'Time not right to challenge Hizballah,' says Sisi as Riyadh accuses Lebanon of declaring war

Egypt's president has urged for calm in the region as tensions between Saudi Arabia and Iran flare, saying it is not the right time to challenge Lebanese Shia group Hizballah.

Abdel Fattah al-Sisi made the appeal in an interview with CNBC over the weekend that aired on Tuesday morning.

"The stability of the region is very important and we all have to protect it... I am talking to all the parties in the region to preserve it," Sisi said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What al-Sisi is saying is that Egypt will not take part in any war between Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.

McCain Says “We Must Fight Crackpot Conspiracy Theories” Despite Promoting The Biggest One: A New World Order

By Aaron Kesel

Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) urged fighting “crackpot conspiracy theories” during a speech on Monday night despite for years being one of those people who pushes one of those theories: the creation of a world government, or a New World Order.

“We have to fight against propaganda and crackpot conspiracy theories. We have to fight isolationism, protectionism and nativism. We have to defeat those who would worsen our divisions,” McCain said at the Brigade of Midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., The Hill reported...

El-Sisi: Maintaining Syria’s unity is important

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi stressed the importance of preserving Syria’s unity and moving towards a political solution to the crisis in it, reiterating his country’s position that the Syrian people are the ones who decide the future of their own country. In a television interview during his current visit to France, el-Sisi said that Egypt always has a consistent view and a firm policy towards countries that are in a state of disturbance, including Syria. It is very important to preserve the unity of countries so that things in the region do not worsen, that is, preserving the national state and the political solution to crises, he added. The Egyptian President pointed out that the national army in countries facing great challenges of instability should be responsible for preserving the state, confronting terrorism and extremism, and establishing security and stability, stressing that this is the only way to end crises facing the region.

Egypt is in Turmoil - So Why Are Egyptians Begging Sisi to Stand for Reelection?

Despite economic hardship, some Egyptians are asking President Sisi to stand for reelection
His popularity had dipped due to soaring consumer prices
However thousands have already signed up to the "To Build It" campaign
Still, opposition to his candidature remains fierce among others

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has guided his nation into deep financial crisis, overseen the unpopular handover of two Red Sea islands and imprisoned thousands without trial.

The military general initially came to power in a coup overthrowing democratically elected Mohamed Morsi, with his presidency later confirmed in a landslide 2014 vote. Since then, dramatic rises in food and fuel costs, along with his regime's severe human rights abuses, have seen public discontent rise.

Despite all of this, some Egyptians just cannot get enough of their president.

A campaign to push Sisi to stand for reelection in the anticipated 2018 presidential elections has taken off online.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder if this "alleged support" for this military dictator is genuine... or fabricated by a clever PR machine, to make it appear as though there is real support for him.

But evidenced by the remarks made by President Trump during Al-Sisi's meeting at the White House on 21 September of this year, the Al-Sisi regime has the full support of Trump's administration.

Remarks by President Trump and Egyptian President Al-Sisi at a September bilateral meeting

Apparently for President Trump, trade trumps human rights every time; his relatively new BFFs in the Middle East, Netanyahu and Prince Salman, echoe that choice quite loudly.

Egypt dismisses Washington Post report on North Korean shipment

Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Ministry dismissed on Tuesday article published by International media outlet Washington Post regarding the North Korean shipment stopped at Suez Canal last August.

The shipment that included huge number of rockets was noticed by United States (US) intelligence, when arrived to Suez Canal in August coming from North Korea in July 2016. The Egyptian authorities stopped and raided the shipment.

In response to the claims reported in the report published on Saturday that the shipment was coming to Egyptian officials, spokesperson of ministry Ahmed Abu Zaid, said in press statement to Agence France-Presse (AFP), that the report “included some aspects of the author’s imagination, along with some correct information”.

He also said that the report aimed at implying that, “Egypt is not committed to implement of resolutions of United Nation Security Council regarding North Korea”.

HRW: Egypt torture likely 'crime against humanity'

Human Rights Watch in a report released on Wednesday accused Egyptian security services of widespread torture of detainees in a probable "crime against humanity."

