDF are currently battling Islamic State militants.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question I would have to ask right now is, how long will Syria, Russia and Turkey allow this destabilisation to move forward in Syria?!?

Because the establishment of an independent Kurdistan will be seen as an existential threat by Turkey, who consider the Kurds an existential threat, and the Syrians and Russians, who don't dont want Syria having to yield one inch of its sovereign territory?!?

I don't know what the Vegas odds are on this, but I have to wonder; just when will American troops, fighting with the Kurds, be meeting up with Russian ground troops here?!?

Because my concern is, this is only a matter of when, not if, this happens, at this point.

US Killed Record Number of Civilians in Past Month of ISIS Strikes: At Least 225 Civilians in the Past Month

The US is eager to brag about their record number of airstrikes in the ISIS war, with the rate of growth in the number of strikes launched limited only by their ability to get enough weapons to drop on people. Officially, the death toll has remained trivial, albeit increasingly non-credible.

NGOs keeping track of the number of civilians the US is killing show a different story, however, with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights putting the death toll at 225 over the last month, which by their reckoning is the most civilians the US has killed in any one month span of the ISIS war.

That’s a conservative estimate too, even though it’s likely more than 10 times what the Pentagon will admit to. Indeed, Air Wars themselves counted 230 civilians killed in a single US strike in Mosul, and they too recognize that the civilian toll is continuing to rise precipitously

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the Pentagon and the money junkies, the civilian death toll in these countries is absolutely meaningless; it's just "collateral damage" in the process of regime changing Damascus, and insuring that Iraq's oil is only sold to parties the US wants it sold to, and is sold for US dollars.

The Republic Has Fallen: The Deep State’s Plot to Take Over America Has Succeeded

No doubt about it.The coup d’etat has been successful.
The Deep State—a.k.a. the police state a.k.a. the military industrial complex—has taken over.
The American system of representative government has been overthrown by a profit-driven, militaristic corporate state bent on total control and global domination through the imposition of martial law here at home and by fomenting wars abroad.

When in doubt, follow the money trail.

Enter Donald Trump, the candidate who swore to drain the swamp in Washington DC.

Instead of putting an end to the corruption, however, Trump has paved the way for lobbyists, corporations, the military industrial complex, and the Deep State to feast on the carcass of the dying American republic.

Xi asked Trump for ‘100 days’ to deal with North Korea problem

Chinese President Xi Jinping asked U.S. President Donald Trump for a 100-day grace period to deal with North Korea’s military provocations during their meeting in early April, according to several U.S. and Japanese sources.

At their talks in Florida, Trump asked Xi to strengthen economic sanctions against Pyongyang over its repeated ballistic missile and nuclear tests. China accounts for about 90 percent of North Korea’s foreign trade.

The U.S. president said that if Beijing did not cooperate, Washington was prepared to implement new sanctions against Chinese companies that have business dealings with North Korea, including several financial institutions, according to the sources.

Xi may have asked for the grace period to prevent such U.S. sanctions from making it difficult for the targeted Chinese companies to continue their business transactions with U.S. financial institutions and companies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this story is true, (and please note that this is not sourced), President Xi basically has until the end of June to turn Kim Jung Un's thinking around, when it comes to its nuclear weapons program.

The successful launching of a medium range missile last weekend does not seem to indicate that China has had an effect yet on moderating North Korea's missile program to date.

IF, in fact, these reports are true, I am hoping and praying that Chinese President Xi will "up his game" before the end of next month; otherwise, all hell could potentially break loose here, particularly if Kim Jung Un decides the "timing is right" to test a nuclear weapon

THE PRICE OF HELLFIRE MISSILES: EVERYTHING AMERICANS COULD BUY AT THE COST OF A DRONE STRIKE

As Donald Trump’s plan to Make America Great Again unfolds, there is at least one thing he will not need to worry about because the United States is already greatest at it — spending the most money to kill people. With US defense spending being more than the next 7 countries combined, none of our competitors will be catching up to us anytime soon. In this case, the greatness of the US is beyond question and it comes at a cost — but that is the price we pay for our freedom. And no one can put a price on freedom. But have any of you wondered — if you could put a price on freedom — what its cost would be? Or, in other words — how great exactly is the price of things like Hellfire missiles?

THE COSTS OF FREEDOM:
WHAT ELSE CAN WE BUY AT THE PRICE OF A HELLFIRE MISSILE?

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is amazing to me that Americans vote, and continue to vote, but absolutely nothing changes; the American Deep State's war agenda continues apace, with more military interventions through which foreign resources are expropriated, to which this country and its corporate minions have utterly no moral right; regimes are toppled and changed to insure that they are Western-centric (at least, nominally); those resources are only sold in US dollars; and countries get balkanized, and left in chaos and ruins, in order to insure that they will never again be an "existential threat" to the United States, militarily or economically.

If you want want an example of this, writ large, just please remember what happened to Libya's Qaddafi, when he was about to announce that his country's oil was going to be sold in a national Libyan currency, the gold dinar, rather than US dollars; his country got invaded, and he got assassinated.

No one wants to talk about this, but at this point in this country's history, it appears that citizens of this country are absolutely not in any degree of control over it, whatsoever.

Yes, we have these elaborate, Kabuki-drama style national, and state, elections; but at the end of the day, it is the corporations which buy candidates to craft legislation to their liking, and the Deep American State, which are in control.

The country I thought I knew, no longer exists, outside of a complete fantasy construct; and I feel like an alien in my own land.

My eyes wide open to the brutal reality I see, where the most fragile in our society are simply abandoned, and am anticipating a very terrifying, martial future in the days and years to come.

North Korea's Latest Missile Test Brings Us One Step Closer To WWIII (Here's How We Got Here)

As time goes on, North Korea’s nuclear program is making war with the United States more and more likely. As SHTFplan.com's Daniel Lang details, we’re on a terrible path that no one knows how to escape from.

On the one hand, North Korea is clearly led by an unhinged and tyrannical government that can’t be trusted with nuclear weapons. So you can understand why the US is so determined to stop their progress with these weapons. But at the same time, those nuclear weapons could one day guarantee that the leaders of North Korea will remain in power for a long time. Those weapons would make any potential aggressor think twice about trying to invade the bellicose nation, so there’s no way that North Korea is going to abandon its nuclear program.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This possibility is making residents of Oahu, military, or non-military, more than a little nervous.

KIM Jong-un has vowed to increase North Korea's military might following the successful deployment of a new-intermediate range ballistic missile on Sunday.

KIM Jong-un has vowed to increase North Korea's military might following the successful deployment of a new-intermediate range ballistic missile on Sunday.

After watching the launch of the new Pukguksong-2 missile, the North Korean dictator was reportedly satisfied with its accuracy and branded it a “successful strategic weapon”, according to state-run media outlet KCNA.

After the second missile launch in less than a week, KCNA reported: "Saying with pride that the missile's rate of hits is very accurate and Pukguksong-2 is a successful strategic weapon, [Kim Jong-un] approved the deployment of this weapon system for action.

Webmaster's Commentary:

to President Donald Trump; China's President Xi Jinping; Japan's Prime Minister Abe; gentlemen, a word please.

As much a pain as North Korea's Kim Jung Un may be to deal with, the only resolution of the issue of North Korean missiles is through negotiation, and right the heck now, thank you very much!!

What should be happening is the establishment of a peace accord for North Korea, with iron-clad promises of free trade, and lack of any restrictions against its economy, with the quid pro quo of North Korea stopping its nuclear weapons program when this takes effect.

And a short memo to Secretary of State Tillerson, who has reiterated that only when North Korea ends its nuclear weapons program, will the US be ready to negotiate; Mr. Tillerson, Kim Jung Un understands that his only possible ploy for preventing an invasion of his country is the development of a nuclear weapon as a deterrent.

He has seen what has happened to countries which do not have this, and is trying to insure that North Korea doesn't become yet another victim of "regime change."

The time for serious negotiations is now: the potential for horrific damage from an attack against North Korea would be horrific for the region as a whole.

BAE TO SETTLE BRIBERY CASES FOR MORE THAN $400 MILLION

Britain’s BAE Systems PLC reached settlements totaling almost $500 million with the U.S. Justice Department and the U.K. Serious Fraud Office to resolve longstanding corruption allegations that have dogged one of the world’s biggest defense contractors.

Under the agreements, London-based BAE will plead guilty to charges in both countries, relating to transactions that took place before 2002. The investigations examined whether BAE had made illegal payments to officials in various countries to secure lucrative contracts. The accusations have cast a shadow over BAE’s business, even as it has expanded world-wide.

“It allows us to draw a very heavy line under the legacy of very historical issues,” said BAE Chairman Dick Olver. “We’re pleased to see the uncertainty removed.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

And yet, demonstrating that the US has an absolutely two-tiered legal system, no one who actually did the bribing goes to prison.

The Uber-rich, particularly if they are weapons-manufacturing-centric, simply get off with a financial slap on the wrist; the company's annual income is roughly around one billion (or more).

SPECIAL: Jared Kushner Working for Israel to Enable Saudi Arabian Nuclear Attack Against Iran UPDATE 2: Gulf NATO to Wage War on Iran & Syria

ROBERT STEELE: I have learned from a person I trust that Jared Kushner is being used by Israel to rapidly enable Saudi Arabian nuclear attack capability against Iran. In his recent call to the Lockheed CEO asking for a 12% discount (it should have been 50%) on Lockheed’s missile defense system, Kushner was overheard discussing the arming of the Saudis with nuclear missiles with what sounded like an Israeli intelligence officer. See the Updates. Donald Trump is becoming impeachable by We the People.

My source tells me that the Israeli’s believe they can incite a limited nuclear war between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and that the nuclearization of Saudi Arabia will discourage Russia from deepening its support of Syria while also serving as a threat against Iran.

In Afghanistan, Civilian Casualties Happen by Design, Not by Accident

Even the waves of so-called “terrorists attacks” in Germany, Holland and France last year underscores that these are the conspiracy theories aimed at continuous war in Syria and elsewhere. Many Europeans would still keep faith with the war-mongers’ cooked-up stories and back the US and NATO’s intervention in Syria. The sole purpose of all these planned attacks was and is to demonize the Islamic State or Al-Qaeda and draw a whole support to wage a filthy war against “the nations” where these terrorists operate.

Unrest in Afghanistan is a recipe for more US weapons’ sales to war-exposed countries, viable drug trafficking that generates a profit far beyond measure, unearthing of underground resources worth of several trillion dollars, restraining of the regional military and economic rival powers and so others.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The sickening rhythm of "invade; regime change; occupy; expropriate resources; and insure those resources are only sold in US dollars" continues, unabated.

And in his weekend trip to Saudi Arabia, with that ginormous US arms deal he greenlit, it appears that President Trump is setting up that country for a proxy war against Iran, to regime change that country as well.

But there is one minor problem; in both Syria, and Iran, Russia's leadership has pledged both countries to resist any attempt at regime change; and the Russian military is very formidable, at this point in its history.

War with Russia over Syria and Iran?!?

That's precisely where the US government and military are headed right now, and unless there are some American leaders willing to bring some semblance of sanity back to DC, it is not a question of if, but when, such wars will happen.

North Korea fires medium-range missile in latest test

North Korea on Sunday fired a medium-range missile, U.S. and South Korean officials said, in the latest ballistics test for a country speeding up its development of nuclear weapons and missiles.

The rocket was fired from an area near the North Korean county of Pukchang, in South Phyongan Province, and flew eastward about 310 miles, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said. It did not immediately provide more details.

White House officials traveling in Saudi Arabia with President Donald Trump said the system, which was last tested in February, has a shorter range than the missiles launched in North Korea's most recent tests.

U.S. Pacific Command said it tracked the missile until it landed into the sea.

Preparing for the Collapse of the Petrodollar System, Part 1

by Jerry Robinson

Recently, there have been many news headlines containing the words “Iran”, “nuclear capability”, “Syria“, and “Islamic State“. If you listen closely, you can almost hear the drumbeats of a fresh war in the Middle East.

