Judges Reject Orange County's Claim That Social Workers Didn't Know Lying In Court Was Wrong

Using taxpayer funds, government officials in Orange County have spent the last 16 years arguing the most absurd legal proposition in the entire nation: How could social workers have known it was wrong to lie, falsify records and hide exculpatory evidence in 2000 so that a judge would forcibly take two young daughters from their mother for six-and-a-half years?

Retirement Crisis: Experts say global retirement shortfall will top $400 TRILLION

No wonder politicians are now fine with getting rid of the estate tax. Not many people have an estate anymore. In fact they’re short… about $400 trillion short.

Public Health Researchers Use Common Gun Control Tactic to Mislead on “Children” and Guns

Conflating firearms injuries among actual children with those suffered by juveniles and young adults for political gain or notoriety has been a staple of gun control politics for over a quarter-century. While some of the less dishonest gun control groups have been shamed into changing their messaging to more accurately reflect their use of the 0-19 demographic, brazenly dishonest characterizations of firearm injuries among “children” persist. Given this record of deceit, gun owners must view any attempt to leverage our natural concern for children against our rights with the utmost skepticism.

Stories, songs, movies that are popular resonate truths people want to feel and express; sometimes these truths are veiled. Consider in two minutes:

It’s just a limited analogy with none perfect even with Disneyfied wishing, of course.

And that said:

Earth’s humanity (Aladdin), in dire poverty, orphaned from connection to Life/One/God, threatened with death by a government scheming for endless sadistic power, develops unique creativity from challenging conditions nobody would choose.
Unbelievable riches (Princess Jasmin) but equally captured on Earth intersects with ordinary humanity for mutual benefit: teamwork to defeat the previously hidden evil that was the power manipulating government, and with victory the amazing possibility of unimaginable creativity in a “whole new world.”
Freedom for the first time to create as we wish in sufficient power and access to hidden truths of what was imagined as “magic” (Genie).

Trump Budget Finds $0 in Wasteful Pentagon Programs.

In assembling the budget as proposed on Tuesday, the Trump administration dove deep into the weeds of the executive branch, finding programs that it deems wasteful or unnecessary and targeting them for complete elimination. All told, the budget lists 66 programs that would be either completely zeroed out or would lose the overwhelming majority of their spending authority. In all, the budget claims savings of $26.7 billion from what it refers to as “major discretionary eliminations.”

However, the administration apparently has a significant blind spot when it comes to the Department of Defense, an accounting black hole into which some $639 billion is set to disappear under the president’s budget proposal. >>>

Trump: Dancing with Wolves on the Titanic

Robert Fisk put it best: “Trump Is About To Really Mess Up In The Middle East”. Following his fantastically stupid decision to attack the Syrian military with cruise missiles, Trump or, should I say, the people who make decisions for him, probably realized that it was “game over” for any US policy in the Middle-East so they did the only thing that they could do: they ran towards those few who were actually happy with this aggression against Syria: the Saudis and the Israelis. Needless to say, with these two “allies,” what currently passes for some type of “US foreign policy” in the Middle-East will only go from bad to worse.

Absent from mainstream media accounts of the event, however – and the man allegedly behind it – are several key coincidences that have raised concerns, particularly regarding links between British intelligence and the alleged suicide bomber, British-born Salman Abedi.

Aide: Trump Won’t Roll Back US Sanctions Against Russia

Top White House adviser Gary Cohn today insisted that President Trump no longer intends to make any efforts to roll back US sanctions against Russia, and that “if anything, we would probably look to get tougher on Russia” in the future.

The Trump Administration has struggled with consistency on its Russia policy, as Trump campaigned very openly on diplomatic rapprochement in 2016, with expectations of rolling back the excesses of Obama’s sanctions. After the election he started talking about wanting some sort of concessions, though these too were eventually abandoned.

Facing political opposition to any improved relationship with Russia, Cohn’s comments are in keeping with other recent reports out of the administration, which vowed to keep the sanctions in place unless Russia gave up Crimea, and made other major moves they clearly would not have any intention of making.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, that well-enshrined tenant of the UN Charter , called "peaceful self-determination" (which is what Crimea did, post-Ukrainian putsch) does not apply to Crimea, which left the Ukraine, peacefully, and held a second referendum to determine if the Crimean people wanted to join the Russian Federation, which they did, and then petitioned to join the Russian Federation, which they wanted to do.

Russia in no way "annexed" Crimea; the Crimean government understood, post-Putsch, that there was no legitimate representation in Kiev whatsoever, when it made these moves.