The New York-based rights group said security services in the North African country used torture as a "systematic practice" against suspected opponents of the government.

Rights groups have regularly accused Egyptian security services of practising torture, something the interior ministry has denied.

The government has acknowledged there have been "individual" cases of torture, and several policemen have been tried and sentenced for violent deaths in detention in recent years.

"Human Rights Watch believes the torture epidemic in Egypt likely constitutes a crime against humanity, due to its widespread and systematic practice across Egypt," the group said in the report.

It said it had interviewed 19 former detainees who detailed the methods of torture, which include electrocution.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How reminiscent of Americans torturing Iraqis at Abu Ghraib!!

I just have to wonder; where did the Egyptian military learn about these techniques of torture, which the US government has sanctioned, and used, or outsourced the use of, against prisoners of war?!?

Egyptian Army Eliminates Large Number of ISIL Terrorists in Sinai

The Egyptian Army continued their field operations in the Sinai Peninsula, targeting ISIL’s positions in the Northern part of this region. Egyptian units from the 2nd Army carried out several raids, destroying a number of ISIL’s dens in the Northern part of the Sinai Peninsula, Al Masdar reported. These prevalent field operations conducted by the Egyptian Army are meant to eliminate the last remnants of the ISIL that are still present in the Sinai. The attack by Egyptian forces on ISIL militants in Sinai comes after earlier this month the terror grouo claimed responsibility for an attack on a patrol car that killed four Egyptian policemen in North Sinai. Security forces in Egypt frequently come under attacks by militants. The violence has been concentrated in the Sinai Peninsula, where Egypt is fighting an insurgency, but has also expanded to hit Egypt's Coptic Christians, the country's largest minority.

Why Does US Military Have Records On 2013 Egyptian Military Coup?

Egyptian army chief, General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, led a coup against Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in 2013. The Egyptian constitution was subsequently suspended. When it happened, President Barack Obama avoided the use of the word “coup” to describe what unfolded. This was to ensure U.S. military aid continued to flow to the country. And, as The Guardian noted, “Ties between the Pentagon and the Egyptian military [were] already close.”

Ramses II was King Solomon

Very few equivalences in ancient times are so certain as the equivalence of Ramses II with King Solomon. Indeed, no mainstream scholar has been able to present even the most minimal requisite evidence necessary to rebut my challenge to current chronology as posted at https://listhost.uchicago.edu/pipermail/ane/2003-July/009941.html

Egyptologists, Oriental and Biblical scholars do not like to be confronted with facts - rather, they continue to build their nice little houses of cards as if facts contrary to their ill-conceived theories and chronologies simply did not exist. The closed-minded majority of Egyptologists seem to have a limited capacity for critical thinking.

Just how long did Ramses reign? They assume it is 67 years of sole regency, but the evidence is against them.

It is quite clear that Ramses did not rule alone for 67 years but like Solomon only ruled 40 years as a sole regent.

The US Empire, the CIA, and the NGOs

The CIA recruited the Muslim Brotherhood to fight a proxy war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, which led to the withdrawal of the Soviets from the Hindu Kush. Since then, the CIA used the mercenaries to fight more proxy wars in the Balkans, Chechnya, and Azerbaijan. Due to the wars of aggression against Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen the US and its vassal states created sectarian violence that led to civil wars. Right now, the CIA and the Muslim Brotherhood are present in the form of ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

'But sir, it’s an American ship.' 'Never mind, hit her!' When Israel attacked USS Liberty

'The Americans have findings that show our pilots were aware the ship was American,' a newly published document by the State Archives says.

Israel apologized and paid compensation to the victims’ families. Israeli and American commissions of inquiry found that the attack was a mistake. But naturally, as often happens in such events, to this day there are some who believe Israel attacked the ship with malicious intent.

A conspiracy? Healthy suspicion? Call it what you will. A new book published in May in the United States (its authors include several survivors of the attack) promises that “the truth is being told as never before and the real story revealed.” The 302 pages of “Remember the Liberty!: Almost Sunk by Treason on the High Seas” include quite a number of documents, testimonies, arguments and information that were gathered in the subsequent 50 years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The attack on the USS Liberty, by the Israeli military was absolutely no mistake, and from what I have read by experts on the matter, the proposal that President Lyndon Johnson may well have been behind the attack, in order to get the US to join the 6 Day War, could potentially be feasible.