As an economist, I have been trained to view the world through the lens of incentives. (I am a "bottom line" kind of guy.) And just as every action is motivated by an underlying incentive, every decision has a related consequence.

This brief article details the actions, incentives, and related consequences that the United States has created through its attempts to maintain global hegemony through something known as the petrodollar system.

Mattis: North Korea Military Solution Would Be "Tragic On An Unbelievable Scale"

With the media narrative once again focused squarely on Trump and the "Russian connection", something which will unlikely change over the next week absent "fireworks" elsewhere, the story of potential military intervention in South Korea has understandably dropped from the front pages. Although with a second US aircraft carrier now en route to the Korean Peninsula, and with Trump desperate for another "big bang" distraction, is it shortsighted to underestimate the potential of another geopolitical hotspot emerging in the next few days.

While the answer is unknown, on Friday afternoon Defense Secretary Jim Mattis reminded the American public just how high tht potential stakes are when he said that any military solution to the North Korea crisis would be "tragic on an unbelievable scale" and that Washington was working internationally to find a diplomatic solution.

Webmaster's Commentary:

China is not the problem here; how the problem can best be characterised, is that the US government is intransigent in its position that there can be no negotiations before North Korea abandons its nuclear missiles program, which means, in Kim Jung Un's mind, that North Korea should be vulnerable to invasion.

What should be happening here is a multi-lateral conference, between the US; North Korea; South Korea, and China, which would create a peace treaty to replace the existing armistice, with the quid pro quo being, that North Korea ends its nuclear weapons program in return for guarantees on trade and free movement of its people and its goods.

Of course, that...would be logical.

US: Syria Restoring Its Territory Will 'Not Be Accepted'

As we reported last week the Syrian army is making progress in the southern desert. It is edging eastwards towards the Iraqi border and towards joint US-rebel positions at al-Tanf border crossing.

We asked what happens when these two forces come within shooting distance of each other.

The question is all the more acute now as it has become apparent the US believes Syria requires US permission to restore its territory. As The Telegraph reports:

The US has sent a clear message that any government advance towards their base will not be accepted. However, it is unclear how the special forces will react to any serious provocation.

You may have thought it would be the US which required government permission to set itself up in al-Tanf, but apparently it's the other way around. It must be that al-Tanf is actually in Arizona or New Mexico.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Invading and bombing a sovereign country, which has done absolutely nothing against the US, as has been the case in Syria, where there is utterly no declaration of war, constitutes a war crime; I wish someone could explain that to President Trump.

But as I indicated in an article I posted yesterday, President "Moriarty" Trump believes war is great for the US economy, as he is on the cusp of his first visit as President to Saudi Arabia to sign new weapons deals with the Saudi government, which will be used to further the genocide in Yemen, as well as ultimately bring about a shooting war between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia characterises Iran as its "existential threat" in the region.

But the Saudis (and the American military) had better be aware that should Iran be attacked, both political and civilian leaders in Russia have vowed to come to Iran's aid.

War against Russia, in light of the fact that the US military doesn't have the troop strength, the weaponry, the money or the manufacturing to win a convention war against Russia?!?

I really don't think so!!

How Military Industrial Complex is Pushing US Toward New 'Missile Crisis

The US' dangerous muscle-flexing in Asia-Pacific is a continuation of Obama's "pivot to Asia" strategy, US peace activist Jan R. Weinberg told Sputnik. To avoid yet another missile crisis all the parties involved need to start negotiations over the long-term disarmament and eradication of nuclear weapons in the region, he stressed.

In his March interview with Sputnik the founder of "Show Up! America," Jan R. Weinberg, warned that the US-led militarization of the Asia-Pacific region might turn into the "American Missile Crisis."

"The American Missile Crisis may very well become the term that historians use to describe the precipitously dangerous, present day, militarization and terrorism issues within the Indo-Asia-Pacific region," he warned.

The Buttinski Should Butt Out of Korea

Korea is none of the U.S. government’s business. The only proper course of action is for the Pentagon and the CIA to exit the country and bring those 23,000 American soldiers stationed in Korea home. No negotiations. No agreements. No talks. Just butt out of what is none of your business and exit the scene by coming home.

Why are there 23,000 U.S. troops in Korea? It’s because the U.S. government, headed by President Harry S. Truman and his newly established national-security establishment, decided to intervene in another country’s civil war more than half-a-century ago.

That’s right — a civil war. That’s all it was.

Armed Drones: America’s Favorite Weapon, Blurring the Line between Warfare and Assassination

President Barack Obama has received much credit for drawing down American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan, but less attention has been paid to his administration’s embrace of armed drones. His expansion of covert drone strikes goes far beyond that of former President George W. Bush, and has blurred the line between warfare and assassination. The classified processes used by the White House for approving these remote killings in foreign countries – countries which the U.S. is not officially at war with – has people questioning not only the Obama administration’s tactics, but also the collateral damage of civilian casualties left in its wake.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The use of drone strikes obliterates the concept of due process, which is deeply woven into the basic tenants of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

The collateral damage these strikes do is enormous.

And they may well be radicalizing generations of people against the United State; sometimes, I have to wonder if this is not part of the design intent, this creation of a perpetual state of war, from which the US military/industrial complex profits handsomely.

U.S. MILITARY IS WORLD’S LARGEST POLLUTER – HUNDREDS OF BASES GRAVELY CONTAMINATED

Last week, mainstream media outlets gave minimal attention to the news that the U.S. Naval station in Virginia Beach had spilled an estimated 94,000 gallons of jet fuel into a nearby waterway, less than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean. While the incident was by no means as catastrophic as some other pipeline spills, it underscores an important yet little-known fact – that the U.S. Department of Defense is both the nation’s and the world’s, largest polluter.

Producing more hazardous waste than the five largest U.S. chemical companies combined, the U.S. Department of Defense has left its toxic legacy throughout the world in the form of depleted uranium, oil, jet fuel, pesticides, defoliants like Agent Orange and lead, among others.

US APPROVES $2 BILLION MISSILE SALE TO UAE

It looks like the weapons manufacturers win again as the US approves selling weapons to a foreign military known for terrorist actions.

The United Arab Emirates’s recent military decisions include violently ending democratic protests in Bahrain and participating in Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen. There have recently been massive protests against the Saudi Arabian/UAE terrorism against Yemen civilians, including using US supplied chemical weapons. The UAE participated in the terrible crimes that some call a genocide, and now they will be armed with another $2 billion dollars worth of US supplied weapons.

The Pentagon has issued a statement today confirming that the US State Department has signed off on a $2 billion sale of US-made Patriot missiles to the United Arab Emirates, adding to the tiny Gulf nation’s ever-growing military arsenal.

How wonderful that US weapons manufacturers are making a killing under President Trump's watch, both literally and figuratively.

Are You Ready to Die?

In George Orwell’s 1949 dystopian novel, 1984, information that no longer is consistent with Big Brother’s explanations is chucked down the Memory Hole. In the real American dystopia in which we currently live, the information is never reported at all.

On April 26—16 days ago—Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznihir, Deputy Chief of the Main Operations Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, stated at the Moscow International Security Conference that the Operations Command of the Russian General Staff has concluded that Washington is preparing a nuclear first strike on Russia.

How to smuggle US nuclear triggers to Israel

On May 3, 2017 the Department of Homeland Security released the most detailed files to date on the 1979-1983 Richard Kelly Smyth/Arnon Milchan/Benjamin Netanyahu krytron smuggling ring. The 100-page dossier (PDF) answers important questions about how highly sensitive US nuclear weapons technologies were smuggled out of the country in the early 1980s. The pages leave two key questions unanswered. The first is why Arnon Milchan was not indicted alongside his co-conspirator Richard Kelly Smyth. The second is why in 2016 Secretary of State John Kerry granted Milchan a long-term visa to reside in the United States even after career Department of State officials initially refused.

Trump Rejects Digital Catapults for Aircraft Carriers, Demands Return to ‘Goddamn Steam’

In the course of his interview with Time Magazine, President Trump revealed an exchange during a recent tour of the USS Gerald R. Ford, an aircraft carrier, during which he discovered that newer US aircraft carriers like the Ford use digital catapult systems for launching aircrafts.

Trump was apparently livid with the discovery, saying that digital “sounded bad to me” and demanding that the aircraft carriers go back to using “goddamn steam” for their launches, claiming it would save hundreds of millions of dollars.

There’s no evidence to support the money-saving suggestion, and the switch to the digital EMALS launchers was seen by the Navy as a necessary one. Steam-based launchers, which use the steam produced by the carrier’s nuclear power plant, are described as high-maintenance system with no feedback control, and that’s just the start of their problems.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word please; a return to steam would be the equivalent of demanding that the US Army return to horses and buggies for transport; not a very practical idea.

And if it is humanly possible for you to do, please withhold public judgement on any technology about which you know absolutely nothing, as was the case here.

Technology is great, when it works; your job, sir, as President, is to make sure that America's weapons manufacturers understand that they will deliver their products on time; that they work as advertised, and that they are within the original budget, or there will be real consequences, and not just fines.

US Fighter Pilots Set to Fly Israeli Skies in Joint Air Force Drills

The US Army has confirmed that Israeli and US pilots will be engaging joint drills this week at Uvda Air Force Base near the Israeli city of Eliat. Aircrews will be trained in a number of exercises at the base’s advance facilities while other squadrons train in the Negev Desert.

While the role of enemy aircraft will be played by the Israel Defense Forces' "Flying Dragon" or "Red" Squadron, based at Uvda, teams will operate “enemy” missile launchers and radars and infantry troops will be acting as terrorists, according to the Jerusalem Post. Haaretz reported that a number of F-15 fighters have already been sent over by the US; the "Flying Dragon" squad flies F-16 jets.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder here who the potential "targets" are supposed to be; but right now, were I a betting person, I would bet either Iran or Syria, or perhaps both.

But the problem here, stretched out on the Bosendorfer, and napping for the moment, is the 6,000 LB gorilla in the living room, and that is the presence of Russia in Syria, and Russia's oft-stated promise to assist Iran militarily, should a foreign government attempt to invade it.

War with Russia over Syria and/or Iran?!?

That those collectively in the bowels of power in both the Unhinged State of America, and Tel Aviv, should even be "thinking" in this direction is collective, hubristic madness.

S. Korea's new president willing to visit rival North

New South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Wednesday he was open to visiting rival North Korea under the right conditions to talk about Pyongyang's aggressive pursuit of nuclear-tipped missiles.

Moon's softer stance on North Korea could create friction with Washington, which has swung from threats of military action to hints of dialogue as it seeks to formulate a policy under President Donald Trump.

Moon, speaking during his oath of office as the first liberal leader in a decade, also said he'll "sincerely negotiate" with the United States, Seoul's top ally, and China, South Korea's top trading partner, over the contentious deployment of an advanced U.S. missile-defense system in southern South Korea. The system has angered Beijing, which says its powerful radars allow Washington to spy on its own military operations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These statements and sentiments will be characterized by the American Deep State as "double plus ungood", and not the outcome they had wanted, particularly in light of the following:

New South Korean President wants to resolve THAAD issue through negotiations with China and US

So, what should be celebrated as a breath of fresh air for both North and South Korea, is most probably being viewed as an horrendous turn of events by the ever war-centric creatures in the bowels of power in the Unhinged States of America.

The question is, what are they actually willing to do about it, short of a decap strike against South Korean President Moon Jae-in, or a false flag, to be blamed on North Korea?!?

Unfortunately, this move in a peaceful direction by President Moon may well be thwarted by the American Deep State; it is a matter of when, and how, and tensions on the Korean peninsula will most probably be kept artificially high, courtesy of the US government, to achieve their goals, if possible.