The death of a Navy SEAL reveals US mission creep in Somalia

It hasn't happened since the infamous Black Hawk Down battle in 1993.

Last month, a US soldier was shot and killed fighting in Somalia. Reports indicate the Navy SEAL was serving alongside his Somali counterparts — not advising from the operating base — as they battled al-Shabab militants.

New York Times correspondent Jeffrey Gettleman has covered Somalia for more than a decade, and writes about it in his new book, “Love, Africa: A Memoir of Romance, War, and Survival.”

Gettleman is skeptical of Washington's official explanation that dozens, perhaps hundreds of US soldiers are in Somalia simply to offer advice.

"Many of us suspect this is not simply advise and assist, that American troops are fighting toe-to-toe with al-Shabab militants," he explains. "The fact that a Navy SEAL was just killed in combat in a spray of bullets fired at a vehicle pretty much confirms what we had always suspected."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Our military are obviously not in Somalia as "advisors"; they are there as soldiers, fighting Al-Shabab militants.

And why is the US military in Somalia?!?

Here...is the answer.
Somali natural resources

The tired cycle repeats; regime change the government to one which is western-centric; expropriate that country's resources to which the US government and its corporate minions have absolutely no moral right; and insure that those resources are only sold in US dollars.

This is why the US military is in Somalia, period, end of discussion.

Bipartisan War Authorization Bill Would Make Trump '21st Century Version of King George III'

The 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force has been used to justify military strikes around the world – dubiously, in the opinion of many legal scholars.

In their place, the new legislation would allow military action against the Taliban, al-Qaida and the Islamic State group, commonly known as ISIS, along with “associated groups,” specifically including Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (formerly the al-Qaida-affiliated Nusra Front), the so-called Khorasan Group, al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula and al-Shabab.

Military action would be allowed in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Libya and Yemen.

If the president wanted to take military action against additional associated groups or inside countries not specifically named, he would have to notify Congress, which would then have the option of passing a motion of disapproval.

The new war authorization would expire in five years unless it's renewed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem with the way this bill is worded is that it is extra-Constitutional and a rubber stamp for more undeclared wars, because, according to the Constitution, only Congress has the power to declare war.

US Is Killing More Civilians in Syria Air War Than Assad Is

Exemplified by the hundred and some odd people they’ve killed in the last 48 hours, the US is struggling mightily with the narrative that they are taking extraordinary care to limit the number of civilian casualties in the air war in Syria, and are rapidly losing any pretense of a moral high ground.

Indeed, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights is noting that the soaring death toll from US airstrikes has now surpassed the civilian toll of the Assad government’s own airstrikes, which the US and other Western nations have condemned as indiscriminate and irresponsible.

Oftentimes, US officials have been so outraged at Syria’s “indiscriminate” air strikes that they’ve demanded regime change, and has railed at Russia and Iran for tolerating their tactics in bombing civilian targets. Obviously, the US never sees the same problem with its own massive killings.

JOHN PILGER: THE WHITE HELMETS ARE A “COMPLETE PROPAGANDA CONSTRUCT”

This was my email to John Pilger on the 27/9/2016. I have no idea if it had any influence upon the comments that Pilger made during his interview but the fact that such a respected and admired analyst has finally, publically exposed the White Helmets – as a primarily British-funded, propaganda, shadow state construct, engineered to facilitate intervention in Syria, should be a powerful ally for independent media in their efforts to reveal the pivotal aspects of the dirty war being waged against Syria.

“I am writing to you as a journalist who believes in all the values you have represented to them for the years they have followed you.

After the Confederates, Who’s Next?

For a century, Americans lived comfortably with the honoring, North and South, of the men who fought on both sides. But today's America is not the magnanimous country we grew up in. Since the '60s, there has arisen an ideology that holds that the Confederacy was the moral equivalent of Nazi Germany, and those who fought under its battle flag should be regarded as traitors or worse. Thus, in New Orleans, statues of Jefferson Davis, president of the Confederate States of America, and General Robert E. Lee were just pulled down ... Behind this remorseless drive to blast the greatest names from America's past off public buildings, and to tear down their statues and monuments, is an egalitarian extremism rooted in envy and hate.

On Kalief Browder Way: This Happens Every Day

Thursday, on what would have been his 24th birthday, an intersection in the Bronx was renamed in honor of Kalief Browder, the 16-year-old African-American boy flung into New York’s grisly Rikers Island Prison in 2010 after he was wrongly accused of stealing a backpack and his family couldn’t raise bail. At Rikers, known as a de-facto “penal colony” for its brutal conditions, Kalief endured three years of “documented torture,” including two years in solitary, at the hands of both guards and fellow inmates.