And please remember: when the survivors were awarded their medals in a closed, private ceremony, and not by President Johnson, but by the Secretary of the Navy at the Washington Navy Yard.

Egypt refuses usage of military power against Qatar: Former Assistant Foreign Minister

In a step towards resolving the current political crisis between Qatar and other Arab countries, Qatari Foreign Affairs Minister Mohamed Bin Abdel Rahman arrived on Monday in Kuwait to deliver his country’s response on recent reconciliation conditions put forth by the four Arab countries boycotting Qatar.

According to Al-Jazeera, the Qatari Foreign Affairs Minister is acting as mediator to end the recent diplomatic boycott imposed by Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The boycott is due to charges against the Qatari government of sponsoring terrorism and being the main supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood and other opposition groups.

Top Senator Blocks Gulf Arms Sales Over Qatar Crisis

While previous Senate efforts to limit US arms sales to Saudi Arabia over human rights concerns narrowly failed, Senate Foreign Affairs Committee chair Bob Corker (R – TN) has now withheld all consent for US arms sales to not just Saudi Arabia, but to the other Gulf Arab states, citing the ongoing Qatar crisis.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Egypt have all imposed a blockade on Qatar over the past several weeks, and have issued a long list of demands for Qatar to comply with as a condition for lifting it. Sen. Corker warned that this is undermining the ISIS war.

That’s been a concern from the beginning of the crisis, since the largest US military base in the Middle East is in Qatar, and much of the air war in Syria is based out of Qatar. So far,the Pentagon has insisted that hasn’t been impacted, but the longer the situation goes unresolved, the more likely it’s going to be a problem.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I sense that this is just a small hiccup in President Trump's plans to sell billions in weapons to Saudi Arabia, as well as to other Middle Eastern "bastions of democracy" and will be overcome quickly.

How Britain aided Israel’s 1967 war

The Centurion was the main British battle tank for around two decades following the Second World War and Israel had already placed orders for it before Eshkol’s trip.

By July 1965, Britain supplied Israel with more than 180 such tanks. Another 150 were transported between that month and May 1967.

They were not the only weapons that Britain gave Israel. Just one week before Eshkol’s government made a surprise attack against Egypt on 5 June 1967, a ship brimming with machine guns, tank shells and armored vehicles sailed to present-day Israel from the English port of Felixstowe. It was among a series of secret weapons deliveries.

The shock of defeat in 1967

Fifty years ago, we were told – and this was the common belief then – that Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser had received information from the Soviet Union about a planned Israeli aggression on Syria. He reacted by closing the Strait of Tiran and alerting the Egyptian army. US President Lyndon B. Johnson had declared his full support for Israel, and we heard that King Hussein of Jordan had rushed to Cairo to sign a defense pact with the United Arab Republic (the union that had been formed between Syria and Egypt in February 1958, but by then only consisted of Egypt).

FIFTY YEARS LATER, NSA KEEPS DETAILS OF ISRAEL’S USS LIBERTY ATTACK SECRET

On June 8, 1967, an Israeli torpedo tore through the side of the unarmed American naval vessel USS Liberty, approximately a dozen miles off the Sinai coast. The ship, whose crew was under command of the National Security Agency, was intercepting communications at the height of the Six Day War when it came under direct Israeli aerial and naval assault.
Reverberations from the torpedo blast sent crewman Ernie Gallo flying across the radio research room where he was stationed. Gallo, a communications technician aboard the Liberty, found himself and his fellow shipmates in the midst of an attack that would leave 34 Americans dead and 171 wounded.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This was no "mistake" on the part of the Israeli government; they knew, incontrovertibly, that the vessel they attacked was a US Navy vessel, and wanted to blame Egypt for the attack.

Report says Israel planned atomic detonation in Sinai if Six Day War went wrong

One the eve of the Six Day War, with the country surrounded by enemies and unsure of its future, Israel developed a “doomsday” plan to detonate an atomic bomb in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula as a warning to the Arabs, The New York Times reported Saturday.