US Says ‘Yes’ to Nuke Tests, ‘No’ to a Nuke Ban Treaty

Twice in seven days the United States shot nuclear-capable long-range missiles toward the Marshall Islands, but the same government refused in March to join negotiations for a new treaty banning nuclear weapons.

In late March, US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley explained why the US would boycott the "treaty ban" negotiations that began March 27 at the UN in New York City. Haley said about nuclear weapons, "[W]e can’t honestly say that we can protect our people by allowing the bad actors to have them, and those of us that are good, trying to keep peace and safety not to have them." North Korean president Kim Jong-un could have said the same thing about his seven nuclear warheads, especially in view of US bombs and missiles currently falling on seven countries – Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, and Libya – and engagement in massive war games off the Korean peninsula.

IRmep asks appeals court to block Trump transfer of $3.7 billion in US aid to nuclear Israel

On May 8, 2017 IRmep Director Grant F. Smith filed an emergency motion asking the US Court of Appeals for an injunction on the immanent transfer of US foreign military assistance to Israel.

On May 5 President Trump signed into law a temporary spending measure designed to keep the US government running until September. The law included $3.7 billion in foreign aid to Israel.

Appellants argue that Israel’s nuclear weapons program requires either that the aid be withheld, or that long-neglected special procedures under the Arms Export Control Act be followed. The Trump administration has not issued required special waivers, as has been done for Pakistan and other nuclear weapons countries, that would make the aid legal under the Symington & Glenn Amendments.

Jordan, US launch Eager Lion military exercise

Jordan and the United States kicked off Eager Lion, an annual military exercise with about 7,400 troops from more than 20 nations taking part, on Sunday.

US and Jordanian officials said the manoeuvres would include border security, cyber-defence, and "command and control" exercises to bolster coordination in response to threats including "terrorism".

"Joint efforts and coordination and the exchange of expertise ... are needed at the time when the region is facing the threat of terrorism," Jordanian Brigadier-General Khalid al-Sharaa, who will head the exercise, told reporters.

US Major-General Bill Hickman, deputy commanding officer for the American army in the region, said this year's Eager Lion exercise - the seventh so far - is "the largest and most complex to date".

These Nuclear Breakthroughs Are Endangering the World

At a time of growing tensions between nuclear powers – Russia and NATO in Europe, and the US, North Korea, and China in Asia – Washington has quietly upgraded its nuclear weapons arsenal to create, according to three leading American scientists, “exactly what one would expect to see, if a nuclear-armed state were planning to have the capacity to fight and win a nuclear war by disarming enemies with a surprise first strike.”

Writing in the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, Hans Kristensen, director of the Nuclear Information Project of the Federation of American Scientists, Matthew McKinzie of the National Resources Defense Council, and physicist and ballistic missile expert Theodore Postol conclude that “Under the veil of an otherwise-legitimate warhead life-extension program,” the US military has vastly expanded the “killing power” of its warheads such that it can “now destroy all of Russia’s ICBM silos.”

OBAMA DID A HIGHLY SUSPECT $400M + ARMS DEAL ON HIS FINAL DAY AS PRESIDENT, US LAWMAKER CALLS FOR PROBE INTO POSSIBLE $418M ARMS SALE TO KENYA

A North Carolina congressman is calling for a probe into a potential $418 million contract between Kenya and a major U.S. defense contractor announced on President Obama's last day in office -- a deal the lawmaker claims reeks of cronyism.

Republican Rep. Ted Budd wants the Government Accountability Office to investigate a deal between the African nation and New York-based L3 Technologies for the sale of 12 weaponized border patrol planes. He said he wants to know why a veteran-owned small company in North Carolina – which specializes in making such planes – was not considered as the manufacturer.

IOMAX USA Inc., based in Mooresville and founded by a U.S. Army veteran, offered to build Kenya the weaponized planes for roughly $281 million – far cheaper than what its competitor, L3, is selling them for.

"Something smells wrong here," Budd told Fox News. "The U.S. Air Force bypassed IOMAX, which has 50 of these planes already in service in the Middle East."

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Pure coincidence", my ASTROLABE?!?

If there was ever a political animal in the White House who understood how to milk crony capitalism, it was President Barak Obama.

I am quite certain that President Obama received his (covertly done) reward from L3 when then deal was struck; after all, being President of the Unhinged States of America is generally all about the money and deals you can conjure up afterward.

Sauron Rules in Washington

A reader asked why neoconservatives push toward nuclear war when there can be no winners. If all die, what is the point?

Their insane plan is as follows: Washington will ring Russia and China with anti-ballistic missile bases in order to provide a shield against a retaliatory strike from Russia and China. Moreover, these US anti-ABM bases also can deploy nuclear attack missiles unknown to Russia and China, thus reducing the warning time to five minutes, leaving Washington’s victims little or no time in which to make a decision.

It is Washington that wants to snuff out human morality and beome the master of the planet. As I have previously written, Washington without any question is Sauron. The only important question is whether there is sufficient good left in the world to resist and overcome Washington’s evil.

Elite troops are being worked too hard and spread too thin, military commander warns

The breakneck pace at which the United States deploys its special operations forces to conflict zones is taking a toll, their top commander told Congress on Thursday.

Army Gen. Raymond Thomas, commander of U.S. Special Operations Command, called the rate at which special operations forces are being deployed “unsustainable” and said the growing reliance of the U.S. military on its elite troops could produce a dangerous strain.

“We are not a panacea,” he told the Senate Armed Services Committee. “We are not the ultimate solution to every problem, and you will not hear that coming from us.”

About 8,000 U.S. special forces are currently deployed in more than 80 countries, Thomas said. Many are at the forefront of advising missions in Syria and Iraq as well as counterterrorism missions in Afghanistan. There are about 500 special operators in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This over stress of our Special Forces is one of the reasons I believe that the US government will be returning to the draft in the very near future.

Please understand: I respect our military greatly, and believe that they should get the best of everything, including the kind of health care Dick Cheney receives; they have earned it.

But that being said, as a Christian pacifist activist, I wish to heck that the US government would frequently employ moral, hard-won negotiations as the way in which to resolve its geopolitical differences, rather than through war.

What the N. Korean “Crisis” Is Really About

The North Korean “crisis” is a Washington orchestration. North Korea was last at war 1950-53. N. Korea has not attacked or invaded anyone in 64 years. N. Korea lacks the military strength to attack any country, such as South Korea and Japan, that is protected by the US. Moreover, China would not permit N. Korea to start a war.

So what is the demonization of N. Korea by the presstitutes and Trump administration about?

It is about the same thing that the demonization of Iran was about. The “Iranian threat” was an orchestration that was used as cover to put US anti-ballistic missile bases on Russia’s borders. An anti-ballistic missile (ABM) is intended to intercept and destroy nuclear-armed ICBMs (intercontinental ballistic missiles) and prevent them from reaching their targets.

Alarm Grows in Washington as Saudi Coalition Attack on Yemen Port Appears Imminent

The Saudi war in Yemen has already been a humanitarian disaster, and nowhere has that been more apparent than in the nation’s Shi’ite north, where a naval blockade and the fall of all but one Houthi-held port have dramatically limited access to food aid. And it’s about to get a lot worse.

With signs that a Saudi attack on that last port, Hodeidah, the Pentagon has made clear they’d very much like to join the Saudi invasion, seeing the conquest of that last aid port as a hugely decisive moment in the war. Congress, however, isn’t nearly so supportive.

A new open letter from a bipartisan group of Congressmen has called on Defense Secretary James Mattis to “reconsider” the push for involvement, warning that support for the war was never authorized by Congress, and that the US shouldn’t participates in the “senseless humanitarian tragedy.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This statement from Congress is not going to deter the Pentagon from pressing forward with this US-militarily enabled, Saudi war crimes and genocide in Yemen; The US government has allowed the Saudis to buy weapons and has (allegedly) provided "guidance" for their air assaults.

Fact: the Saudis have been killing and maiming Yemeni children in these bombing runs.

Images: Yemeni children assassinated and maimed for life from Saudi bombings

Fact: the Saudi blockade of Yemeni ports has resulted in children dying horrifically from the effects of malnutrition and starvation.Images: Yemeni children slowly,
horrifically dying from malnutrition, due to Saudi port blockades

Fact: the Saudi military are using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen.

Images: Saudi military using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen

Fact: the use of depleted uranium is having precisely the same effect on Yemeni babies in the womb as it did in Fallujah, Iraq, which means that in Yemen, doctors whose hospitals have not yet been bombed into rubble by the Saudis are seeing a massive spike in cancers, birth defects, and stillbirths. Warning: these images are very graphic.

Images: Yemeni children born with profound birth defects, courtesy of Saudi use of depleted uranium

Having been complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen for the past two years, the Pentagon will only see the assassinations of innocent civilians with their "victory" at Hodeidah as simply collateral damage, and of no consequence whatsoever.

In fact, the US government's willing participation and complicity in Saudi war crimes in Yemen very much reminds me of the statement made by the Papal legate at the siege of Montsegur against the Cathars. Upon being informed that there were women and children there, as well as men, he gave the command: "Kill them all; God will find his own."

In fact, I am rather astonished that the US military hasn't dropped MOABS over all the major civilian population centers in Yemen by now, to kill every Yemeni civilian who is still breathing, to put an end, once and for all, to the Houthi insurgency

POWER IN MILITARY BLACK BUDGETS

The top five military contractors by sales are Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumann, General Dynamics and Raytheon. In addition to the Department of Defense allocations, the top five intelligence agencies that often provide military use applications are the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, the National Reconnaissance Office, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Program and the General Defense Intelligence Program. The actual amount of monies that go into funding off the books secret projects, estimated by Bill Sweetman as cited in the Economic Crisis and the Pentagon`s Black Budget, exceeds rational comprehension. "The Pentagon’s ‘black’ operations, including the intelligence budgets nested inside it, are roughly equal in magnitude to the entire defense budgets of the UK, France or Japan, and ten percent of the total."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The amount of money spent, and untracked here, is absoflippinglutely unbelievable.

North Korea says U.S. bomber flights push peninsula to brink of nuclear war

North Korea accused the United States on Tuesday of pushing the Korean peninsula to the brink of nuclear war after a pair of strategic U.S. bombers flew training drills with the South Korean and Japanese air forces in another show of strength.

The two supersonic B-1B Lancer bombers were deployed amid rising tensions over North Korea's pursuit of its nuclear and missile programmes in defiance of U.N. sanctions and pressure from the United States.

The flight of the two bombers on Monday came as U.S. President Donald Trump said he would be "honoured" to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the right circumstances, and as his CIA director landed in South Korea for talks.

South Korean Defence Ministry spokesman Moon Sang-gyun told a briefing in Seoul that Monday's joint drill was conducted to deter provocations by the North.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The American Deep State is hungry for war; and in light of the fact that the demonisation of Russia appears to be somewhat subdued, at least at the moment, North Korea made itself a convenient target when it resumed its bombing tests.

I would like to hope that South Korea is able to, peacefully, elect its new president one week from today, but that remains to be seen.

IF North Korea holds off on any testing until well after the elections in the south, hoping for a "dove" who favors the Sunshine Policy with the north, the only way the US government can get its war going is through a false flag; and if South Korea gets its peace candidate elected, look for a US-generated false flag, to be blamed on North Korea to get the war well and truly moving.

And looking at the predilections of the American Deep State, I would not put it past the US government to do just that.

The Relentless Push Towards War: “What Could Possibly Go Wrong… How About EVERYTHING?”

Possible reasons range from an itchy military industrial complex that is disappointed that it cannot seem to goad the US into war with Russia and North Korea just happened to be next on the list, to the idea that Trump is really seeking trade deal concessions from South Korea and is using the North Korean situation as leverage.

The latter is not out of the realm of the possible, with Trump having said he wants South Korea to pay for the THAAD system being installed and that he wants to renegotiate our balance of trade with them, too.

Who says stuff like that at a time when war might break out? Someone who doesn’t really appreciate the gravity of the situation, I’d suggest. I mean, if it’s a negotiating tactic, it’s one that could end up with a lot of people losing their lives and a ruined economy. If it’s a negotiating tactic stapled to a crisis, it’s still an odd thing.