George Soros Behind Push to Boycott Sean Hannity

The control of private information on the internet has been a contentious for as long as the people have been online. It has long been the consensus that maintaining internet freedoms is essential for free expression, the exchange of ideas and the ability for proponents of democracy and human rights activists to mobilize and advocate for political, social, and economic reform. Currently, the debate about internet freedom is centered around the concept of net neutrality.

Bahrainis hold more anti-regime rallies nationwide

People in Bahrain hold more rallies nationwide in protest at the Manama regime’s recent bloodshed in the besieged village of Diraz, which is home to the spiritual leader of the country’s Shia majority, Sheikh Isa Qassim.

On May 23, Bahraini forces raided Diraz, which has been under a military siege for almost a year, and stormed into the home of Sheikh Qassim.

During the raid, regime forces killed at least five demonstrators, wounded dozens and arrested over 280 people during the crackdown on Diraz, which took place shortly after a meeting between US President Donald Trump and Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifah in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question of why President Trump is so excellent at making such horrifically bad choices in foreign policy in the Middle East just gives me nightmares.

He's cosied up to one of the worst suppressors of human rights in the region,AKA Saudi Arabia; selling them bombs with which to continue their genocide in Yemen, and ultimately start a war against Iran, which has done absolutely nothing wrong, except develop a truly moderate, Constitutional Muslim democracy, and be the alleged "existential threat" claimed by both Israel and Saudi Arabia.

And the Al Khalifa monarchy in Bahrain?!? Please, don't get me started!!

The Sunni monarchy has been mercilessly persecuting peaceful Shiia protestors who are advocating for a Constitutional Monarchy; they have been jailed, tortured into confessions for crimes they have not committed; convicted by kangaroo courts and given long prison sentences.

Even the first responders who treated these protestors from their injuries and wounds by the Bahraini police have been jailed, tortured, convicted of crimes they did not commit, and committing them to long prison sentences as well.

I have warned the Bahraini government over the years on this blog, that if there was no attempt to achieve a political compromise with their Shiite citizens, there would be a tipping point, and we may well be looking at that tipping point right now.

And it may come at such a price that there will be a violent revolution against the monarchy, and whoever will be in control will be virulently anti-American, because of this country's wholehearted support of this wretched, tone-deaf monarchy, and its government.

At that point, the US 5th Fleet, which is hosted by Bahrain, may well have to find a new home.

US nuclear fuel fire may lead to much larger disaster than Fukushima: Study

A new US study has found that government agencies have undermined the risks to the country’s nuclear safety, warning that a single nuclear fuel fire may lead to a disaster “much greater than [Japan’s] Fukushima.”

If spent fuel at one of America’s dozens of nuclear sites is set on fire, it “could dwarf the horrific consequences of the Fukushima accident,” researchers from Princeton University and the Union of Concerned Scientists cautioned in a study published in the Friday issue of Science Magazine, censuring the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for ignoring the potential danger.

Such a disaster, it said, would lead to “trillion-dollar consequences,” as the hypothetical fire would lead to the contamination of a region larger than the northeast state of New Jersey and compel mass relocations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

With a serious deterioration of facilities like Hanford in Washington State, Congress needs to start taking care of the people they allegedly represent, by making sure that critical infrastructure, like the country's nuclear facilities are upgraded and cared for.

Unfortunately, with such a huge portion of Trump's 2018 budget dedicated to the military, I don't think this will happen before it is too late to address the problem.

Nancy Pelosi complains Trump not visiting countries in alphabetical order

Has Nancy Pelosi completely lost her mind? Or does she just have to complain about everything President Trump does?

During a press briefing on Thursday, the House Minority Leader criticized the president’s choice of visiting Saudi Arabia first during his inaugural foreign trip.

“I thought it was unusual for the President of the United States to go to Saudi Arabia first. Saudi Arabia!” Pelosi said.

“It wasn’t even alphabetical. I mean, Saudi Arabia.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

To those who Congresswoman Pelosi allegedly represents in the 12th District; this woman is getting progressively more confused, irritable, and ever more illogical.

And if she doesn't get why President Trump went first to Saudi Arabia, I would be very happy to explain to her why; it was the huge weapons deal he pulled off there.

She has become a complete embarrassment to Congress and to those she allegedly represents.

The California DNC should be talking about replacing her for the next election cycle, and quickly.