The report was based on an interview conducted by leading Israeli nuclear scholar Avner Cohen with retired IDF brigadier general Itzhak Yaakov, who reportedly oversaw the plan.

“It’s the last secret of the 1967 war,” Cohen told the paper.

EXODUS DEBUNKED: SLAVE TRADE WAS NOT COMMON IN ANCIENT EGYPT

“Slavery in Egypt is actually one of the biblical archeologists’ biggest disappointments. It is almost common knowledge now amongst Egyptologists that the Pyramids, long thought to have been built by the crack of the whip, were actually built by paid labor“

Webmaster's Commentary:

According to Egyptologists, there was a paid permanent group of skilled craftsmen who built Egypt's monuments. Additional labor was provided by ordinary Egyptians who were told that their volunteer work would allow them to enter the afterlife, much as the later Popes told the Crusaders that killing Muslims would guarantee their entry to heaven.

Egyptian man sentenced to death for raping 20-month-old girl

An Egyptian court has determined the guilt of a man who was accused of raping a 20-month-old girl in March, and sentenced him to death in its final ruling. The case provoked widespread public outrage in Egypt.
The Egyptian criminal court of the Nile Delta province of Dakahlia delivered its initial judgment in early May but later referred it to the highest religious authority, the Grand Mufti, for approval, which is not binding but is a routine procedure for death sentences in Egypt. The final judgment was delivered on Thursday.

The man, 35, was accused of kidnapping a girl, just 20 months old, from her house in the Nile Delta village of Belqas and raping her. The man took the girl to a secluded location, raped her and fled the scene, leaving the toddler in a pool of her own blood, according to the investigators.

Israel provoked the Six-Day War in 1967, and it was not fighting for survival

Finkelstein emphasizes that no genuine academic today, whatever their political orientation, endorses the Mainstream Narrative. He starts by identifying what he has called the “Two Biggest Lies.”

* The truth is that Nasser and the other Arab leaders had absolutely no intention of invading Israel in June 1967.

* And Israel’s existence was never in the slightest doubt, as both Israeli and American leaders knew that Israel could easily win any conflict, even against a coalition of Arab states.

Egypt launches air strikes in Libya in response to attack on Coptic Christians

Egyptian forces on Friday launched air strikes on six jihadist training camps in Libya in retaliation for an attack on Coptic Christians in Egypt earlier in the day in which at least 28 people were killed, many of them children.

In a televised address to Egypt's people, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said: "Before we spoke to you today, we launched a strike against one of the camps" where jihadists train.

"Egypt will not hesitate in striking terror camps anywhere, either inside (the country) or outside it," Sisi added. According to state TV, a total of six targets were hit.

Masked gunmen kill 28 in attack on Christians in Egypt

Gunmen attacked a group of Coptic Christians travelling to a monastery in central Egypt on Friday, killing 28 people and wounding 24, with many children among the victims, Health Ministry officials said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which came on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan. It followed a series of church bombings claimed by Islamic State in a campaign of violence against the Copts.

Islamic State supporters reposted videos from earlier this year urging violence against the Copts in Egypt.

Eyewitnesses said masked men opened fire after stopping the Christians, who were in a bus and other vehicles. Local TV channels showed a bus apparently raked by gunfire and smeared with blood.

Clothes and shoes could be seen lying in and around the bus, while the bodies of some of the victims lay in the sand nearby, covered with black sheets.

Polish tourist's death in Egypt 'may be linked to trafficking'

Officials in Poland say a Polish tourist who died in an Egyptian resort last month may have been a victim of human trafficking and organised crime.

The Polish tourist, named in media reports as Magdalena Zuk, travelled alone to the Red Sea resort of Marsa Alam at the end of April.

Days later, she plunged to her death from a hospital window.

Egyptian security sources and medical staff say the 27-year-old woman took her own life.

There has been speculation the woman was the victim of a sexual assault by hotel staff, but Egyptian security sources have denied that she was drugged and raped.

She was then prevented from traveling and was transported to a private hospital following which she threw herself off the window without letting the guards notice.