Conclusion

Webmaster's Commentary:

I hope and pray that the Trump Administration will find a way, other than war, to deal with North Korea; but right now, as this article indicates, elements in the Deep American state are leading the drive toward a war against it.

And unfortunately, just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing our government could do, is absolutely no guarantee that it won't do it!!.

America’s War against the People of Korea: The Historical Record of US War Crimes

An armistice is an agreement by the warring parties to stop fighting. It does signify the end of war.

What underlies the 1953 Armistice Agreement is that one of the warring parties, namely the US has consistently threatened to wage war on the DPRK for the last 60 years.

The US has on countless occasions violated the Armistice Agreement. It has remained on a war footing. Casually ignored by the Western media and the international community, the US has actively deployed nuclear weapons targeted at North Korea for more than half a century in violation of article 13b) of the Armistice agreement.

The armistice remains in force. The US is still at war with Korea. It is not a peace treaty, a peace agreement was never signed.

How Bio-Weapons Led To Torture ... And North Korean Nukes

In Why North Korea Needs Nukes - And How To End That we pointed to the utter destruction the U.S. and its allies waged in the war on Korea on all parts of the country. That North Korea seeks "weapons of mass destruction" is quite understandable when one takes into account the hundreds of thousands tons of napalm used against it. But even Napalm and the criminal destruction of North Korean dams were not the worst depravation the U.S. applied. Biological warfare agents, primarily anthrax, were dropped over North Korea and China and killed civilians. The U.S./UN command denied such use and covered it up. One consequence of that cover up was the development of torture methods in the U.S. SERE pilot training programs and their later proliferation into criminal abuses in Guantanamo, Abu Graibh and elsewhere. An important piece of evidence of this trail was recently and for the first time re-published on the web

When 'Sunshine' Ruled on the Korean Peninsula

Before South Korea’s conservative presidents severed ties with North Korea from 2008, their liberal predecessors Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun promoted peaceful engagement and rapprochement, an approach called the “sunshine policy.”

The name stemmed from an ancient Greek fable where the wind and the sun competed to remove a man’s cloak. No matter how strongly the wind blew, the man only wrapped his cloak more tightly to keep warm. But when the sun shone, the warmth made him take his cloak off. The wind symbolized unsuccessful coercive policies toward North Korea and the sun stood for an approach able to persuade North Korea to take off its anachronistic and uncomfortable cloak, changing at last.

USA’s military pressure on North Korea threatens global catastrophe

"Switching from polemics to power actions is unacceptable. I do not think one has to be an expert to understand that the military scenario to resolve the situation on the Korean Peninsula will trigger a colossal global catastrophe in all dimensions," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said.

Russia reacts to possible nuclear strike from USA

Russia will be able to give a tough answer to a nuclear strike that the United States may inflict on Russia, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Franz Klintsevich said, RIA Novosti reports.

The senator has thus commented on the statement from first deputy head of the Main Operations Directorate of Russia's General Staff, Gen. Viktor Poznikhir. According to the general, the US missile defense system in Europe creates an opportunity for a sudden nuclear attack on Russia.

According to Klintsevich, the general sent a clear signal to the US leadership and warned the United States any any development of events will not come as a surprise to Russia. "I think that this reminder will not be superfluous. Let them know what we know, so to speak," the senator wrote on his Facebook page.

BEXALERT: GOP Lawmaker: U.S. Won’t Spray Opium in Afghanistan Because Crops ‘Might Be Too Close to a Mosque’

WASHINGTON D.C. — The United States had the ability to use aerial spraying to destroy the opium crops in Afghanistan used by the Taliban to fund their terrorist activities after 9/11 but refused to do so out of concern that the plants “might be too close to a mosque,” declared Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) during a congressional hearing.

We all know why they wont spray the poppies. Cuts into the CIA's profits!

US Pacific Commander: Pyongyang’s Actions Could Justify Invasion of North Korea

Appearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) on Thursday, US Pacific Commander Admiral Harry Harris Jr. refused to take an American invasion of North Korea off the table, as Pyongyang has already “provided provocation” to justify such an invasion, the District Sentinel reported.

In an exchange charitably describable as awkward, Harris was asked by South Carolina Republican and SASC member Lindsey Graham, "Is it fair to say, we do not have any intention of invading North Korea at all? Nobody has told you get ready to invade North Korea."

"That is not fair to say, sir," Harris answered, probably not the reply Graham was hoping for. "I believe the president has said that all options are on the table."

Harris: "I don't want to get into what we could or couldn't do."

"Well North Korea thinks we're going to invade at any moment. Do you think that's part of our national security strategy – without provocation to attack North Korea?" Graham asked.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The cost of such an invasion of North Korea, in blood and money, would be horrific; I would like to hope that the US government is not seriously thinking about doing this.

China To Test New Weapons, Stage Live Fire Drills In Retaliation To US THAAD Deployment

Two days after the US military began to move the controversial THAAD anti-missile system into its deployment site in a South Korean golf course (over the protests of hundreds of locals who were promptly quieted when the police showed up), despite vocal protests from China which is "resolutely opposed" to the THAAD deployment and believes such a move would destabilize the regional balance of power, China said on Thursday that it would stage live fire drills and test new weapons to protect its national security, its Defense Ministry said.

"The deployment of the THAAD anti-missile system in South Korea damages the regional strategic balance and stability. The Chinese side is resolutely opposed to this" Defense Ministry spokesman Yang Yujun told reporters on Thursday when asked about the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I thought that after Zi Jinping's visit with President Trump at "War-a-Largo", that relations between our two countries were going to get better; apparently, by moving the THAAD system into South Korea, and very much earlier than originally scheduled, President Trump has ticked off Chinese President Jinping mightily.

Please Lord, let cooler heads prevail here; Chinese rockets CAN hit Hawaii, so color Mike and I thoroughly nervous, upon this development.

Japan Warns Citizens To Prepare For North Korean Missile Attack

As the United States begins to move elements of its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system to a deployment site in South Korea earlier than expected - in the name of defending against the “evil North Korea” of the mainstream narrative - Japan is warning its citizens they’ll have little time to find safety if Kim Jong-un launches an attack.

The government’s advice, essentially, is to find cover, meaning a sturdy building or structure — in itself a largely ineffectual tip, given their own guidelines admit “It is extremely difficult to be able to pinpoint missile landing areas before their launch.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I frankly think Kim Jung Un is too wily to order an attack against either Japan or South Korea, because he understands that the US will uncork, and turn North Korea into a molten sea of green glass if he does so; if something happens off of either country, it will most probably be a US-instigated "false flag" to get the war going, and time is definitely running out before South Korea's 9 May election to do this.

But I am still not really certain, at the moment, that this will happen; the Senators who attended yesterday's briefing left with little hard evidence, and probably, more questions than answers.

I will be very interested in seeing the responses of members of the House to their briefing, which happens later today.

Trump has Major Trip to Saudi Arabia Planned, will Discuss Massive Weapons Deal for Saudis

Bowing to pressure from the H.R. McMaster, Dina Powell, Gary Cohn coalition, President Donald Trump’s first overseas trip is scheduled to be in Saudi Arabia, multiple sources confirmed after Steve Holland of Reuters first reported rumors of the trip. This decision has split Trump’s base, which views the Saudis as the largest state sponsor of Islamic terrorism.

During the visit Trump will discuss a proposed arms package for the Saudis, which would include a massive missile defense system as well as civilian nuclear technology. Behind the scenes McMaster will be seeking Saudi support for a ground war in Syria, which Mike Cernovich first reported in an article whose reporting was confirmed by Eli Lake of Bloomberg.

“Trump doesn’t want to go,” one person with knowledge of the trip said, “but Powell and Cohn are making him.”

When asked how Powell and Cohn could force President Trump do to anything, the source replied,

Webmaster's Commentary:

Well, now we know who's calling the shots on American foreign policy, and that's the "unholy trinity" of McMaster, Powell, and Cohn.

The offensive weapons will be used to finish the Saudi genocide in Yemen, which is an appalling mass of war crimes, which just gets worse by the hour.

And the defensive weapons are designed to put Saudi Arabia on defense and nuclear parity with Iran.

But getting Saudi Arabi to sign off on a ground war in Syria?!? This most probably means two things; direct military confrontation with Russia here, and most probably the return of the draft.

The reuters article about it indicates that such a meeting will most probably happen in late May, when President Trump will be Europe for meetings, or perhaps early June:

Trump is already planning to attend a NATO summit in Brussels on May 25 and travel to Sicily for a Group of Seven leaders' summit scheduled for May 26-28.

Even if the US really backs off on its aggressive posture against North Korea, we are still then looking at yet another massive military intervention in the Middle East. And frankly, I am expecting that to go just as well.... as have the US military interventions in Afghanistan; Iraq; Libya; Somalia; and Syria.

Pentagon Warns of Heavy Casualties in a New Korean War

While the content of a high-profile White House meeting in which the entire US Senate was briefed about North Korea has not been totally made public, official attempts to emphasize the non-military efforts being made appear to be just one aspect of the story, as the consequences of a military conflict appear to also have been discussed.

Military officials emphasized the increased naval buildup around the Korean Peninsula, and preparations being made for a new Korean War, while also offering some frank warnings that North Korea would certainly retaliate against an American attack, and that such a retaliation would include major attacks against US forces in South Korea, and the South Korean capital of Seoul.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The cost, in blood and money, for such an attack would be monumental on both sides.

What the US government should be doing is working with Chinese President Xi Jinping to get North Korean leadership back to the negotiating table, as well as South Korea, and put together a true peace treaty, which would replace the existing armistice (which is simply the cessation of hostilities), with the quid pro quo that for the peace treaty, North Korea stops its nuclear weapons program.

Of course, this...would be logical.

Lavrov: Heavy-Handed Stance on N Korea ‘Fraught With Catastrophic Consequences’

The Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday warned that military options in resolving the North Korean issue are fraught with disaster in the region, reiterating Moscow’s concerns with the deployment of the US missile system in South Korea.

“It is obvious that heavy-handed approaches that are beginning to be mentioned publicly are fraught with catastrophic consequences for the Korean Peninsula and the whole of Northeast Asia,” Lavrov said.

Speaking at the VI Moscow Conference on International Security, he expressed concern about the degrading situation in the region with North Korea’s continued development of its nuclear missile program.

Lavrov also voiced Moscow’s disapproval “with the disproportionate build-up under the pretext of the North Korean threat of the US and its regional allies’ military activity.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have a great deal of respect for Lavrov, and his assessment of the situation is absolutely correct.

I am very concerned about the amount of hardware and personnel the US has packed on those warships off the Korean peninsula. One miscalculation, one stupid mis-judgement, and we are off and running into a shooting war - not just with North Korea, but with China as well.

I am hoping - and praying - that nothing goes "bang" in the region before the South Korean election on 9 May, and if the favored candidate does exercise the "sunshine policy" with regard to North Korea, which is a policy of engagement and rapprochement with the North, that tensions will ratchet down.

Unfortunately, however, there are those in the "deep American state" who believe that war is the only way to turn the fragile US economy around, and they are still cheer-leading for it to happen.

And also, unfortunately, the state of Hawaii may well be the "sacrificial lamb", as it was to get World War II going, to get a new war going against North Korea.

The Looting Machine Called Capitalism

Capitalism is the Banksters economic system they have imposed on the Planet.
America's Original economic system was free enterprise. When the Brits tried to impose an early form of capitalism on America known as Mercantilism they got a Revolution. The Banksters eventually got us back into their Satanic Economic System. PCR is 100% right. Capitalism and its handmaiden fractional reserve banking also known as Usury are nothing but a Gigantic Looting and Killing Machine!
The Looting Machine Called Capitalism
Paul Craig Roberts

I have come to the conclusion that capitalism is successful primarily because it can impose the majority of the costs associated with its economic activities on outside parties and on the environment. In other words, capitalists make profits because their costs are externalized and born by others. In the US, society and the environment have to pick up the tab produced by capitalist activity.