White House Meeting With Egypt’s Tyrant Highlights Key Trump Effect: Unmasking U.S. Policy

Krugman believes — or at least wants his Democratic followers to believe — that supporting and praising savage despotism in Egypt is a new development that only happens in “Trump’s America.” The Washington Post’s neoconservative columnist Jackson Diehl this morning encouraged Post readers to believe in the same fairy tale, complaining in his column about the “ugly scene” of a “love-in” between Trump and “the most repressive dictator in Egypt’s modern history.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I thoroughly detest the American Deep State's policy, when it comes to supporting dictators, of "Yeah, he's a thug; but he's OUR thug", when it comes to human rights abuses around the world.

And the late President John Kennedy said it best: "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

It is the kind of foreign policy which ultimately winds up with the people of a country, ultimately, getting fed up with a government which doesn't represent them, represses them, and then there is a revolution, as there was against the Shah in Iran, and Batista in Cuba, and may well be coming to places like Bahrain, (for which President Trump just signed off on a significant US weapons delivery) where the brutal Sunni Al-Khalifa monarchy consistently tortures peaceful Shiite protestors into false confessions, and has a kangaroo court convicting them of crimes they did not commit.

Oh, and by the way; civilians in Bahrain can now be tried by military courts for "threatening the security of the state".

The inside of the tomb contained funerary goods such as pottery, cedar coffins, and, of course, what is believed to be the mummified corpse of Shemai. Serrano said that the mummy is adorned with a "beautiful" funerary mask and is presently under study.

Islamic State beheads 2 for 'sorcery' in Sinai

Islamic State's branch in the Sinai Peninsula posted a video on Tuesday depicting the beheading of two men the militant Islamist group said it had found guilty of practicing witchcraft and sorcery.

US Will Keep Ground Troops in Libya

In a press briefing at the Pentagon today, African Command leader Gen. Thomas Waldhauser announced that the US intends to keep ground troops in Libya for the foreseeable future to support “friendly forces,” and to “degrade” the ISIS forces that remain in the country.

Waldhauser did not specify how many US troops are in Libya now, or how many will stay, but did estimate that there were less than 200 ISIS fighters left in Libya. The US had announced the end of the anti-ISIS campaign in Libya back in December, but never fully withdrew from the country.

The US forces were in Libya trying to help the “unity” government defeat ISIS in the city of Sirte. US officials repeatedly claimed the city was totally surrounded, and that no ISIS fighters would get away, though when the fighting finally ended, a substantial number of ISIS fighters did in fact get away.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: this is "military-speak" for the reality that the US government is never leaving Libya because of the oil and the oil pipelines.

Ousted Egypt President Mubarak freed from detention

Hosni Mubarak, the former Egyptian autocrat toppled during the 2011 Arab Spring, left a military hospital Friday where he spent much of the last six years in detention.

The release of the 88-year old who ruled Egypt for three decades would have been unthinkable several years ago, but revolutionary fervor gave way to exhaustion and even nostalgia in the uprising's chaotic aftermath.

Mubarak had been cleared for release earlier this month after a top court finally acquitted him of involvement in protester deaths during the 2011 revolt that ousted him.

"Yes," his lawyer Farid al-Deeb told AFP when asked if Mubarak had left the hospital Friday.

He added the Mubarak had gone home to a villa in Cairo's Heliopolis district.

Photos Show ISIS Setting Up Checkpoints In Egypt’s Sinai

By Brandon Turbeville

As terrorism and clashes between Sinai militants and Egyptian security has slowly increased since the ouster of Muslim Brotherhood member Morsi from his position as President of Egypt, so has ISIS activity in the peninsula.

Egyptian security have been facing an increase in activity for some time from the Sinai militants but the introduction of ISIS proper has also caused the situation to worsen. Yet, up until now, the situation seemed more sporadic even if it was increasing in frequency...

Russia Appears To Deploy Forces In Egypt, Eyes On Libya Role

Russia appears to have deployed special forces to an airbase in western Egypt near the border with Libya in recent days, U.S., Egyptian and diplomatic sources say, a move that would add to U.S. concerns about Moscow’s deepening role in Libya.