7 Nuclear Weapon Screw-Ups You Won't Believe We Survived

From the 1950s up through the early 1990s, the specter of nuclear war cast a shadow over the world like a giant, gloomy mushroom tattoo. Hollywood and our own morbid imaginations came up with any number of scenarios that would wipe out humanity in a series of blinding flashes: robots, Russian and American policies of mutually assured destruction. But Kubrick was probably closest when he imagined the nuclear era as a game of poker between cocky, absent-minded lunatics. Only he probably didn't go far enough.

Tsar Bomba, largest thermonuclear hydrogen bomb ever tested

Tsar Bomba was big enough to cause a fireball that was seen 600 miles away, meaning if it was dropped over Manhattan, you would have been able to watch New York City burn from Virginia. Windowpanes would have been broken down through South Carolina. Even though they dropped Tsar Bomba over a deserted area in the Arctic Circle, wooden houses were destroyed and stone houses had their roofs blown off hundreds of miles away. The shock wave was so extreme that even with the parachute giving them a 20-mile head start, the plane that dropped it was knocked into a free fall for a half-mile before catching itself and continuing to get out of Dodge.

Gulp.

M1978 Koksan: 170-mm self-propelled gun

36+ miles with a RAP!

The M1978 Koksan self-propelled gun was developed in North Korea. A key requirement for this artillery system was the capability of reaching Seoul from the north of the demilitarized zone. Designation of this vehicle was allocated by the US Department of Defense. It was first observed by US intelligence in 1978 in the city of Koksan, hence its designation. This artillery system was first publicly revealed in 1985. It is in service with the North Korean army, however the number employed in not publicly reported.

A number of these self-propelled guns were supplied to Iran. Some of these were captured by Iraq in the late 1980s during Iran-Iraq war.

Trump Talks Tough on North Korea

On Wednesday afternoon, Trump will hold a briefing for all 100 senators on North Korea. Reportedly a similar session is planned for House members – both meetings to be held in a “sensitive compartmented information facility” in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.

Secretary of Defense Mattis, Joint Chiefs Chairman Dunford, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coates, and Secretary of State Tillerson will conduct the briefing.

On April 25, marking the anniversary of the founding of its army, North Korea held live-fire drills, involving hundreds of artillery pieces – instead of a sixth nuclear test some observers expected.

According to China Foundation for International and Strategic Studies Foreign Policy director Zhang Tuosheng, pressure from China, Washington, South Korea and Japan got Pyongyang to show restraint – whether short or longer-term remains to be seen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is why the US government and military will most probably not wait until the 9 May election to create some kind of false flag against North Korea, and we'll be off and running.

The fact that China has been sending some mixed messages on their potential range of responses to a US tactical strike against North Korea makes Mike and me more than a little nervous; Oahu is a critical military communications link to all of Asia, and would be a first-strike target in case China decides to go to war with the US over any such incident against North Korea.

Le Parisien uncovers French lie on 1960 nuke test

A report says France covered up the extent of the nuclear fallout from its first atomic bomb test in North Africa.

The report published by the French daily Le Parisien was based on a recently declassified military map regarding the fallout from the detonation of the Gerbouise Bleue bomb in the Algerian desert in 1960.

The map revealed that radioactive particles reached the Italian island of Sicily and the southern Spanish coast on the 13th day after the blast.

Lawyer Fatima Benbraham, who represents dozens of cases in Algeria, said the map shows that Algeria and practically the whole Saharan region was contaminated following the atomic test.

Trump administration to brief full U.S. Congress on North Korea policy

U.S. lawmakers want to leave briefings on North Korea on Wednesday with something many think has been absent in the Trump administration so far: a clear strategy for dealing with a major national security threat.

As a standoff escalated over the reclusive Asian nation's development of nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missiles, President Donald Trump invited all 100 members of the Senate to attend the session with Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and Marine General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

While administration officials typically travel to the Capitol building to brief lawmakers on national security issues, on Wednesday the entire Senate will hop on a bus to the White House where four top officials will meet with them simultaneously. The same four officials will then go to Capitol Hill to brief the entire House at 5 p.m. EDT (2100 GMT), a senior House aide said.

Trump Wants Regime Change in Syria

In March 2011, Obama launched war on Syria to destroy its sovereignty and replace Assad with pro-Western puppet rule.

Trump upped the stakes. He escalated war, increased US terror-bombing, and doubled the number of US forces on the ground ahead of likely larger numbers coming.

His hugely dangerous war plan risks direct confrontation with Russia. Instead of governing responsibly, he’s recklessly risking possible nuclear war in the Middle East and on the Korean peninsula.

Ukrainian Army Continues its Advance into Donbass

The Ukrainian army continues to increase its activity in the east of the country in the combat zone between the Ukrainian armed forces and the Luhansk People’s Republic’s units. Thus, in the morning of April 23 a patrol vehicle of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) blew up on a mine in not controlled by Kiev Slavyanoserbsky district of the Lugansk region. As a result of the explosion, a US citizen working as a medical officer of the mission was killed and two mission employees were injured.

Being unable to conduct active armed actions, Kiev focused its efforts on asymmetric combat operations against the Donbass insurgents through sabotage actions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So THIS is what Trump's White House, and Rex Tillerson are supporting by supporting the Ukraine?!? Assassinations and terroristic activities by Ukrainian troops?!?

These activities are a testament to the ultimate, inescapable reality that no matter who sits in the Oval Office, the American Deep State, and its paranoiac, warmongering nature, never changes.

This is why, when people from all areas of the political spectrum in this country believe that their votes will bring a change for more peaceful resolutions of geopolitical issues, what they get is ... more wars.

We are potentially looking at war against North Korea; more war in Yemen; war in Somalia; war against Iran; war in Syria; and ultimately, war against China and Russia, to prevent the rise of the yuan and the ruble against the American dollar.

Under President Trump's watch, I thoroughly expect to see the reinstitution of the draft; and this time, the government will not just be coming for our young men; they will be coming for our young women also.

US General Thinks Russia Must Be Arming the Taliban

The Afghan War is going extremely poorly, 16 years in, and the US military needs someone to blame for its failures. The first choice among a lot of top military figures seems to be Russia, and while they offer no evidence to back up their claims, several have alleged that Russia might conceivably be arming the Taliban.

US commandeer Gen. John Nicholson appeared to be joining that camp today during comments in Kabul, complaining about the “malign influence” of Russia in the country, and insisting that he was “not refuting” allegations of Russia shipping weapons to the Taliban.

“Not refuting” is a very weak version of alleging, in this case, as US officials have offered no evidence that this is the case, nor any plausible reason why Russia would conceivably do this, as Russia fought materially the same insurgency during the 1970s and 1980s.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reality here is that the war in Afghanistan was stupidly conceived, through a toxic combination of magical thinking, illogic, and a pathological inability to think a scenario through to its logical conclusion, and horribly executed, by the US and NATO, which still occupy the country today.

Blaming Russia for the US and NATO's failures in Afghanistan sound both like desperation on the cusp of madness, and a ramping up of the demonisation of Russia ahead of a potential attack against it, without any tangible evidence that these accusations are true.

What US and NATO leadership should do, from the most rational perspective, is to cut their losses; have all foreign troops leave Afghanistan, as quickly as it is safe to do so; then negotiate with whatever government is left standing in Kabul for pipeline rights, and access to Afghanistan's rich mineral deposits.

Of course, that....would be logical.

White House to Host Entire Senate for North Korea Briefing

Weeks of speculation that the US is about to attack North Korea are again accelerating, with the White House announcing that they intend to play host to the entire Senate on Wednesday for an official briefing on the situation, with virtually the entire cabinet.

Such a briefing for the full Senate is extremely unusual, especially in the White House, which means this must be a very important meeting, which is once again adding fuel to the idea that the US is going to do something big, potentially a military attack.

This comes amid a new round of speculation that North Korea might be planning to carry out another nuclear test, with a holiday coming up this week and a round of intramural volleyball at the test facility having concluded, meaning they’re no longer too busy to do the test.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, we have the briefing of the Senate on North Korea tomorrow, and Tillerson will be addressing the UN about North Korea on Friday.

I would very strongly suggest that this is NOT sound and fury, signifying "nothing"; I think the attack is well and truly planned, and that South Korea, unfortunately, will suffer greatly from the repercussions of such an attack.

The complete and utter unwillingness of the US government to sit down with North Korea, South Korea, and China, and hammer out a peace deal with which to replace the armistice, creating a quid pro quo that accepting such a deal means the North Korean government stops its nuclear weapons program, is absolutely baffling to me.

This would be the most logical thing in the world for the US government to do, under these circumstances.

But unfortunately, logic, and the US government, have not had a good relationship in quite some time now, and with these threats to North Korea, you can see how that is playing out, in this grand geopolitical theatre, most likely leading to a war against it.

Panic Buying Hits Japan Ahead Of Possible War: “Nuke Shelters, Air Purifiers, Anti-Radiation Supplies…” by Mac Slavo

As tensions heat up with North Korea and the potential for a nuclear exchange becomes all the more real, residents of Japan are panic buying everything from nuclear shelters to air purifiers in preparation:

Sales of nuclear shelters and radiation-blocking air purifiers have surged in Japan in recent weeks as North Korea has pressed ahead with missile tests in defiance of U.N. sanctions.

A small company that specializes in building nuclear shelters, generally under people’s houses, has received eight orders in April alone compared with six orders during a typical year.

The company, Oribe Seiki Seisakusho, based in Kobe, western Japan, also has sold out of 50 Swiss-made air purifiers, which are said to keep out radiation and poisonous gas, and is trying to get more, said Nobuko Oribe, the company’s director

Webmaster's Commentary:

War jitters do push the sale of products; except that this time, it really feels that the US and North Korea are on a precipice from which neither country feels it can back down, and the sense of war actually happening here, is eminent.

Tensions With North Korea Rise as Volleyball Game Ends

Tensions between the United States and North Korea continue to soar, with speculation that the US could still attack North Korea at any moment, with the USS Carl Vinson and its carrier strike group expected to arrive in the vicinity in the next few days.

The Carl Vinson has been driving a lot of speculations lately, but South Korean officials saw another reason to be concerned, that the North Korean volleyball games taking place at one of their nuclear sites appear to have come to an end, which they used to speculate that another nuclear test could be imminent.

The intramural volleyball games at Punggye-ri have been the subject of considerable attention, with some speculating that the games were organized to “confuse” the United States, while North Korean state media offered no insight into what the games were all about.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were I a betting person, I would almost be ready to bet that the military confrontation between the US and North Korea is eminent, and may happen within a matter of days.

I am hoping cooler heads will prevail on this, but I just don't see it right now.

U.S. SIGNALS GREATER INVOLVEMENT IN SAUDI-LED WAR IN YEMEN

Secretary of Defense James Mattis said last week that the U.S. would increase its involvement in the Saudi-led war in Yemen, a war that has claimed the lives of 4,000 civilians in two years and drawn international criticism for war crimes committed by the Saudis.

As the Trump administration’s foreign policy continues to push the U.S. closer to a new war, Secretary of Defense James Mattis announced last week that the U.S. is set to increase support for Saudi Arabia’s war in Yemen, a war that has drawn international condemnation for the Saudis’ frequent bombings of civilian infrastructure like schools and hospitals.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec-Def Mattis, a word, please.

The level of Iranian assistance to the Houthi rebels has been a very hard bit to pin down.

And if you really want to identify the most destabilising culprit in the Middle East, who is the trouble maker par excellence, you have to look no further than the country of Israel, which was cheerleading for the war against Iraq, and is currently campaigning to ratchet up the war against Al-Assad in Syria, and to regime change Iran (and for Tel Aviv, these actions always should be purchased with American blood and money; never their own.)