The U.S. and diplomatic officials said any such Russian deployment might be part of a bid to support Libyan military commander Khalifa Haftar, who suffered a setback with an attack on March 3 by the Benghazi Defence Brigades (BDB) on oil ports controlled by his forces.

The U.S. officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the United States has observed what appeared to be Russian special operations forces and drones at Sidi Barrani, about 60 miles (100 km) from the Egypt-Libya border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

More demonization of Russia, I see; notice the weasel wording, and the absolute lack of validation that such a thing had actually happened.

But given its stellar success in driving the jihadis from Syria Russia has had, and the utter chaos in which the US left Libya after having had Qaddafi assassinated, I have to wonder if a Russian military presence in Libya might, possibly, have a calming effect on the country.

Into the Syrian Quagmire – Trump meets complexity

In order to fulfill his pledge to “quickly” dispatch ISIS, Trump is ramping up the US presence – and we’re well on the way to getting sucked into the Syrian quagmire.

Donald Trump thinks he’s going to get rid of ISIS in Syria “quickly,” and then we’ll be on our way to making America great again – but already he’s finding that the terrain there is a bit crowded, and that he has a bit more than the fast-dissipating “Caliphate” to contend with.

According to reports, the Pentagon has come up with a plan to carry out Trump’s pledge, as ordered, but reality is racing ahead of the generals – and auguring a clash of civilizations in the midst of Syria’s blasted out cities.

Insanity of NATO 2.0 for MidEast

If this is to be the new NATO for the Middle East then the world is truly about to descend into barbarism on a scale not seen since the Second World War.

As US President Donald Trump hosts Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House this week on the agenda is the formation of a “NATO-style” alliance for the Middle East, according to reports.

As if one US-led warmongering alliance in Europe and the North Atlantic were not enough. Now the world will see a clone of NATO let loose on the already conflict-torn Middle East region, if the reported discussions materialize.

An IDF spokesperson confirmed that at least four missiles were fired in the direction of Israel’s southernmost city Eilat, from the direction of the Egyptian border. Webmaster's Commentary:

Statement Regarding Recent Executive Order Concerning Extreme Vetting

To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting.

by Donald J Trump

“America is a proud nation of immigrants and we will continue to show compassion to those fleeing oppression, but we will do so while protecting our own citizens and border. America has always been the land of the free and home of the brave.

We will keep it free and keep it safe, as the media knows, but refuses to say. My policy is similar to what President Obama did in 2011 when he banned visas for refugees from Iraq for six months. The seven countries named in the Executive Order are the same countries previously identified by the Obama administration as sources of terror.

Perhaps President Donald Trump Needs To Chill Out A Bit

We are not dealing with “widgets” here, but with people

These Refugee/Immigration Executive Orders appear to be knee-jerk, fear-based, and xenophobic acts of reflexive anger and emotional “lashing out,” rather than well-thought out policy and heavily researched executive action.

The last few Executive Orders pertaining to Refugees and Immigration appear to not have been very well thought through, and the etiology/genesis of the refugee crisis and immigration issues were either completely ignored, or Trump and his administration don’t understand it very well.

Trump to al-Sisi: Syria’s al-Assad is a Brave, steadfast Man

al-Diyar (The Lands) [Beirut] reports on what Egyptian officials allegedly leaked about the telephone conversation between Donald J. Trump and Egyptian president `Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. There is no way to certify the truth of this report. For all I know it is Egyptian propaganda, or Syrian propaganda. The newspaper is linked to the semi-fascist Syrian Socialist Nationalist Party. So buyer beware.

The leakers are alleged to have said that when Trump and al-Sisi discussed Syria, Trump expressed admiration for Syrian strong man Bashar al-Assad, saying that he is “a brave man” who endured steadfastly in the face of terrorism, but adding, “Circumstances don’t allow me to contact him directly.”

2016: The Year of Russia’s Triumph – The Saker

2016 has been a fantastic year for Russia. Putin’s policy of slow, low-key and deliberate move and counter-move has proven to be extremely effective.

Just like European maps place Europe in the center of the planet, so do most western commentators look at the past year from a US/Europe-centered perspective. Which is fair enough. Furthermore, the AngloZionist Empire has just suffered two major disasters, the Brexit and the election of Trump.

The credit for the election of Donald Trump goes first and foremost to the American people to whom I sincerely believe the entire planet owe a heartfelt and loud “THANK YOU!!!!!”.

Not only did the British people defy the Empire and vote for a Brexit, but now the Imperial Homeland has “backstabbed” them by electing a patriot who is not interested in maintaining the global empire (or so he says, at least for the time being).

Putin’s Bear to Obama’s Turkey

Putin's stoic statesmanship speaks for itself.

Not for the first time, the contrast in character between Putin and Obama was illustrated in the latest diplomatic spat over alleged Russian hacking.

For one thing, Putin’s gracious magnanimity always in the face of American provocations shows the Russian leader to be a fine statesman and human being; whereas Obama looks like a pathetic, cheap nonentity.

President Putin made a surprise attack:

He said that his government would not take retaliatory measures. Indeed, he went further by offering seasonal goodwill greetings to President Obama, his family and the people of America, as well as repeating invitations to the children of accredited US diplomats in Russia to festivities being held at the Kremlin.

The Musketeers’ Final Adventure

These days, the Suez crisis turns 60. In the history of the Israel—Egypt confrontation, it was overshadowed by the larger wars of 1967 and 1973, but it holds a very special place in the history of the Cold war. Operation Musketeer was the UK and France’s last attempt at conducting an independent superpower policy. Each party traveled its own path to the conflict. After World War II, the foundation of Israel, and the first Arab—Israeli war it lost, Egypt experienced a sharp rise in the sense of its Arab national identity. It resulted in the July revolution of 1952 (doing double duty as a military coup d’état) which replaced the monarchy with military dictatorship led by lieutenant colonel Gamal Abdel Nasser. The new regime relied on anti-Israeli and anti-British popular sentiments, employed harsher rhetoric toward Israel, and set course for forcing the British military to withdraw from Egypt.

Suez Crisis: Ten Rules That Shook the World Order

Sixty years ago Britain and France colluded with Israel in invading Egypt to reclaim the Suez Canal, nationalized by Egypt. The adventure finished Britain and France as global powers and cleared the way for a new player - the United States. But the rules of the game remain the same.

It's become an oft-repeated mantra by politicians in the West that they have built a rules-based international order that is under attack and needs protecting. One of the biggest building blocks was put into this western "rules-based" international order exactly 60 years ago by Britain and France, with a little bit of help from US and Israel. So what are those "rules" now applied to Syria and those who support her?

Citigroup bank chose Obama’s 2008 cabinet – WikiLeaks

The single biggest beneficiary was Citigroup, which was given $45 billion in cash in the form of a government stock purchase, plus a $306 billion government guarantee to back up its worthless mortgage-related assets.

One month before the presidential election of 2008, the giant Wall Street bank Citigroup submitted to the Obama campaign a list of its preferred candidates for cabinet positions in an Obama administration. This list corresponds almost exactly to the eventual composition of Barack Obama’s cabinet.

The memorandum, revealed by WikiLeaks in a recent document release from the email account of John Podesta, who currently serves as Hillary Clinton’s campaign chair, was written by Michael Froman, who was then an executive with Citigroup and currently serves as US trade representative. The email is dated Oct. 6, 2008 and bears the subject line “Lists.” It went to Podesta a month before he was named chairman of President-Elect Obama’s transition team.

This is not no-cost. Egypt did not pay for these, YOU did! And depending on configuration, a single MRAP can cost as much as a million dollars! So, that is 3/4 of a billion dollars given to Egypt, instead of spent on this nation, its infrastructure, and its people!

Did the Pentagon Bomb Syrian Army to Kill Ceasefire Deal?

The US has officially taken responsibility for the incident which it called a “mistake”...

A rift between the Pentagon and the White House turned into open rebellion on Saturday when two US F-16s and two A-10 warplanes bombed Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions at Deir al-Zor killing at least 62 Syrian regulars and wounding 100 others.

Many analysts now wonder whether the attacks are an indication that the neocon-strewn DOD is actively engaged in sabotaging President Obama’s Syria policy, a claim that implies that the Pentagon is led by anti-democratic rebels who reject the Constitutional authority of the civilian leadership. Saturday’s bloodletting strongly suggests that a mutiny is brewing at the War Department.