In the meanwhile, there is a question I must ask you, even if others fear asking it: how morally comfortable are you, please, in the US government's being complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen?!?

The Saudis are killing and maiming innocent children with their bombing runs.
The US military is providing "guidance" for these strikes.

images: Yemeni children killed and maimed through Saudi bombing strikes

Yemeni children are being starved to death through malnutrition, because of US-Enabled, Saudi blockades of Yemeni ports:

Images: Yemeni children dying from malnutrition, due to Saudi port blockades in Yemen

The Saudi military is using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen:

Saudi coalition using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen

The result of this use of DU is causing massive rises in cancer rates; stillbirths, and horrific deformities of Yemeni children:

Images: Yemeni children born with horrific birth defects due to exposure to depleted uranium weapons

And yet, apparently, the Royal House of Saud; the Saudi government; and the US government, and you, sir, are perfectly comfortable with poisoning Yemeni children in the womb, and destroying not only their lives, but their families' lives as well. If there is a more cruel form of child abuse, I cannot imagine what that is.

I am profoundly reminded, in this obscenely callous disregard for human life as reflected in these Saudi military tactics, of the comment made by the Papal Legate at the siege of Montsegur against the Cathars, when he was informed that not only men were in the besieged castle, but women and children were also with them. He said, "Kill them all; God will find his own."

I just have to wonder when the massive air strikes, coupled with US boots on the ground, will accomplish this Saudi genocide in Yemen. And my sense of it is, relatively soon.

And by the way, Sec-Def Mattis: are you going to be informing our military who will comprise the "boots on the ground" element of the US military's plan to obliterate the Yemeni people in full, that if they are deployed to Yemen, they and their families also risk exposure to DU, and that their kids may well be born with precisely the same birth defects we are seeing in Yemeni children, and we did with the Iraqi children of Fallujah?!?

Thought not.

US Defense Secretary Targets Syria with Chemical Weapons Allegations

Speaking on a visit to Israel on Friday, US Defense Secretary James “Mad Dog” Mattis charged that the Syrian government has violated an agreement brokered by Moscow in 2013 by holding onto chemical weapons.

“The bottom line is there can be no doubt in the international community’s mind that Syria has retained chemical weapons in violation of its agreement and its statement that it had removed them all,” Mattis said during a press conference standing alongside his Israeli counterpart, the extreme right-wing Zionist Avigdor Lieberman.

Mattis refused to provide any estimate of what quantity of chemical weapons he believes are in Syrian hands, claiming that it would compromise intelligence sources. He charged, however, that Damascus was in violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and warned that it would be “ill-advised to use any again. We’ve made that very clear with our first strike.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

All the various wars are back, and with a vengeance; and the American Deep State believes that they need to go very quickly into Syria; North Korea; Iran; Somalia; and parts of Iraq, and regime change them all, before Americans start thinking, rejecting the codswallop they are being force-fed by both the US government, and its corporate presstitutes to further its agenda, and start protesting in the numbers which stopped the Vietnam War.

Because that is what it will take to end this war agenda, if it is humanly possible to do so at this point.

IF Americans cannot and do not act against these wars, in the most peaceful, and logical way possible, humanity is facing a global catastrophe of Biblical proportions.

Netanyahu Meets Mattis, Lauds 'Change in U.S. Leadership, Policy' in Mideast

Meeting took place after U.S. defense chief Mattis sat down with Israeli counterpart in Tel Aviv, said Iran continues to threaten Israel with ballistic missiles.

U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Jerusalem on Friday.

Prior to the meeting Netanyahu said that he sees a "great change" in the direction of U.S. policy in the Middle East, lauding Mattis and President Donald Trump's recent statements on Iran as well as U.S. action against Syria's use of chemical weapons. "It's appreciated around the world and in our region," Netanyahu said, according to a press release.

"I think this is a welcome change, a strategic change in U.S. leadership and policy," the prime minister said, according to the press release.
Netanyahu also said that Israel and the U.S. both face the "double threat" of "radical Islam," referring to Iran and ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I've just done a double-palmed faceplant, at warp speed, upon reading this.

IF Tehran has ballistic missiles pointed at Israel, don't tell me for one second that Israel doesn't have ballistic missiles pointed at Iran!!

And to conflate the Wahhabi-flavored radicalised Islam of ISIS with the moderate Shia Islam of Iran?!?

Does Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu begin to comprehend how completely idiotic this comparison sounds, for anyone with two brain cells to rub together?!?

And as I mentioned in a previous post yesterday, from the Israeli government's perspective, it is the US government which must, with its blood and money, achieve Israel's regional geopolitical objectives, and that includes "neutralising" Iran for it.

But between Iran's robust self-defense posture and capabilities, and the reality that if attacked militarily, Russia will come to its aid, this Israeli demand to the US may be too great a chasm to cross, at least for the moment.

“Making America Great Again” by Reducing the World to Ashes?

The greatest threat to humanity is nuclear war.

While public opinion is largely misinformed, US “decision-makers” including president Trump are also unaware and misinformed as to the consequences of their actions. FLASHBACK - How Israel Swindled Its Way to an Atomic Bomb

There’s a great deal of talk about “weapons of mass destruction” proliferating across the Middle East. The mainstream media has sounded the alarm about Iran’s nuclear weapons program since the 1980s (and yet no Iranian bomb has appeared). The supposed purpose of the Iraq War was to eliminate the nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons programs that Iraq was falsely alleged to have had. To keep their rivals from developing a bomb, Israel attacked nuclear facilities in Iraq in 1981 and in Syria in 2007. To paraphrase Jean-Paul Sartre, Israel is sick with fear, they are afraid of the shadow of their own stolen bomb. How they stole the atomic bomb is detailed in Roger J. Mattson’s 2016 book, Stealing the Atom Bomb: How Denial and Deception Armed Israel.

Satellite Images Suggest North Korea May Have Resumed Nuclear Test Preparations

Satellite images of the Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site from April 19 indicate that North Korea may have resumed preparations for a possible imminent nuclear test.

According to 38 North, a North Korea analysis program at the Johns Hopkins University, probable trailers have been spotted near the North Portal, the tunnel that North Korea appears to have been preparing for a nuclear test. While no recent dumping is observed, there are at least five mining carts along the tracks leading to the spoil pile and one probable small equipment trailer adjacent to the support building. A net canopy remains in place, presumably concealing equipment, and the pumping of water out of the tunnel to maintain an environment optimal for instrumentation and stemming seems to have ceased.

Trump admin. wants to resume munitions sale to Saudis: Officials

The Donald Trump administration considers resuming sales of precision-guided munitions to Saudi Arabia as part of additional military and intelligence assistance to the kingdom’s bloody intervention in Yemen.

Officials said Washington, in return, wants new commitments from Riyadh to minimize civilian casualties in Yemen.

"We want the Saudis to show that they are committed to use these things properly," a US official told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

A second official, however, suggested that the request for additional safeguards was just a formality. "This is an unconditional sale. There are no conditions attached. The decision has been made to let the sale go through."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The hypocrisy in DC just sickens me, and the degree to which the Trump administration is just happily on board to being complicit to Saudi war crimes in Yemen, does not bode well for peace in the Middle East at all.

These Saudi strikes have murdered women and children.

Images: dead and wounded Yemeni children from Saudi airstrikes

The Saudis have blockaded Yemeni ports, which means no food aid can get in, and children are literally dying from malnutrition:

Images: Yemeni children starving to death from malnutrition due to Saudi port blockades

And the Saudis are using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen, leading to a massive spike in cancers, birth defects, and still births.

Severe birth defects in Yemen, due to Saudi troops using depleted uranium weapons

I will tell you right now, poisoning a child in the womb with depleted uranium weapons, is one of the most hideously cruel and insanely barbaric examples of outright, despicable child abuse I can imagine; and yet, obviously, the House of Saud; the Saudi Military, and the US military are perfectly comfortable doing this in Yemen.

What's Behind US, EU's Reluctance to Investigate Idlib Chemical Incident

It is hardly surprising that the US and EU policymakers turn a deaf ear to Russia and Damascus's plea to conduct a scrupulous investigation into the suspected use of the chemical weapons in Khan Shaykhun, Russian political analyst Stanislav Tarasov told Radio Sputnik, explaining why the West is uninterested in carrying out such an inquiry.

While American and European politicians remain surprisingly reluctant to the idea to investigate the suspected chemical attack in Khan Shaykhun, political analyst, and head of the Middle East-Caucasus think-tank Stanislav Tarasov suggests that "the West" is by no means interested in conducting such an inquiry.
Speaking to Sputnik on Thursday Syrian President Bashar al-Assad emphasized that Western countries are deliberately blocking attempts to investigate the Idlib chemical incident.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unfortunately, Al Assad is absolutely bang spot-on with his analysis.

China Is Building The World's Largest Nuclear Submarine Facility

Perhaps it is time to shift attention away from the "rally around the flag" diversion that is North Korea and pay some attention to China, which delighted by the ongoing geopolitical distractions is currently building the world's largest submarine facility, which will be able to produce as many as four ultramodern nuclear submarines at a time.

Starting later this year, China's new submarine factory on the Yellow Sea will churn out nuclear-powered attack submarines (or SSNs) ensuring that the sub program of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) will soon be a deadly global force. Once fully operational, the assembly line will enable China to at least match USN SSN production.

When this enclosed submarine factory begins operation later this year, the BSHIC will be able to quickly build nuclear submarines.

Webmaster's Commentary:

China's leadership fully understands what the US government is prepared to do to destroy the rise of the yuan in international trading; it is simply preparing for this eventuality.

F-18 Fighter Jet From Carl Vinson Carrier Crashes Off The Philippines

With the USS Carl Vinson finally on its way to North Korea after some initial "miscommunications" between the White House and the Pentagon, on Friday the aircraft carrier suffered another embarrassing moment when a F-18 pilot was forced to eject during an attempted landing on the deck of the Vinson in the Celebes Sea, south of the Philippines, the US Navy said in a statement. The pilot was recovered safely.

OPERATION GOTHAM SHIELD: U.S. GOV’T TO “SIMULATE NUKE BLAST OVER MANHATTAN” AS ACTUAL WAR NEARS

A general alert is out for something major in the near or immediate future. Hopefully, it is just another false alarm, instead of another false flag. Either way, and danger is at hand.

Given all that is going on in the world, it is downright eerie to discover that the federal government is once again staging mock disasters that draw disturbing parallels with current world events.
In just a few days, during April 24-26th, Operation Gotham Shield will commence.

It is a tabletop, joint agency exercise involving FEMA, Homeland Security and a myriad of law enforcement and military agencies. WMD, chemical and biological units will all be on hand as a response is tested for a “simulated” nuclear detonation over the United States’ foremost urban center, in the iconic and densely populated island of Manhattan and nearby shores of New Jersey.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This exercise will run from next Monday through Wednesday.

I don't know about you, but the hair on the back of my neck is very nervously break-dancing in a completely uncoordinated manner, upon hearing of this exercise.

If it turns out to be a real "false flag" event, who is the US government going to blame?!?

Russia?!? North Korea?!? Iran?!?

All of the above, with the accusation that they collectively, are in possession of a death star?!?

Color me very nervous for the start of this next week.

Trump: Iran Violating ‘Spirit’ of Nuclear Deal

With the rest of the administration continuing to play up US hostility toward Iran in the wake of the admission that Iran is fully complying with the P5+1 nuclear deal, President Trump today accused Iran of “violating the spirit of the deal.”

President Trump offered no details on exactly what he was referring to, though the allegation is patently false at any rate, with Iran having no nuclear weapons program in the first place, and agreeing to drastically limit its civilian program in return for sanctions relief.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, what does this accusation this even mean, in light of the fact that the IAEA has consistently reported that Iran is in complete compliance with the terms and conditions of the P5 +1 Agreement?!?