3 YEARS AFTER BRUTAL RABAA AL-ADAWEYA SQUARE MASSACRE, US STILL FUNDING EL-SISSI DICTATORSHIP IN EGYPT

Three years ago this week, Egyptian forces opened fire on a sit-in, killing hundreds of supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi.

At least 817 people died in the Aug. 14, 2013 attack on Rabaah Al-Adawiya Square, where protesters — mostly supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood — had gathered after the coup.

For the survivors and their families, justice remains a far off dream today.

The sit-in was organized in opposition to the July 2013 coup which replaced the democratically-elected Morsi government with one led by Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, who led the Egyptian military under the previous dictator, Hosni Mubarak.

Despite the abrupt transfer of power and violent suppression of the opposition, the White House was reluctant to call the takeover a coup, and the United States continues to support the el-Sissi government, despite token reductions in military aid after the coup. At $1.3 billion annually, Egypt is second only to Israel in terms of U.S. military aid.

“To run for the most powerful yet unforgiving office in the world.

“There is no greater calling….

“Vote for the candidate who can’t be bought, sold, purchased, coerced, intimidated or steered from the path that is right, and just and true….

“To the veteran tuning into this speech from his or her hospital, whose been ignored and disrespected by an ungrateful system, my father is running for you….

“Vote for the one candidate who does not need this job.”

— Eric Trump, son of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, spoke Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Democratic convention draws thousands of protesters to Philadelphia

Thousands of demonstrators took to the sweltering streets of Philadelphia on Sunday, chanting and beating drums in the first major protests ahead of the Democratic national convention.

The group of about a dozen marchers walked on sidewalks from near the convention site up toward the Liberty Bell. One played This Land is Your Land on bagpipes as the group weaved around people eating brunch at sidewalk cafes and others walking dogs.

Jill Stein Just BLASTED the DNC Over Leaked Emails

“This latest revelation from WikiLeaks underscores how much the media is in bed with the DNC to circle the wagons around Hillary,” Stein told US Uncut in a phone interview. “The corruption and underhanded tactics and deception and conspiratorial efforts to silence Bernie and delegitimize him — I mean, welcome to the Green Party. This is what we’ve been up against forever.”

“The leaked DNC emails are the smoking gun that the Democratic establishment was rigging the game against Bernie the whole time,” Stein said in a press release issued by her campaign. “Instead of running the process impartially and letting the voters decide, top Democratic officials were doing all they could to ensure a Clinton victory, including collusion with journalists to present a pro-Clinton, anti-Sanders narrative.”

Coup in Turkey succeeded and still ongoing: Egyptian media outlets

Despite confirmed news sources proving the failure of the military coup in Turkey, several private and state-owned Egyptian media outlets have insisted that the military coup attempt executed on Friday evening against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an ended in success.

A number of privately owned media outlets and prominent media figures operating popular talk shows did not hesitate to show their support for the military coup in a way that clearly violates objective reporting.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Remember that there is a 'cold war' between the two countries since the Egyptians toppled Mohammad Mursi's government and Erdogan then described Egyptian government as illegal...

Which also explains Egypt's comments at the UNSC regarding the Turkish coup!

‘Unprecedented spike’ in Egypt forced disappearances

Egyptian police have been implicated in an "unprecedented spike" in enforced disappearances since early 2015 aimed at quashing dissent, Amnesty International said in a report on Wednesday.

"Enforced disappearance has become a key instrument of state policy in Egypt. Anyone who dares to speak out is at risk," Amnesty's Middle East and North Africa director, Philip Luther, said.

Jeremy Corbyn gives #Chilcot statement

The much-edited Chilcot Report finally arrived and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has issued a pretty-sounding apology for his party’s decision to go to war in Iraq in 2003. He called it the most serious foreign policy calamity of the last 60 years and “a stain on our party and country”.

It’s unfortunate that he dignifies the evil Iraq war conspiracy by suggesting it had anything to do with policy of the British people. It was a private venture, pledged in secret, by a Labour prime minister and his closest henchmen, and backed by the Cabinet.