South Korea on heightened alert as North readies for army anniversary

South Korea said on Friday it was on heightened alert ahead of another important anniversary in North Korea, with a large concentration of military hardware amassed on both sides of the border amid concerns about a new nuclear test by Pyongyang.

North Korea said late on Friday the state of affairs on the Korean peninsula was "extremely perilous" because of "madcap American nuclear war manoeuvres aimed at trampling on our sovereignty and right to survival."

U.S. officials said there was a higher-than-usual level of activity by Chinese bombers, signalling a possible heightened state of readiness by reclusive North Korea's sole major ally, although the officials played down concern and left open a range of possible reasons. Beijing denied its aircraft were on an increased level of alert.

In Russia, the RIA news agency said a Kremlin spokesman declined to comment on media reports Russia was moving military hardware and troops towards the border with North Korea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The sense I have is that US military action against North Korea is eminent.

We are just two and a half weeks away from the 9 May elections in South Korea, and the US military sees its window of opportunity for a military strike against North Korea as narrowing greatly, if the candidate who wins the South Korean election is a proponent of the "sunshine policy", which advocates engagement and trade with North Korea.

After that, the only US military option is a massive false flag, and I am quite certain that those scenarios have already been planned for, and signed off on, by President Trump.

Trump’s missile attack on Syria was justified with fake intelligence: experts

On April 7, President Trump committed his first “act of war,” attacking Syria with missiles in response to what he said was a poison gas attack by the Syrian government that killed dozens. But the White House’s subsequent intelligence report offering its proof of Syria’s role was “false” and “fraudulent,” suggesting a “coverup” by a president acting without any intelligence and intentionally lying to the public.

These are the characterizations of two longtime experts in war studies and missile systems, which—along with coordinated comments by Vice President Mike Pence in South Korea and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Russia that America’s “strategic patience” is ending—suggest Trump may be seeking a war of choice, even if it involves fabricated intelligence.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why am I not surprised here?!?

State Dept Tries to Torpedo Nuclear Deal, Admits Iran Complying

While the US State Department was obliged to admit that Iran remains in full compliance with the P5+1 nuclear deal in a report to Congress, they are clearly not happy about that fact, and with President Trump openly looking to “renegotiate” the deal, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson attacked the pact in general.

Indeed, Tillerson’s comments gave the appearance he didn’t know about the compliance, even though he was the one who signed the letter in the first place, as he attacked the P5+1 deal as a failure and accused Iran of “unchecked” nuclear ambitions posing a grave risk to the world.

Iran was never particularly close to nuclear weapons, and its leadership has repeatedly ruled out developing them. The P5+1 deal allows Iran an extremely limited civilian nuclear program, and since its implementation both the US and IAEA have repeatedly affirmed Iranian compliance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Secretary of State Tillerson, a word, please.

You are developing an international reputation for making accusations against foreign countries, yet not providing a shred of evidence to back up your claims.

It is not only countries like Russia and China which are skeptical about the US government's geopolitical intentions; it is also the American people who are beginning to wonder what the ultimate agendas are here, which in the case of Iran, appears to be (as it is with Syria and North Korea), regime change, and by any means necessary.

And yes, we all know Israel and Saudi Arabia would just love that; but at what cost in blood and money to the American people?!?

We have, thank you very much, been lied to quite enough; whatever international steps you take henceforward, should be in the defense of We the People; not in the defense of foreign governments who do not care about what wars against these countries will cost us here at home.

Experts: Costly US Missile Defense System Probably Doesn’t Work

The political decision of whether or not the US is going to attack North Korea rests at least in part on the effectiveness of the $40 billion US missile defense system, and its ability to shoot down retaliatory strikes from North Korea. While the Pentagon has insisted they have 100% confidence they can do so, experts are warning the system probably doesn’t work.

Indeed, the Union of Concerned Scientists has even issued a statement warning that Pentagon confidence is not only unwarranted from the data, but may be misinforming politicians making decisions on starting a war on the basis of their defensive capabilities.

The experts warn that there has been very limited testing of the missile defense system, and even in those tests, which are in ideal situations and not real world conflicts, the system has only succeeded three times out of nine. In a real world scenario, it would likely be even less dependable.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Only 3 successes and 9 fails, under perfectly controlled conditions?!?

That's a 40 billion dollar epic fail, in my world.

And who is making those weapons?!? Should they not be fined, and doing hard jail time, for continuing to make something which obviously doesn't work, yet assuring politicians and the American public that they will work, when it's crunch time for them to succeed, and they can't?!?

This is a completely insane bet, to attempt to use them against North Korean missiles.

Mr. President, a word please.

The only sane way forward here is to encourage China to get North Korea back to the negotiating table, and hammer out a true peace treaty with which to replace the armistice, with the quid quo pro being that North Korea stops its nuclear weapons development program.

You're welcome, sir!!

U.S. Bombed a Mosque in Syria, Killing Dozens of Civilians, Investigators Conclude

As my colleague Alex Emmons reported last month, Syrian activists and first responders accused the United States of killing dozens of civilians in an airstrike that mistakenly targeted a mosque in the rebel-held village of al-Jinah on the evening of March 16.

Confronted with these claims, a Pentagon spokesman, Navy Captain Jeff Davis, told The Intercept that they were mistaken. “The area was extensively surveilled prior to the strike in order to minimize civilian casualties,” Davis said. “We deliberately did not target the mosque.”

As evidence, Davis provided an aerial photograph of the building destroyed in the attack, identified by U.S. officials as a “partially constructed community meeting hall.”

“The mosque in the left edge of the photo was not targeted,” Davis stressed in a briefing for reporters the next day. “Military officials believe dozens of al-Qaida terrorist leaders were killed in the strike.”

Oliver Stone had reserved some hope for Donald Trump, as many did.

US military considers shooting down North Korea missile tests, sources say

The US military is considering shooting down North Korean missile tests as a show of strength to Pyongyang, two sources briefed on the planning have told the Guardian.

Amid heightened tensions over North Korea’s nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs, the Pentagon is looking for ways short of war to pressure the country into denuclearization, particularly if Pyongyang goes forward with a sixth nuclear test.

North Korea warns 'thermonuclear war could break out at any moment'
The defense secretary, James Mattis, has briefed Congress on the option, but the military has not yet decided to intercept a test missile.

One US official said the prospective shoot-down strategy would be aimed at occurring after a nuclear test, with the objective being to signal Pyongyang that the US can impose military consequences for a step Donald Trump has described as “unacceptable”.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note that this article is not sourced. And in my world, if something is not sourced, or attributable to someone, it cannot operate in the sphere of true, honest reporting.

And I hope to heck this is not really a scenario on the table; such an act by the US military against a North Korean missile test, would rightly be perceived by the North Korean government as an act of war.

Military Adventurism: The Problem is Washington, Not North Korea

Washington has never made any effort to conceal its contempt for North Korea. In the 64 years since the war ended, the US has done everything in its power to punish, humiliate and inflict pain on the Communist country. Washington has subjected the DPRK to starvation, prevented its government from accessing foreign capital and markets, strangled its economy with crippling economic sanctions, and installed lethal missile systems and military bases on their doorstep.

Negotiations aren’t possible because Washington refuses to sit down with a country which it sees as its inferior. Instead, the US has strong-armed China to do its bidding by using their diplomats as interlocutors who are expected to convey Washington’s ultimatums as threateningly as possible. The hope, of course, is that Pyongyang will cave in to Uncle Sam’s bullying and do what they are told.

Webmaster's Commentary:

it is entirely correct that North Korea has developed its nuclear weapons program as a deterrent to a potential pre-emptive US strike against it.

I seriously doubt that North Korea would ever fire the first volley at either South Korea, or American assets nearby; but I do think that if the US government and military want this war, and want it quickly, they will create some kind of "false flag" event, and blame it on North Korea.

Right now, the US government is working against a "hard deadline" of 9 May, which is when the next South Korean election will be held, and if the candidate who wins favors the "sunshine policy" toward North Korea (social/economic engagement, no military hostility against it), President Trump will have "lost the window" for a strike against North Korea for some time.

Of course, I would be reasonably certain that the American Deep State is lining the pockets of candidates who have a more "martial" approach to the "problem" of North Korea; but if that doesn't work, the US government may well be thinking about creating that above-referenced false flag.

Contractor Whose Business Model Is Price Gouging the Pentagon Has Powerful Wall St. Backers

ON MARCH 21, first-term Congressman Ro Khanna sent a letter asking the Pentagon’s inspector general to investigate TransDigm, an aerospace supplier he accused of cornering the market on proprietary parts for military aircraft and then jacking up the prices.

The California Democrat charged that TransDigm operates as a “hidden monopolist,” to “enrich a few individual financiers who stand to benefit at the expense of our troops and weapons systems.”

The letter rebounded across Washington and Wall Street. TransDigm stock dropped over 10 percent in two days. The business press highlighted the story; The Huffington Post called TransDigm “The Martin Shkreli of defense contracting.”

In a nation that once saw a senator become president in part because of his investigation of war profiteering — and where memories of the Pentagon buying $640 toilet seats still linger — the story of a greedy corporation ripping off the military seemed to have legs.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This story demonstrates precisely what is wrong with the culture of corporate weapons manufacturers, and must be stopped; it is putting our military at high risk, because unlike the US, Russia and China are getting value for their military spending, and not getting gouged.

I would strongly suggest that with any future defense contracts, that they are worded in such a way that the presidents of those companies which sign the contracts must become personally liable when these items are delivered so late as to be obsolete; do not work at all as advertise;, or are massively over budget.

And by personal liability, I mean, jail time, and not in a "Club Fed"; that SHOULD "cure the problem."

The American Government’s Secret Plan for Surviving the End of the World

Among the greatest foreign-policy dilemmas faced by former President Jimmy Carter is one that has never been publicly aired but is gaining new relevance. It concerns nuclear war, and how the U.S. government would survive it. Carter’s decisions remain classified, but documents newly declassified by the CIA, along with the archives at several presidential libraries, provide a new window into the White House’s preparations for an imminent apocalypse.

Today, such an apocalypse could be triggered by any number of nuclear-armed states, including North Korea and Pakistan. During Carter’s presidency, such anxieties were focused squarely on the Soviet Union. It was during that period that military planners in both the Soviet Union and United States began to grapple with what until then had been an unthinkable heresy: abandoning the Mutually Assured Destruction catechism that had governed global order since the 1950s and preparing for surviving an all-out nuclear war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember; in the case of an all-out nuclear war, those in the bowels of power in DC have their bunkers, and all the amenities necessary to survive in style; most of We the People do not.

Therefore, I would like to politely suggest that our government, our military, and the Trump Administration, find other ways of resolving its geopolitical issues with other countries through moral, hard-won, intelligent negotiations, rather than war.

What Would Korean War II Look Like?

The US could literally blow North Korea off the map using tactical nuclear weapons based in Japan, South Korea and at sea with the 7th Fleet. Or delivered by B-52 and B-1 bombers and cruise missiles. But this would cause clouds of lethal radiation and radioactive dust to blanket Japan, South Korea and heavily industrialized northeast China, including the capital, Beijing.

China would be expected to threaten retaliation against the United States, Japan and South Korea to deter a nuclear war in next door Korea. At the same time, if heavily attacked, a fight-to-the-end North Korea may fire off a number of nuclear-armed medium-range missiles at Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa and South Korea. These missiles are hidden in caves in the mountains on wheeled transporters and hard to identify and knock out.

This is a huge risk. Such a nuclear exchange would expose about a third of the world’s economy to nuclear contamination, not to mention spreading nuclear winter around the globe.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please: bellicose hubris, and subsequent threats, will not work here.

And the price of such a war on the Korean Peninsula, in blood, money, and nuclear contamination, will be both unimaginable...and irreversible.

What needs to happen, is for China to get North Korea back on board with a summit to hammer out a true peace deal to replace the armistice, with the quid pro quo being no US invasion of North Korea, and North Korea ending its nuclear weapons program in return.

Such a plan is simple, elegant, and logical, and precludes the need for any military action against North Korea.

You're welcome, Mr. President!! :-)

Why The Donald Should Cool It On North Korea – The Fat Boy Can’t Even Deliver His ‘Little Boy’

The realized truth of modern history is crystal clear. Washington had no business intervening in a quarrel between two no-count wanna be dictators (Syngman Rhee and Kim il Sung) on the Korean peninsula in June 1950, and surely has no business still stationing 29,000 American soldiers there 67 years latter.

Yet owing to the institutionalized albatross of that mis-vectored history, the world is now much closer to the brink of nuclear war than at any time since the dark days of the early cold war. And the Donald has become just the latest political tourist in the Oval Office to succumb to the Deep State’s false, self-serving narrative about why the American imperium remains decamped on the 38th parallel.

Afghan Ex-President Karzai: Trump Committed an Atrocity With Massive Bombing

While the current Afghan government tries to defend the US use of the MOAB “Mother of All Bombs” last week against the Nangarhar Province, former President Hamid Karzai was extremely critical of the action, calling it an “immense atrocity” against fellow human beings.

Karzai complained that the current government was not offering enough comment when the US commits large strikes, saying the use of the largest non-nuclear bomb in history amounted both to a violation of Afghan sovereignty, and inherent disrespect to Afghanistan’s soil and environment.

The MOAB strike was dropped in the Achin District of Nangarhar, above what the US claimed was a substantial tunnel network used by ISIS. Though there is no sign of damage done to the tunnels, and MOAB is not intended to be a penetration bomb, President Trump has heralded it as a “successful event.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hamid Karzai is absolutely correct in his assessment here.

And I have to ask why the general who ordered this strike believed it was the right weapon to use at this time, and what the true objective really was.

Japan May Consider Deploying Troops in Case of DPRK Missile Fall in Its Waters

Japanese government is reportedly considering the possibility of deploying the Self-Defense Forces in case of a fall of a North Korean missile in the country's territorial waters.

For the first time the Japanese government is considering the possibility of deploying the Self-Defense Forces in case of a fall of a North Korean missile in the country's territorial waters, local media reported on Tuesday.
The laws adopted on March 29, 2016, divided security threats into three categories: the possibility of military aggression, obvious threat of military aggression and military aggression.

The government wants to recognize fall of a foreign missile in its territorial waters as an obvious threat of military aggression, which allows deployment of troops, the Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This posture is a huge escalation for the Japanese government, and I hope to heck that the US, Japan, and South Korea are coordinating on these moves, because any further threat against North Korea could, potentially, put Kim Jung Un into another tailspin, where he orders the launching of more missiles, some of which may probably wind up in the Sea of Japan.

Neocons Have a Long List of Endless-War Ideas for Donald Trump to Implement

After slapping Donald Trump around for several months to make him surrender his hopes for a more cooperative relationship with Russia, the neocons and their liberal-interventionist allies are now telling the battered president what he must do next: escalate war in the Middle East and ratchet up tensions with nuclear-armed Russia.

Star neocon Robert Kagan spelled out Trump’s future assignments in a column on April 9 in The Washington Post, starting out by patting the chastened president on the head for his decision to launch 59 Tomahawk missiles at an airstrip in Syria supposedly in retaliation for a chemical weapons attack blamed on the Syrian government (although no serious investigation was even conducted).

N. Korean official: Ready for war if Trump wants it
The state House Public Safety Committee unanimously passed a resolution Thursday.

Committee Vice Chairman Matt LoPresti says he's not trying to spread fear. But he wants the public to know the government is taking steps to protect them in the worst case scenario.

He's aiming to get state funding to re-equip Cold War-era fallout shelters.

The resolution that moved forward Thursday said that in 1981, Oahu had hundreds of fallout shelters -- "many stocked with medical kits, food, and sanitary kits." But in later years, funding dried up, and stocks were thrown out.

Hawaii Emergency Management Agency Executive Officer Toby Clairmont showed lawmakers a response plan from 1985 that hasn't been updated since.

North Korea will continue to test missiles despite international condemnation and increasing military tensions with the US, a senior official has told the BBC in Pyongyang.

"We'll be conducting more missile tests on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis," Vice Foreign Minister Han Song-Ryol told the BBC's John Sudworth.
He said that an "all out war" would result if the US took military action.
Earlier, US Vice-President Mike Pence warned North Korea not to test the US.
He said his country's "era of strategic patience" with North Korea was over.
Mr Pence arrived in Seoul on Sunday hours after North Korea carried out a failed missile launch.

Tensions have been escalating on the peninsula, with heated rhetoric from both North Korea and the US.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF the translation here is correct (and remember when Former Iranian Prime Minister Ahmadinejad was accused of saying something he really didn't say?!?
Israel should be wiped off the map), we are apt to witness a quick military response from the US and South Korea.

America Should Start Exploring How to End All the Wars It's Started

War-whoops and loud applause from foreign policy establishments and their media supporters have greeted President Trump’s missile strike in Syria, the dropping of the world’s largest non-nuclear bomb on Afghanistan and the dispatch of a naval task force in the direction of North Korea.

This spurt in belligerence over the last week has as much to do with domestic American politics as any fundamental new development in the rest of the world. Trump needed to defuse the accusation that he was too close to President Putin and too tolerant of a Russian ally like Bashar al-Assad. The resort to military action was largely in keeping with the old Pentagon saying that “defence policy ends at the water’s edge”, meaning that it is politics inside, not outside the US, which is the real decision-maker.

Mike Pence Puts North Korea On Notice For Missile, Nuclear Tests

“North Korea would do well not to test [President Trump’s] resolve or the strength of the armed forces of the United States in this region.”

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence put North Korea on notice on Monday, warning that recent U.S. strikes in Syria and Afghanistan showed that the resolve of President Donald Trump should not be tested.

Pence and South Korean acting president Hwang Kyo-ahn, speaking a day after a failed missile test by the North and two days after a huge display of missiles in Pyongyang, also said they would strengthen anti-North Korea defenses by moving ahead with the early deployment of the THAAD missile-defense system.

Pence is on the first stop of a four-nation Asia tour intended to show America’s allies, and remind its adversaries, that the Trump administration was not turning its back on the increasingly volatile region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Pence is characterising President Trump's "strength and resolve" by his actions of bombing Syria for something the Syrian government most likely didn't do, and using a MOAB in Afghanistan "because he could".

Could someone please tell me, how in the name of heaven, these actions translated into "strength and resolve", where there was absolutely no restraint, or honest fact-finding going on in Trump's White House, before these actions were taken?!?

Wash. Post Doesn’t Disclose Writer Supporting Syria Strike Is A Lobbyist For Tomahawk Missile Manufacturer

The Washington Post is allowing writer Ed Rogers to push for and praise military action against Syria without disclosing that he’s a lobbyist for defense contractor Raytheon, which makes the Tomahawk missiles used in the recent strike.

Rogers is a contributor to The Washington Post’s PostPartisan blog, where he wrote an April 8 piece praising President Donald Trump for authorizing the launch of 59 Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian airbase that reportedly housed warplanes that carried out chemical attacks against civilians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More presstitutes, more warmongering.

Now, when you see the names, just disregard the articles; these people are simply doing what they are paid to do; encourage military means of conflict resolution rather than hard-won, common-sense, moral negotiations.

How to bring down the elephant in the room

The reason why I decided to tackle this issue today is that the forces who broke Trump in less than a month are also the very same forces who have forced him into a political 180: the Neocons and the US deep state. However, I think that these two concepts can be fused into on I would call the “Ziocons”: basically Zionists plus some rabid Anglo imperialists à la Cheney or McCain. These are the folks who control the US corporate media, Hollywood, Congress, most of academia, etc. These are the folks who organized a ferocious assault on the “nationalist” or “patriotic” wing of Trump supporters and ousted Flynn and Bannon and these are the folks who basically staged a color revolution against Trump. There is some pretty good evidence that the person in charge of this quiet coup is Jared Kushner, a rabid Zionist. Maybe. Maybe not.

Cui bono? Who launched the chemical attack in Syria’s Idlib?

Uri Avnery explains why logic dictates that it is the “half a dozen Syrian sects and militias who are fighting against Assad and against each other”, and not the Assad regime, that are responsible for the chemical attack in Syria’s Idlib. >>

A Government of Morons

Led by a man who can barely read.
Paul Craig Roberts

It has become embarrassing to be an American. Our country has had four war criminal presidents in succession.

Violence is America. America is violence. The moronic liberals blame it on gun owners, but it is always the government that is the source of violence. That is the reason our Founding Fathers gave us the Second Amendment. It is not gun owners who have destroyed in whole or part eight countries. It is the armed-at-taxpayer-expense US government that commits the violence.

America’s lust for violence is now bringing the Washington morons up against people who can commit violence back: the Russians and Chinese, Iran and North Korea.

Pyongyang warns of retaliation against US ‘military hysteria’

North Korea told the United States on Saturday to end its “military hysteria” or face retaliation as the reclusive state marked the 105th birth anniversary of its founding father with mass military parades in the capital Pyongyang.

The warning came as a US aircraft carrier and destroyers steamed into waters off the Korean Peninsular.

The arrival follows what is perceived as a shift in US military policy under President Donald Trump. Last week, the US attacked a Syrian airfield for the first time with cruise missiles and this week dropped the world’s largest non-nuclear bomb on Afghanistan. Another first.

Does this shift include North Korea is the question as tensions on the Korean peninsula have escalated over Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile testing program in violation of UN Security Council resolutions. North Korea is reportedly building an intercontinental ballistic missile that could strike the United States.

Webmaster's Commentary:

All the pieces appear to be well in place; it is just a matter of time before something happens here, most likely instigated by the US military.

US government prepared to launch a pre-emptive attack against North Korea before its nuclear bomb test, 14 April, 2017

So far, as nearly as anyone can discern, that test hasn't happened yet.

However, the US government loves to initiate false flags, to get its geopolitical agendas moving.

Were I a betting woman, I would not bet against a false flag here, to be blamed on North Korea, to kick things off in the next week or so.

US SUCCESSFULLY TESTS NEW NUCLEAR GRAVITY BOMB

The B61-12 is a modernized version of the B61 gravity bomb, the mainstay of the Air Force’s nuclear arsenal and one of the legs of the so-called nuclear triad, along with the intercontinental ballistic missiles deployed from either ground-based silos or oceangoing submarines.

President Donald Trump has endorsed an ambitious – and expensive – plan to modernize the US nuclear triad, begun under his predecessor. The B61-12 is intended to consolidate and replace all the B61 variants currently in service.

Three successful development flight tests of the B61-12 were conducted in 2015. The March test was the first in a series scheduled to span the next three years, with the final design review due in September 2018 and the first production unit scheduled for completion by March 2020.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I wish to hell that this government would be testing the outcomes of moral, hard-won negotiations, rather than gravity bomb effectiveness!

North Korea Foreign Minister: US Becoming More Aggressive And “Making Problems”

The North Korean Foreign Minister in the video below explains how the US continues to become more aggressive toward North Korea. He explains that it is the US that creates the problems not North Korea. We all know North Korea is no saint nation, but with our own eyes we see a US carrier strike group just off their waters and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson saying, “the military option is on the table”.

The article goes on to explain how Kim Jung-un of North Korea has threatened the US. The interesting part here is there are no audio or video clips on Kim saying anything nor have I heard anything to date. If he did say something like that it would not surprise me. The US has a carrier strike force off his waters.

Donald Trump Surrenders to the War Party

It took less than three months for the War Party to force Donald Trump to abandon whatever notions he might have had about defusing tensions with Russia and disentangling the U.S. from its alliance with Islamic jihadist terror. Last week’s bombing of a Syrian airbase has put back on track the general U.S. military offensive that was begun with President Obama’s 2011 regime change operation against Libya, drastically increasing the odds that humanity will perish in nuclear winter rather than be roasted into extinction from global warming.
